Bush LCD23TV004 - Affordable space saver
Review of Bush LCD23TV004 by
NinaE
Advantages: affordable, good picture quality, easy setup, wall mountable
Disadvantages: only 1 scart socket, tinny sound quality
...wall mount to hang it up on my wall. Now the work started. The only wall I had available was drywall, hollow inside, so I was concerned about that. But some heavy duty fixings sorted that problem. Vesa is a mounting standard for LCD screens, that either use a 75mm mounting plate or 100mm. This TV uses 100mm and was easy to fit, due to it's weight of only 11kg.
In the box:
It comes with a kettle lead, same as most PC monitors do. Also in the box is a VGA lead to connect it to your PC if you want to, an easy to use remote control, the manual and warranty documents. Bush gives you the option to extend the warranty by either an additional 2 years (£51.90) or 3 years (£73.90), on top of the 1 year standard warranty it comes with. I found this to be the cheaper option, compared to taking out extra warranty with an online retailer or store...

Venturing into the world of budget LCD televisions
Review of Bush LCD 26 TV 016 HD by
Mainflava
Advantages: Easy to tune; clear, high quality picture, good sound
Disadvantages: None that I can see so far
....
Screen size......
Having looked at a number of flat panel TVs with screen sizes ranging from 15 to 32 inches, I decided to upgrade my normal screen size from 15 inches to 26 inches in order to provide that home cinema feel in a relatively small room. While large screens were also appealing, a combination of a tight budget (see above) and a small room with which the set would be located, forced my hand into the sub 32 inch category.
Bush LCD 26 inch TV
Eventually, after much searching, I stumbled across the above televison on offer for a shade over £300 including delivery - well inside my projected budget. On receipt of the television, I was suprised at just how light it was; weighing in at less than 17 kg meant that should I need to wall mount the unit, I could get away with much cheaper brackets and, I could even contemplate the tilt...

Save some space with this stylish 15" LCD TV!!
Review of Mikomi 15 LCD 250 by
yours_ilze
Advantages: Stylish, Light, Cheap, Good Size, Quality Sound & Vision
Disadvantages: Not suitable for use as a PC monitor
...I have not had a TV for last 4years! Can you believe this?
Last week I have finally decided to get one.
Since my bed-sit has not much of a space for a standrd size TV, I had to look for something that would fit onto my study table where I keep my laptop, CD player, phone and Homechoice Internet-Digital TV-Phone Box that requires a SCART socket in order to be compatible with TV... so....
I have decided that LCD is exactly what I need! I have looked at various web sites, including Tesco and Sainsburys and I have come across this Mikomi 15" LCD TV at Argos for just £149.99 which is current sale price!
I went to Argos couple of days ago and bought this LCD TV with my Argos store card that gives me 3months time to pay off the purchase! I also got £10 Argos gift voucher as I have spent over £100 :) So I guess not only I have found...

BUSH 27" WIDESCREEN LCD TV
Review of Bush LCD27TV005 by
kismet
Advantages: nice flat screen, sharp clear picture
Disadvantages: can the cat knock it over? not hd ready?
...this end of line 27" widescreen lcd flat television and just had to buy it. The only trouble was, that being end of line meant that you could not order it for delivery, so I did a search of all my local stores until I found one and we reserved it for collection the next day.
My husband came home with the tv, we unpacked it and installed it so easily, it was a dream.
The Techinical description of this television in the Argos catalogue is Bush LCD27TV005 27in Widescreen LCD TV.
The Argos order number is: 529/2150 and we paid £399.99. From what I have read online, this television was retailing at around £600 originially, but at the moment, all of the LCD televisions seem to be 26 or 30/32 inches, so it looks like they are phasing out the 27" ones.
The television is silver in colour and the speakers are each end of the television...

A cool 32 inch Samsung LCD TV
Review of Samsung LE32R74BDX 32" HD Ready LCD TV by
ciaoauthor
Advantages: Fantastic picture quality, nice sound, ease of use and a good looking TV
Disadvantages: One HDMI
...If quality and style is what you are looking for then the Samsung LE32R74BDX 32" HD is the TV for you. This screen is one of the better looking on the market and looks great both on the side with the supplied stand or mounted on the wall (wall mount not supplied). The picture quality is phenomenal. The TV has DNIe (Digital Natural Image engine) which helps to 'step up' the inputted source. This means a great quality pictures even from my DVD player connected through one of the two scart sockets and from the built in freeview receiver. This negates the need to update a DVD player for one with a HDMI connection. The screen produces up to 12.8 billion colours and has a contrast ratio of 5000:1 giving great definition between light and dark. In fact the two main disadvantages with LCD TV's have been solved with this screen...

Let's sing the praises of Samsung LCD TV
Review of Samsung LE32R51BD 32" LCD TV by
mikefnw75
Advantages: Saves space, good picture, built in freeview
Disadvantages: HD broadcasts not out yet, need a HD ready DVD player too
...parent and they'll be in the know! It's CBeebies which provides children's television from 6 a.m till 7 p.m. Now I know it's not the same as watching that freaky doll image that used to keep us entertained as a child ( I'm sure she used to change expression) but it is a life saver for parents. I try to restrict my childs intake but when you are making dinner and you have 2 under 3 year olds getting up to mischieve, CBeebies is a winner. Apart from that Freeview has Sky Sports News which I have on when I'm given a moment of peace. It's a good added bonus freeview and as it is inbuilt you don't need to have any extra boxes.
*** Keeping up Appearances ***
This tv comes with its own stand and it fits snugly on our mantelpiece at home. However you can purchase a wall mount for about an extra £100. It is surprisingly heavy despite its...

THE MOUNT FROM WHERE THE ARMADA WAS FIRST SIGHTED
Review of Saint Michael's Mount, Cornwall by
poshtroika
Advantages: Great Views.
Disadvantages: Not Disabled friendly, but sorry it can not be.
...SAINT MICHAELS MOUNT lies just off the Coast near Penzance.
I will start off by giving their web site address.
http://www.stmichaelsmount.co.uk/
This is an excellent site that gives a full History and Story of the Mount and I recommend a look for those details as my review is more about our experience.
We have visited the Mount on numerous occassions, starting with our first visit to Cornwall in 1969 as a Courting Couple (Thats an old fashioned term).
Other visits followed over the years with first one child, then two then three. And more recently with one of the Grand Chilren.
But each and every time it has its Magic. Each time the weather will be different. Also the tide and it is this that can alter the way you visit the Mount.
The Mount became an Island in about 2000 B.C. and at low tide can be walked across...

Mounts Bay Waters Apartments..A 5* experience!
Review of Mounts Bay Waters Apartment Hotel, Perth by
scarletuk72
Advantages: Very close to Perth city, stunning views, ultra modern......
Disadvantages: Room service got you up far too early!
...The apartments are a 20 minute drive from the airport and with the aid of a map we were able to find them quite easily. The Mounts bay waters apartments are situated on Mounts Bay road which is adjacent to two of Perths greatest attractions - the Swan River and Kings Park and is also just a few minutes stroll to the Perth central business district and also (more importantly if you like retail therapy) the shops!
Mounts Bay Waters apartments - also known as Mounts bay village, comprises of a number of buildings which house both hotel guests and residents.
Upon arrival we were quite excited as everywhere looked wonderful, not to mention clean, the reason for our excitement I will leave for another review, lets just say that our apartments in the last city, melbourne, didnt live up to expectations!
Anyway, There were six...

Mount Kenya, The Crazy British way
Review of Mount Kenya National Park (Kenya) by
gt5952
Advantages: Great views, lifetime experience
Disadvantages: Too high.
...Going up the hill...
If you want to get a train to the top, and buy a badge to say you did it at the peak visitor centre, youre in the wrong place.
Up and down in 3 days, as we did it, is a seriously bad idea, with altitude sickness and so on, the only possible way to climb is to take 6 steps forward and two back - there is no ammount of training that can prepare a couch potato to do this, you must be fit in body and mind, and then make your peace with whoever before you go get to the top.
On route to the summit of Mount Kenya there are a few lodges, one, about half way up has its own porter who will share his food at a price. The billets are basic, sometimes with a dirty matteress, but expect to pay a renal price for this.
The toilet facilities are usually a stinking \"long drop\" (hole in the floor) or simply using...
