Lunch in Leicester Square
Review of The Brewmaster (London) by
kthdsn
Advantages: lovely atmosphere, nice food
Disadvantages: children not allowed in
...Whilst in London over the weekend, my Dad, who is obsessed with pubs, took me to Brewmaster in Leicester Square for a quick beer to break up our busy day. He told me he had been before although my younger brother had been with him so they had been turned away. They have a rule of no children in the bar.
Brewmaster is located next door to the entrance to Leicester Square tube station. It is a friendly pub with a bar on the ground floor as well as a further one upstairs. It serves a selection of beers wines and spirits as well as food.
We entered the pub to find a traditional looking bar with a nice relaxed atmosphere. We were greeted by two very friendly barmaids and dad ordered a pint of London Pride for himself and a diet coke for me. He was served quickly and efficiently with a smile.
We sat down and I decided to order...

ANGUS STEAKHOUSE, LEICESTER SQUARE - LONDON!
Review of Angus Steakhouses by
Phoenix7891
Advantages: FRIENDLY & HELPFUL STAFF
Disadvantages: FOOD WASN'T GREAT - DIDN'T ENJOY IT - LOOKS CAN BE DECIEVING
...minutes after ordering it.
So after I made my order my friend decided she didn't want a steak so opted for the chicken cesear salad with a side order of chips. It came to around £9.00 for both dishes which I thought was a bit over-priced as what is it?? Few salad leaves and a chicken breast?? Nevermind I didn't say anything and started to eye up our surrondings.
Must say the restaurant was very clean, tables were a good size and the seats were comfortable. The lay out of the restaurant was good as the bar was on the far wall with tables on the opposite side so as you walked in there was your seating area on the left and bar area on the right. Perfect if you just wanted a quick pint and walk back out onto Leicester Square except it wouldn'the pint wouldn't taste very nice.
So after chatting for 20 minutes I was starting to wonder where...

Square Head!!
Review of Walkers Square Crisps Salt and Vinegar Flavour by
just.bcoz
Advantages: Great taste, smell, value for money
Disadvantages: Not many crisps per packet
...Walkers Square crisps are available in 4 different flavours, cheese & onion, ready salted, salt & vinegar and beef. You can buy a 25g pack of Walkers Square for £0.35.
Walkers Square are also available in a multipack. The multipack contains 6 packets of Walkers Square, 2 Cheese&Onion, 2 Ready Salted and 2 Salt & Vinegar. It costs about £1.35 for a multipack.
Salt and Vinegar are my favourite because they are really tasty compared to the Cheese & Onion and Ready Salted. The Salt and Vinegar are really tangy and you can smell and taste the vinegar.
Walkers Square are also suitable for vegatarians because they are cooked in Sunseed oil, which is similar to olive oil.

Salt and Vinegar Squares are sold in a dark blue packet which has different shades of blue squares on it. The word squares...

Square Crisps
Review of Walkers Square Crisps Ready Salted Flavour by
Groovygal
Advantages: Tasty and crunchy
Disadvantages: Not enough in the packet
...I love crisps, in fact I think I prefer crisps to chocolate, and one of my favourite types of crisps is Walkers Squares, probably because they are one of the most nosiest crisps and you can annoy everyone by crunching them!
I usually buy the crisps in a variety pack of 12 from my local Tesco for about £1.50, but you can get them from all supermarkets, or in single packets from the newsagents for 35p if you need a quick crisp fix. Included in the packet are three different flavours; salt and vinegar, cheese and onion and the ones that I am going to tell you about today, ready salted.
Just recently the packaging for Walkers square crisps ready salted flavour has changed, it has gone from a dull matt red packet to a shiny red packet with square patterns printed all over it which, I feel, makes it more predominant and easy...

Squarely Scrumptious Snacks
Review of Walkers Square Crisps Ready Salted Flavour by
Lizard_Lover
Advantages: Full of flavour
Disadvantages: Sharp edges
...I spotted some ready salted Square Crisps whilst we were on holiday recently, so grabbed a couple of packets for the kids on the journey home. They cost me 35p each, but Square Crisps can also be bought in multipacks of 10 and six in assorted flavours and also multipacks of salt and vinegar flavour. No-one in the house likes the cheese flavoured ones, or the salt and vinegar so if I’m going to buy these, I get the single packets.
Square Crisps were originally manufactured by Smiths, but Walkers have now taken over the company, and in their infinite wisdom, have changed the packaging of these to the foil type.
Although the distinctive checked background is still there, it is not as dominant as it was when Smiths manufactured them. The pack holds 25g and informs us consumers that Square Crisps are suitable for vegetarians...

Average Funkel's
Review of Garfunkel's Leicester Square by
heatherrr13
Advantages: Food isn't bad, pricing is averge
Disadvantages: Service is Bad!
...Last Friday my boyfriend and I decided to go out for dinner. We decided to go to Garfunkel's, in Leicester square, because we walk past it everyday after work (whilst starving) yet had never eaten in there. The restaurant is situated down Dean Street, which is one of the roads that leads into Leicester Square. It can be seen from the centre of Leicester Square, and is very easily accessible from Leicester Square tube station. It is also in walking distance from Charing Cross National Rail station, and about 5 minutes walk from Trafalgar Square.
WAITING TIMES
As we had decided to visit this branch in central London on a Friday evening, we decided to book in advance. So, my boyfriend rang up the restaurant that morning and reserved a table. When we got to the restaurant we entered and queued for a couple of minutes before everyone...

Go and have a good time
Review of Leicester Square, London by
Louise90
Advantages: Fun, full of life.
Disadvantages: Does get very busy with people!
...Leicester Square is the place to be if you want 24 hour fun! Every time I visit London, one of the first places I head for is Leicester Square. There's cinemas's (2 Odion's!), cafe's, bars, restaurants (McDonalds). You name it, it's there!
If you want to sit and relax for a while, that's fine! There's plenty going on to see from the comfort of your chair! The people alone are sometimes strange and wonderful. I very often see buskers there trying (and very often extremely successfully!!) making money. Sometimes you'll see the odd famous face or two as well. I once saw 'Weekend Watchdog' being filmed here, and saw a group of men doing the Full Monty!
There's also toilets which are underground. Last time I went, they were free. China Town is also not far from Leicester Square. I could tell you about China Town, but that...

Everything you could wish for.
Review of Leicester Square, London by
beckym
Advantages: Lots to do,good food everywhere
Disadvantages: crowded,beware of pick pockets
...What can I say about Leicester square...a great place.Cinemas,Theatre,Pizza,Chips,Mcdonalds, street artists,So much to do and take in.
Last time I visited I had my portrait drawn which was excellent and there's always something going on.The amount of food you can choose from is amazing,so you'll never go hungry.
Its always busy ans really close to the tube, so whether your'e just passing through or staying for a while I would recommend it.Close to other local attractions such as Trafalgar square and covent garden you can wakl quite easily or just be lazy and catch the tube or bus.
Very frequent transport though do be careful if youre walking as the transport can get congested in parts and accidents can happen if its crowded.
May even get a glimpse of a few celebs in Leicester square, last ime I went I saw Robbie from Eastenders...

The twighlight zone
Review of Leicester Square, London by
REG
Advantages: central with easy access and bustling
Disadvantages: Difficult with young children
...Leicester Square. Whatever you do don't visit during the day. It is uninteresting and drab. Save your visit for ealy evening when it comes alive and be prepared to stay for the rest of the night.
You will be very lucky to find a taxi and it is not worth the effort. Use the tube or bus. It is cheaper and all part of the London atmosphere. When you get there just walk around and soak up the atmosphere. You will see street performers, artists happy to paint a quick portrait, people anxious to decorate your body, chinese 'doctors' offering you a massage on the streets. If this is not enough Gerrard street better known as London's chinatown is around the corner, literally.
Fed up with walking? You can eat out for a fiver if you like pizza or for a fiver as well visit Mr Woo's where the food is always fresh and hot and you can eat...

What have you been missing
Review of Leicester Square, London by
lindylou
Advantages: noisy fun
Disadvantages: no good for agropheobics (how do you spell that?)
...Never been to Leicester Square? Well it is about time you started to live a little.
Firstly, if you do go give daytime a miss because you will be disappointed. Wait until dark then it all happens.
You could, of course be going just for the cinemas but that would be a waste. So give yourself enough time to have a good look around and get a flavour of the atmosphere. Gone are the days when you would just see a one man band or a couple of tap dancers who were always looking over their shoulder for the bobby who would not appreciate their efforts.
Now, Leicester Square buzzes. If you like the idea of the aroma of food cooked outside and do not mind the risk. If you like the idea of seeing dancers and music. If you like the idea of mime artists. Portrait painters. Body painters. Open air massages from chinese folk and people...
