Review of Lee Evans - 1994-2005 Live Comedy Collection (Box Set) by  vikkiknight

Advantages: so hilariously funny
Disadvantages: about 3 repeated jokes

...Lee Evans is the funniest bloke I know. And the sweatiest. "Have you ever walked into a room and forgot why you've walked in there? Why are you askin you, you don't fuckin' know. " Lee Evans is a Comedian who was born on 25th February, 1964 in Bristol. He started out life in a band called "The Forgotten Five" then had a spell as a boxer at the age of 21. After he quit boxing his break came in 1988 at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival which kicked off his comedy career. Lee has also starred in many films such as Mouse Hunt and There's Something about Mary. This box set includes six of his best and well known stand up comedy gigs. These are; 1994 - Live at Her Majesty's Theatre 1995 - Live from the West End 1996 - The Different Planet Tour 1998 - Live in Scotland 2002 - Wired & Wonderful Live at Wembley 2005 - XL Tour Live... Jason Lives; And This Time He Turns To Comedy
Review of Friday The 13th - Part 6 - Jason Lives DVD by  ReelThoughts01

Advantages: Well-acted, the gore is quite impressive, direction, comedic elements.
Disadvantages: Some may dislike the film’s more comedic turn.

...their throat. It works to the film’s advantage well and only goes to show the viewer how good a director McLoughlin truly is. His ability to express true horror and than turn around and present the comedy without going crazy with camera angles. The presentation works well and his straight-forward directing is unique and it’s own right. The direction is also strong, as that should be highly evident. McLoughlin utilizes subtlety and originality that works with the film instead of prying it apart. These two elements combine together and give the audience a viewing experience that is unlike any of the other “Friday The 13th” films. It’s great that “Jason Lives” was given its own unique look and feel. It also should be mentioned that it doesn’t borrow anything from previous “Friday The 13th” films as well. This is certainly one of the best directed... Read review

The past, present and future of The Divine Comedy
Review of The Divine Comedy by  bigmadeejit

Advantages: Long lasting, something for everyone, good music
Disadvantages: The dissolving of the band

...THE DIVINE COMEDY ******BACKGROUND****** To some people The Divine Comedy is just the name of a medieval Italian book, end of story. To many others The Divine Comedy is a band which has been around for the past 10 or so years and was founded and is fronted by singer-songwriter Neil Hannon. Neil, the son of a former Bishop in Northern Ireland was born in Londonderry, moved to Enniskillen and studied at Portora Royal School. Neil had two main passions in his life, music and art. Had Neil not gone down the music path it is thought that he would have pursued a career as an artist. Thankfully for us he didn’t (I’m not saying his art wasn’t good) as 8 albums and a Best Of later, many of us have come to know and like the music of the Divine Comedy even if we don’t know them by name or the fact that the band was named after a book... Comedy - The relaxed genre
Review of Top 10 Best Comedy Series by  Organics

Advantages: Just so funny
Disadvantages: May break a rib because of the humour

...a variety of people which I don't like beacause Angus was a very funny presenter. This is just so funny I once laughed so loadly I woke everyone else in the house up =) 8.They Think It's all Over Taken from the fabulous 1966 phrase, they think it's all over is a very funny comedy quite the same as have I got news for you, but this one is all about sports. It bring in the likes of Gary Linekar who can sometimes have his moments, but mainly everyone makes fun of him. I love this program it makes me see that sport isn't all serious lol. 7.Friends This one is just a classic. It's all about 6 friends who some live together some don't and they all have there obsessions. MOnica has her obsession over clenliness, Chandler and his jokes, Rachel and her looks (and wow does she have them), Phoebe and her music and massage, Joey... Read review

Stacey's top 10 comedy series
Review of Top 10 Best Comedy Series by  LBuSBu1

Advantages: --------------------
Disadvantages: --------------------

..., the entertainer Jerry, and Ray Von the DJ all combine in an exceptional ensemble comedy. A fantastic series, the quality of which, I haven’t seen for a long time. Favourite quote or scene: Potters new car alarm which goes: You dirty bastards, I'll break your legs. Favourite quote or scene: •Friends Six Americans in their 20’s/30’s. Rachel Green is a spoilt woman who starts out by being a waitress but later ends up in the fashion world. Phoebe Buffet used to live on the streets after her dad abandoned her and her twin sister, her mother killed herself and her step-father went to prison. She is a masseuse but a guitarist and singer on the side where she plays her own songs such as ‘Smelly Cat’. Joey Tribbiani is an Italian-American and he is an actor of shows like ‘Days of our Lives’. Ross Gellar is a palaeontologist (for those who don... Read review

Grey Comedy.
Review of Comedy Theatre (London) by  timmyotoole

Advantages: Light entertainment, slightly different from usual, good value for money
Disadvantages: A poor interpretation of Pinter's play.

...’s three sons are Teddy (the eldest), Lenny and Joey. Teddy is the professor and his wife Ruth is for the duration of the play the only woman in the house. Her background is not revealed, but she and Teddy have three sons, who are left behind in America (where they live and work). Lenny is the pimp, reasonably intelligent but brutal, cynical and cold-hearted. Joey is equally brutal but lacks any intelligence or talent for anything; he would be a great boxer but as Max puts it his problem is that he can’t attack and he can’t defend. The unconvincing set changes the mood of the play, making it less serious and less real, but the lighter atmosphere does allow for the dark humour to seem slightly amusing, which makes the production enjoyable and prevents those who expected a comedy (after all it is the London Comedy Theatre) from being less... Comedy to suit all tastes
Review of Paramount Comedy Channel by  starry

Advantages: Good mix of British and American comedies
Disadvantages: Takes up too much of my time!

...then you may catch it next time around in six months time. In a few instances, this channel has obtained the rights to the British premiere of some of it’s newest and most popular shows. At the weekends, the schedule changes quite a bit because on a Saturday night, classic comedy films are shown along with live stand up comedy from both America and Britain. In the past, Paramount have had performances from Lee Evans, Harry Hill, Chris Rock, Jack Dee, Dennis Leary and Mark Lamaar. In many instances, these shows too make their premiere on British Television as they are usually only available to buy on video. Some of the American performances are not even available on video, thus what you see on Paramount is pretty much an exclusive. For those of you interested in new stand up talent, The Comedy Store (made in association with Channel 5... Read review

Classic Comedy
Review of Top 10 Best Comedy Series by  hegarty1987

Advantages: Very funny shows
Disadvantages: You may not agree with me

..., great acting and a great program. Plot: Surrounds two brothers from Peckham, Del a guy who is a dodgy second hand flogger who is always looking for a get rich quick scheme and his younger brother Rodney who lives with him. Best episode: too many Best character(s): Del boy (David Jason) a small time hustler. 6.FRASIER Frasier is another good show, a spin-off from the sit-com cheers, the show is great when Frasier and Niles have their little arguments or when Frasier’s trying to avoid an embarrassing situation. This sit-com s more intellectual than your average situation comedy with witty comments flying everywhere, I also like Marty’s sarcastic insults to his two “intellectual” sons. Plot: Surrounds a psychiatrist who hosts his own call in radio show and live with his father and spends a lot of time with his pompous... Read review

Top 10 Comedy Sitcoms
Review of Top 10 Best Comedy Series by  Maximus-Qualitus

Advantages: GREAT !!!!!!
Disadvantages: NONE !!!!!

...twiggy tree he has just up rooted. 3. Rising Damp. Rigsby, Miss Jones, Alan and Philip all living together in rigsbys guest house. Rigsby the mean old landlord with desires towards the dithering miss Jones. Alan the lazy medical student and Philip, another student, but also the alledged son of a chief. Again, similar to Faulty Towers, its a disjointed family layout. Which works fantastically well. So much so Rising Damp is endlessly repeated on TV. 4. The Young Ones. The maddest and barmiest comedy sit-com of them all. Mayhem all the way with Wik, sorry Rik, Vivian, Mike and Neil. Occasionally supported by Mr Bolofski. The four students living, correction existing, in a squalid house. The house is often wrecked, they live on rice, and they have no money and have the barmiest adventures imaginable. 5. Bottom. Rik... comedy really IS paramount...
Review of Paramount Comedy Channel by  charlie2_uk

Advantages: makes you laugh youre socks of...
Disadvantages: soooooooooooo many repeats.

...I have always been a huge fan of paramount I love nothing more than a good laugh. It all started when I was fourteen and my mum got sky, I wasn’t really interested in TV at that age I was interested in boys lol but when it came to the holidays I got hooked on a TV series called cheers, well that’s how it started. As I got older I started to watch allot of the other programs on paramount. I finally moved out and lived on my own, I had to get cable and Paramount’s really all I watch. ~~~About paramount comedy channel~~~ Well the name says it all, it’s a comedy channel,It goes on air at 09.00 am and goes back off air at 04.00am, on cable it is on page 132.It shows all the classic sitcoms such as: - . Moonlighting . The Ellen show . Moesha . The cosby show . A different world . Happy days . What about Joan . Married... Read review
