Reviews of manchester airport hotels
Manchester Airport Marriott Hotel
Review of Airport Marriott Hotel, Manchester by
matt_fantastic
Advantages: Just of the M56 - convenient
Disadvantages: Just of the M56 - noisy
...I stayed here for one night last week on a business trip to Manchester. I'd stayed there several times before, but they've recently renovated some of the public areas to make a new "Executive Lounge" with computers and things. Not quite sure what you need to get in there though...
The hotel is just off Junction 6 (Hale) of the M56 motorway, just 2 miles from Manchester Airport. and a 10 minute drive up the M56 to Manchester itself. This makes it quite popular for conferences and seminars, and there were a few going on there last week, one was "Effective decision making for non-executive directors of mutuals", that could have been interesting
There's a complimentary shuttle to Manchester Airport and they also offer "Park & Fly" packages (around £8 per day, I think) so you can leave your car there while you jet off...
For food...

Manchester Britannia Airport Hotel
Review of Britannia Airport Hotel, Manchester by
Lurdle
Advantages: free parking
Disadvantages: see review
...I would like to take this opportunity in sharing my experience in the Manchester Airport Hotel.
My friend and I had booked a room (no. 321) for one night in the Manchester Airport Hotel for 11th August 2007 at the cost of 49 British pounds.
Upon unpacking I noticed that of the two towels provided in the bathroom, the smaller one, showed a large very yellow stain running down the middle of it, the larger one was acceptably clean. One additional large towel could be located in the wardrobe. I rang reception and requested further towels from the young lady answering the phone. Within 2 minutes the night Manager rang back and suggested that I "look in the wardrobe". Having stated that I had indeed already done this, the "manager" started a debate with me. Here I quote from the hotel services hotel information brochure "An additional set...

Great airport hotel
Review of Radisson SAS Hotel - Manchester Airport, Manchester by
frankiecesca
Advantages: Nice room and fab location
Disadvantages: can be pricey
...The Radisson hotel at Manchester Airport is probably one of the more well known as it has now been there for quite some time and unlike a lot of others around the Airport, hasn't been bought out over the years and renamed. The hotel is set right in the heart of Manchester Airport so that all three terminals are easily accessible from it and it is easy spot if you are coming off of the motorway to the Airport as it is set right at the bottom of a hill in front of the main roundabout at the airport that has all the flags of the world on it.
Room:
The rooms at the hotel are all a decent size - they have various room types and the lower floors consist of the standard rooms and the higher floors have the upgraded rooms.
The standard rooms are nice but tend to be decorated in a more simple style whilst the upgraded rooms tend...

I stayed in the worst hotel in Britain!
Review of Britannia Airport Hotel, Manchester by
micksheff
Advantages: Good Location, Cheap
Disadvantages: So Many - See Review
...It's official I have stayed in Britain's worst hotel, or at least according to a recent survey I have. A survey undertaken by the Internet based Travel Company, tripadvisor.com found three hotels within the Britannia group of hotels within its top ten list of the worst hotels to stay in the UK.
At the very top of this poll was the Britannia Manchester Airport hotel where I had the "pleasure" of staying last October.
We chose this particular hotel because the literature promised "a hassle free start to your holiday." A search through various websites for cheap hotels around Manchester Airport brought up the details of this place at a total cost of £83 for three people sharing the same room. This price was without breakfast, which was not a problem since we were leaving before breakfast would be served anyhow. More importantly...

Radisson SAS 4 ****Hotel Charles De Gaulle Airport
Review of Radisson SAS Hotel Charles de Gaulle Airport, Paris by
2dachs
Advantages: Near Roissy Charles De Gaulle Airport
Disadvantages: Situated in a business area
...There is a free shuttle service running from the airport terminals and vice versa, however they are only small and only carry around 7 people at a time.
The hotel is situated in a business area, so you can not really walk around to see nearby villages as it is really quiet and a bit eerie after dark.
The hotel itself is clean and tidy,we had trouble to start off with as our keycard would not work to open our room, so had to be allocated another keycard and another room, this keycard also did not work so we were allocated a third card.
Check in however was quick, the shuttle service should in my opinion be larger to carry more passengers as some people had to wait for the next one.
The hotel is about six miles away from the airport and the trip takes 10-15 minutes.
The room was of normal size as hotel rooms go the bed...

Our Days in Manchester
Review of Days Hotel Manchester City, Manchester by
SusanLesley
Advantages: Clean, comfortable, good food, handy for the hospital
Disadvantages: We had one or two problems - see review
...of the hotel is
Days Hotel, Weston Building, Sackville St, Manchester, Greater Manchester, M1 3BB
It is half a kilometer from Manchester Piccadilly Railway Station and 10 kilometers from Manchester Airport. It took us about ten minutes to walk into the centre of Manchester from the hotel.
It is about 20 minutes walk from Manchester Royal Infirmary!
Directions on how to find the hotel are on the active hotels website www.activehotels.com/servlet/xmlbrochure/index.do?hotelid=217168&trkref=KWI&subid=G.1
*** Check in ***
When we finally arrived at the hotel on the day we took mom to hospital check in was efficient and quick. We just had to sign the credit card form although, as I said before, no money would be taken form our account until we checked out at the end of our stay. We were asked if we would like a key each, which was very...

Manchester Airport MAN Jewel of the North
Review of Manchester (MAN) by
Dalesman
Advantages: Good location, good facilities, warm welcome
Disadvantages: can appear to be too big sometimes
...nice continental syle coffee bar..if you are disabled there are moving walkways to get you there......and there a re good views over the apron to add to your interest..
There are covered moving walkways between terminals and on site Hotels ( albeit expensive ones !!), the airport is warm and welcoming....with the added bonus of the runways being close to the terminal area there is normally no problem with long taxying, or waiting for take off....
Manchester is an excellent alternative ot the London Airports and no doubt will in the near future be looking for T4 ( Terminal 4) as it continues to expand and cater for even more routes and visitors, it has for the aviation enthusiast an excellent viewing park with shop and snack parking and toilet facilites and superb views over the old and new runways...
Manchester has certainly tried...

YIPEE IM THE FIRST ONE TO WRITE ABOUT THIS HOTEL
Review of Thistle Manchester - Airport by
belinda9
Advantages: clean and spotless hotel, friendly staff , great food
Disadvantages: on a main road.
...to the hotel the night before we flew and stay there all refreshed, then get up in the morning and get on the plane.
The hotel I fancied the best, or was it because it was a well known name, was The Thistle near Manchester airport. We have already stayed at a Thistle Hotel in Manchester city centre, and after swapping rooms once, we found it ok. This time, we hoped for something a little more luxurious.
Jumping the gun a bit, I booked with ABC holidays and a week or so later, I received the accomodation voucher.
Dave and I was expecting the hotel to be in the airports surroundings and to leave the car there, but when we arrived, it was at least 5 miles away from the airport, but actually felt about a lot more. We found the hotel quite easily with written directions on the voucher. It's actually on Wilmslow Rd off the M60, then you follow signs...

APH Parking at Manchester
Review of Manchester Airport Parking by
indiegirl
Advantages: Inexpensive, courteous, polite service
Disadvantages: Not so easy to find, waiting around for buses to pick you up can be a pain
...of trains and coaches. Although the instructions were a little shady from the M60 anti-clockwise, everything else was pretty straightforward and I'd definitely recommend using APH if you are looking for a cheap parking option when you're off to the airport next.
APH operate 30 car parks in total from the following 16 UK airports:
Belfast
Birmingham
Bristol
Cardiff
East Midlands
Edinburgh
Gatwick
Glasgow
Heathrow
Leeds
Liverpool
Luton
Manchester
Newcastle
Prestwick
Stansted
They also offer Hotel booking and parking, travel insurance, "escape the crowds" lounges for a small premium, and car hire.
My experience with them was of excellent service, and I'd thoroughly recommend them if you're flying from any of the above airports, although it would be wise...

Fantastic Building - Awful Hotel
Review of Britannia Hotel Manchester, Manchester by
strow
Advantages: Fantastic architure and history to this Grade II listed building
Disadvantages: Now contains a cheap and noisy hotel
...provided by the in-house DJ's. Also located within the hotel complex is Jenny's Carvery, the restyled Pizzeria and the traditional and comfortable Crompton's French Restaurant and Bar.
Location wise, the Hotel is close to the city's financial sector (Mosley Street, King Streeat), shopping, two theatres and the G-Mex centre. The famous Chinatown and The Gay Village, with their dozens of bars and restaurants are also only a few minutes walk away.
There are excellent transport links right outside the hotel, which can enable any visitors easy access to most of Manchester’s most famous attractions. The City of Manchester Stadium (see my review on this) and Sportcity is only 2 miles from the Hotel. Manchester Airport is only 8 miles away and Piccadilly Station which has a direct line to the airport is a 5 minute walk. Victoria Station which...
