Lotus Olbas!
Review of Lotus Tissues with Olbas Oil by  Leighsa

Advantages: Contains menthol and eucalyptus oils. Soft, thick, velvet feel quality tissues.
Disadvantages: Possibility of sensitivity to oils. Oils are left on hands after using.

...What are they? *************** A packet of folded handy pocket tissues. Special features? ******************* These tissues are collaboration between the makers of Lotus tissues and Olbas. Together they have come up with the concept of integrating essential oil capsules into the tissues. Developed so that the tissues can release oil vapours to help relieve nasal congestion. The tissues themselves are laced with de-mentholised mint oil, eucalyptus oil, cajuput oil, menthol and juniperberry oil. How do I use them? ********************* You can use them as you would with a handkerchief. To release the vapour of the oils the tissue needs to be opened up from its folds, then scrunched and crushed. It is recommended that one breathes in the vapours before and after blowing the nose. Are they good... Read review

Great!
Review of Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil by  kumo06

Advantages: Helps minimise scarring and oiliness
Disadvantages: Feels oily/shiny

...My brother used to have really bad acne a few years ago, and to minimalise scarring, my mum bought him the Clarins Lotus Oil. He never used it, tho, and for the last year i've also been experiencing bad acne. I've started using Tea tree oil on my face and it has cleared up my skin (although there are always going to be a few spots popping up now and then) and i've been left with some discolouration and acne scarring, so i started using Vitamin E oil and now the Clarins Lotus Oil. I used it for the first time last night, and i woke up with reduction in the discolouration of my skin! I'm so impressed. I had pink spots on the apples of my cheeks, and i used it one one side (and not the other because i still had some acne on the other side and didn't want the oil to aggravate it, but now i'm using it on both cheeks because the Lotus Oil... Full of Eastern Promise 3 - The Hair Oil
Review of Avon Planet Spa Secrets of India Hair Oil Treatment by  JeeanA

Advantages: Leaves hair smelling lovely
Disadvantages: It's only a little bottle so you don't get many applications

...scalps, but take care on the first application just to be on te safe side. What's in it? Among other things... water, hydroxyethylcellulose (an ingredient used in the 'artificial tears' type eyedrops), cetrimonium chloride (a product used to smooth the hair shaft), citric acid (used as a preservative), glycerine, Indian Lotus flower extract (nelumbo nucifera), Holy Basil leaf extract (ocimum sanctum), safflower oil (carthamus tinctorus) and Sandalwood oil (santalum album) and a product called BHT, or butylalted hydroxytoluene. This is used as an antioxidant to ensure that the product doesn't break down on exposure to the air. Does it live up to the claims? Well, in the brochure and on the Avon website we're told that the product "revitalises all hair types" and "feels warm and soothing as you massage into the scalp, whilst making hair... Read review

Release the vapours
Review of Lotus Tissues with Olbas Oil by  pink_champagne

Advantages: soft, strong tissues, olbas oil helps clear blocked nose
Disadvantages: pricey

...Usually, Olbas Oil tissues are not really the sort of thing I would have purchased, and I actually got mine free when there was an offer at the Boots Advantage point to get a free pocket pack. When I got home, they were shoved in a drawer, but recently I fished them out when I ended up getting a dreaded summer cold. These are regular paper tissues made by Lotus, which are impregnated with Olbas Oil - a product which is a mix of Dementholised Mint Oil, Eucalyptus Oil, Cajuput Oil, Menthol and Juniperberry Oil - and is usually used either neat or in an inhaler to relieve the symptoms of a cold, such as a blocked nose. The tissues are white in colour and as tissues go, quite good quality. They're thick and soft and don't fall apart straight away as some of the cheaper brands can. You will notice that around the edges of each tissue... Read review

Relief in a Tissue!
Review of Lotus Tissues with Olbas Oil by  lel1969

Advantages: Help to unblock you nose
Disadvantages: Effects don't last so long

...and promptly got ready for her ballet class. On the way to ballet we discovered that the tissues in the car had run out so I promised I would buy some more whilst she was in her class. I popped into Semi-Chem as promised to buy some tissues and was immediately drawn to the shelf by the distinct menthol smell of Olbas wafting from a packet of tissues. These ones I just had to have. The Product The manufacturers of Lotus tissues and Olbas Oil have combined forces to create these clever little tissues. These tissues can be bought in a single pocket pack containing 9 tissues for around about 49p or a family pack containing 6 of the pocket packs costing £1.29. In brightly coloured plastic packets with the top half in green displaying the Lotus name and flower and the bottom half of the packet in a warm orange colour with the Olbas... Read review

A Smelly Tissue? ARE YOU MENTHOL!?!
Review of Lotus Tissues with Olbas Oil by  Littleswamp1

Advantages: Nice natural vapour in darkest hour of a cold
Disadvantages: Not much different to other tissues

...That time of the year has arrived again! No, not the jingling of overpowering supermarkets muscling in for Christmas Cash. The sound we hear is a more sinister on SNEEZING! Yes, its winter, it's brass monkey weather and most people suffer and sniffle their way to spring. I thought that I had previously found a tissue to help me through this in the various Balsam tissues that are available. And while they do their purpose in stopping your nose going too red through irritation etc, there is a new tissue on the market that I think merits introduction. HELLO! ----------- Lotus tissues have teamed up with the makers of Olbas Oil to brin you tissues with Olbas Oil! (WOW! Who would have guessed!) For those who don't know, Olbas oil is a menthol liquid that can be dropped onto a handkerchief or similar in the same way that Vicks... Read review

xx Assume the Lotus! Kiss My Bum! xx
Review of Lotus Freshness toilet tissue by  susie191

Advantages: It's really soft and prettily patterned
Disadvantages: Luxury price tag. Fragranced tube!

...It's a bit hot for yoga in this heatwave. Never mind, I can't assume the lotus anyway. Can you? Cheeky Tissue ≈≈☼≈≈≈≈☼≈≈ 'Soft as a babys' bottom', a well known phrase in everyday use. But what of bigger bottoms? As bottoms grow, they still need caring for. Bottoms of course come in all shapes and sizes but their function is extremely important. So, let's not get anal about bottoms or make them the butt of all jokes, let us appreciate our bums. Have you noticed that bottoms are becoming more noticed through the likes of adverts for cars, ♫ I see ya baby, shakin that ass ♫, as well as the 'love your bum' campaign by Double Velvet? Incidentally, Double Velvet has now turned a new leaf and become Triple Velvet. How did that happen? When it comes to bums, I... Read review

The story of my Lotus Elise
Review of Lotus Elise S1 (1996-2000) by  kathryn.rosling

Advantages: Puts a smile on your face
Disadvantages: Some say its uncomfortable and impractical - not me

...This is the story of my love afffair with this car. Once upon a time........ There was a girl who loved sports cars, she owned an MX5 (no sniggers or jokes about hairdressers please) but always lusted after something special. An Aston maybe... ah back to the land of dreams. Anyway it is now early 1996 and I am sat in the back of a car travelling to a work course. I am just gazing out of the window watching the cars go by, when this small yellow car passes us. We all notice it, not like any car we have seen before it is low, fast , mini supercar looking and shoots round the roundabout in front and disapears. I shout what was that I want one! Some time later and I'm watching Top Gear , they are reviewing the new Lotus. It comes on the screen and I shout (again!) thats the car I saw . Can we go see it pleeeeese... Read review

Lotus 2 Rocks!
Review of Lotus 2 RECS (MegaDrive) by  tom1clare

Advantages: Great fun, huge variety in the circuits, superb two-player mode, decent visuals, strong longevity
Disadvantages: Can frustrate at times, quite basic by todays standards, tricky to find these days

...In the mid-nineties, the world was introduced to game consoles that finally had the power to deliver accurate 3D environments and playing levels. Suddenly a host of new genres were born out of this phenomenon; 3D platforming and survival-horror to name but a couple. It wasn’t all good news though – scrolling beat ‘em ups and 2D arcade-racing games would become all but extinct in this new age of technology. So why the history lesson? Well, for what its worth, Lotus 2 RECS was one of the last great titles based upon the now-obsolete 2D racing genre. Back in a time when EA were still referred to as ‘Electronic Arts’ and known not for their endless FIFA updates but for unashamedly playable 16-bit titles, L2R would prove to be one of their best efforts. Ironically, the one sequel they put such effort in to would turn out to be one... Read review

The M100 Lotus Elan: a classic roadster
Review of Lotus Elan by  fallon005

Advantages: Classic good looks and affordable rag-top fun
Disadvantages: Leak-prone hood

...Having just sold my 1990 "Lotus Racing Green" Lotus Elan S1, I thought I'd share my experience of owing this ground-breaking car. The Lotus brief was a two-seater roadster that would appeal to the American market. With this in mind, it's easy to see why the cabin appears so spacious - American's don't like to be cramped! The windscreen is shallow-angled and you get the feeling of being in a much larger car as the dashboard stetches away in front of you. The driving position is "proper sportscar", low slung but extremely comfortable - the drivers seat on some examples can benefit from minor TLC having been subjected to ten years or more of use. The comforting smell of fibreglass as you enter the cabin is one common to all Lotus', but on particularly damp days, can be overridden by the gentle waft of damp carpet! I've never met...
