xx Assume the Lotus! Kiss My Bum! xx
Review of Lotus Freshness toilet tissue by
susie191
Advantages: It's really soft and prettily patterned
Disadvantages: Luxury price tag. Fragranced tube!
...It's a bit hot for yoga in this heatwave. Never mind, I can't assume the lotus anyway. Can you?
Cheeky Tissue

'Soft as a babys' bottom', a well known phrase in everyday use. But what of bigger bottoms? As bottoms grow, they still need caring for. Bottoms of course come in all shapes and sizes but their function is extremely important. So, let's not get anal about bottoms or make them the butt of all jokes, let us appreciate our bums. Have you noticed that bottoms are becoming more noticed through the likes of adverts for cars, ♫ I see ya baby, shakin that ass ♫, as well as the 'love your bum' campaign by Double Velvet? Incidentally, Double Velvet has now turned a new leaf and become Triple Velvet. How did that happen?
When it comes to bums, I...

The story of my Lotus Elise
Review of Lotus Elise S1 (1996-2000) by
kathryn.rosling
Advantages: Puts a smile on your face
Disadvantages: Some say its uncomfortable and impractical - not me
...This is the story of my love afffair with this car.
Once upon a time........
There was a girl who loved sports cars, she owned an MX5 (no sniggers or jokes about hairdressers please) but always lusted after something special. An Aston maybe... ah back to the land of dreams.
Anyway it is now early 1996 and I am sat in the back of a car travelling to a work course. I am just gazing out of the window watching the cars go by, when this small yellow car passes us. We all notice it, not like any car we have seen before it is low, fast , mini supercar looking and shoots round the roundabout in front and disapears. I shout what was that I want one!
Some time later and I'm watching Top Gear , they are reviewing the new Lotus. It comes on the screen and I shout (again!) thats the car I saw . Can we go see it pleeeeese...

Lotus 2 Rocks!
Review of Lotus 2 RECS (MegaDrive) by
tom1clare
Advantages: Great fun, huge variety in the circuits, superb two-player mode, decent visuals, strong longevity
Disadvantages: Can frustrate at times, quite basic by todays standards, tricky to find these days
...In the mid-nineties, the world was introduced to game consoles that finally had the power to deliver accurate 3D environments and playing levels. Suddenly a host of new genres were born out of this phenomenon; 3D platforming and survival-horror to name but a couple. It wasn’t all good news though – scrolling beat ‘em ups and 2D arcade-racing games would become all but extinct in this new age of technology.
So why the history lesson? Well, for what its worth, Lotus 2 RECS was one of the last great titles based upon the now-obsolete 2D racing genre. Back in a time when EA were still referred to as ‘Electronic Arts’ and known not for their endless FIFA updates but for unashamedly playable 16-bit titles, L2R would prove to be one of their best efforts. Ironically, the one sequel they put such effort in to would turn out to be one...

The M100 Lotus Elan: a classic roadster
Review of Lotus Elan by
fallon005
Advantages: Classic good looks and affordable rag-top fun
Disadvantages: Leak-prone hood
...Having just sold my 1990 "Lotus Racing Green" Lotus Elan S1, I thought I'd share my experience of owing this ground-breaking car.
The Lotus brief was a two-seater roadster that would appeal to the American market. With this in mind, it's easy to see why the cabin appears so spacious - American's don't like to be cramped!
The windscreen is shallow-angled and you get the feeling of being in a much larger car as the dashboard stetches away in front of you. The driving position is "proper sportscar", low slung but extremely comfortable - the drivers seat on some examples can benefit from minor TLC having been subjected to ten years or more of use.
The comforting smell of fibreglass as you enter the cabin is one common to all Lotus', but on particularly damp days, can be overridden by the gentle waft of damp carpet!
I've never met...

Historic Lotus Register
Review of Historic Lotus Register by
PeterTRoss
Advantages: Invaluable for anyone owning or restoring a historic Lotus car. Excellent quarterly magazine. Modest subscription.
Disadvantages: Not enough colour in magazine. Few events for overseas members.
...I first joined the club in 1999 and was impressed by the high standard of the club's magazine "Historic Lotus". The club is a "must" for anyone with a historic Lotus car, particularly if it needs to be restored, as there is a wealth of experience amongst the members about who to go to for help, parts, materials and know-how,
It is also a rewarding source of information on the early days of the Lotus company, and many of the pioneers are members of the club and contribute their memory of events.
The club does not organise its own competitive events, but being affiliated to the Motor Sports Asoociation (MSA) it is often invited to track days and other events.
The club magazine now appears quarterly, and the modest subscription of £20 for UK residents and £25 for overseas members has not changed for the last five years.
Each...

Lotus Exige 240R . . . .The supercharged one!
Review of Lotus Exige by
swindan
Advantages: Styling,Speed,Cheap-ish,Limited numbers
Disadvantages: Limited numbers,Little/no rear window,Not many toys
...Firstly this is no normal Exige this is the 240R. That means it has 240bhp and is very light, 930kg in fact. So as you would expect it hits 60mph in 3.9secs and then roars on to a limited top speed of 155mph. They will be very exclusive, as only 50 have been made! I was one of the lucky few that were able to get a drive in one before they all sold out! Lotus has a very clear market in mind for this car. That market is the people who will drive it to work in the week and then take it to a track at the weekends. This is shown in a couple of areas, the manual for this car comes with advice and tips of how to set up the cup for every major circuit in Europe! This means it is very easy to change the suspension etc. Also another clue is that there is almost no rear view as the back window is slatted and in the way of the gaps is a whacking...

...this was my previuos car an i sorry to have to sell it as i need something a bit more practical an cheap :(
but it was a dream to drive and with the always looming question why dont i track it as i went to a few lotus meets an the community is so friendly and fun and i didnt drive past a single lotus that didnt flash an wave at me!!!

Twinings Lotus Green Tea
Review of Twinings Lotus Green Tea by
Zedex
Advantages: A slightly different flavour to normal green tea
Disadvantages: A bit sickly, not flavoursome enough
...I'm on a tea roll.
Having tried and loved Twinings Earl Grey Green Tea, I saw their Lotus green tea in the supermarket and thought I'd give it a go. It's marketed as "delicately flavoured with delicious orange" so I thought, given the overpoweringly refreshing flavour of their earl grey green tea, that this would be similar but only orange instead of earl grey. I was wrong.
You get 20 t-bags in a 50g lime green cardboard box, which has similar packaging to their fruity herbal teas. This costs £1.09 from Tescos, and you can get it at other supermarkets and also health food stores like Holland and Barrett. The ingredients are: Green Tea, Orange Flavouring, Lotus Flower Heads (1%)
You brew the tea for 2 mins (any more makes it bitter, the box says, which is true) and you don't add milk.
It's not disgusting, don't get me wrong...

Lotus Olbas!
Review of Lotus Tissues with Olbas Oil by
Leighsa
Advantages: Contains menthol and eucalyptus oils. Soft, thick, velvet feel quality tissues.
Disadvantages: Possibility of sensitivity to oils. Oils are left on hands after using.
...What are they?
***************
A packet of folded handy pocket tissues.
Special features?
*******************
These tissues are collaboration between the makers of Lotus tissues and Olbas. Together they have come up with the concept of integrating essential oil capsules into the tissues. Developed so that the tissues can release oil vapours to help relieve nasal congestion.
The tissues themselves are laced with de-mentholised mint oil, eucalyptus oil, cajuput oil, menthol and juniperberry oil.
How do I use them?
*********************
You can use them as you would with a handkerchief. To release the vapour of the oils the tissue needs to be opened up from its folds, then scrunched and crushed. It is recommended that one breathes in the vapours before and after blowing the nose.
Are they good...

Note this down.
Review of Lotus Notes Desktop 5 Complete package by
johnsy32
Advantages: lots of tools for electronic communication
Disadvantages: other e-mail applications are better for the end user
...I've been a user of lotus notes for about two years and it was forced upon me because
of joining a new company that uses Notes as their means of electronic communication. I'm not going to go too much into detail on the technical features, but I will give you my experience with the program and the features I work and how
they meet my needs and the needs of the company I work.
On my first opinion of actually opening Lotus I was a bit shocked at the design. I've noticed that a lot of big organisations use lotus notes as their means of e-mail, but I had never had any
experience with it and the only e-mail applications I had been using was Microsoft versions. The icons featured in Notes are
very different to those I have seen in any other programs and it seems they have tried as much as possible to move away from the Microsoft way...
