Reviews of map singapore

An excellent guide.
Review of Lonely Planet Singapore - Lonely Planet by Gwenllian

Advantages: Easy to use with good descriptions and transport options.
Disadvantages: Most of the information is available free while in Singapore.

...this before I went. The accompanying descriptions are accurate and helpful too. The map section has maps of the areas and also a map of the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) System. The maps are easy to follow and it's easy to work out where you are because an awful lot of shops, restaurants and places of interest are listed. I liked the walking tour section and did all but one of them. I got a bit lost doing the Chinatown one but I think that was down to me rather than the guide. I did end up where I was supposed to be but the route I took was slightly different to the one I thought I was doing. Cons: The book contains 184 pages and then 8 maps but at £10.99 I thought it was quite expensive. I found the information is the book useful before I went but when you arrive in Singapore you can pick up leaflets from everywhere and anywhere for free which... Read review

Little India, Singapore - What an experience
Review of Little India, Singapore by KELLYLOUJ

Advantages: Traditional Indian Ingredients, Clothing Stores,Allows you to experience a piece of India
Disadvantages: Pushy sellers, pressurised environment,

...I travelled to Singapore in September and having worked in the travel industry for the past 4 years had done a lot of research on exactly what I wanted to get from my holiday. Little India is a small area of Singapore where the streets have market stalls, small grocers stores and temples, basically it feels like you are in India as you walk around. After studying a tourism map of Singapore I thought it would be great to spend an afternoon walking through little India and learning about their culture. Through the streets were music stores with traditional hand made instruments, and gorgeous clothing stores that made outfits from scratch with your design and your choice of material it was lovely.. that was until we went to the indoor market and we got absolutely harrassed, each market stall wanted you to buy from them to come... Fly SIA!!
Review of Singapore Airlines - SIA by blackanddarkness

Advantages: Personal TVs, friendly cabin crew, good food and drink, clean
Disadvantages: None I can think of

...time. The airport was fabulous! Changi was the only airport I had ever been to with a Koi Pond and Garden in the centre of it!! Aswell as that, there were free internet terminals and a large selection of shops. The whole place was kept clean, which of course ties in with Singapores clean lifestyle. At 11:00 local time, we boarded another 747-400 Megatop to Auckland. This flight took 9 hours and was a nightflight. This meant that all the light went out and you could either watch a film or tv show, or try and sleep. Im not very good at sleeping on planes, because I'm too thoughtful about what it would be like when we got there, but even I managed to drift off to sleep with the moving map on screen! During this 9 hour flight, the Singapore flight attendants came around every 30 minutes with drinks, and occasionally came around with food... Read review

Singapore has it all.
Review of General: Singapore by Gwenllian

Advantages: People, food, shopping, the price.
Disadvantages: Pushy shop owners.

...'re using a guide book the it should have a map of the MRT in it) you just go to your side of the platform and wait. Trains run from 6am to midnight and at peak times they go about every three minutes and at other times every six minutes. The stops are announced both on a flashing board and over a tannoy so it's unlikely you'll have any problems. Taxis are clean and cheap and the drivers I had were friendly and more than happy to recommend places to eat or visit. I rarely used taxis though because the MRT goes practically everywhere and it's faster and cheaper. To go to Sinapore Zoo or the Night Safari (they're next to each other) you have to use a bus. Like the rest of Singapore I found the buses to be clean and efficient. You can use your Ez-link card on the buses as well which makes travelling really easy. Unlike the trains the buses don... Sentosa and hidden suprise
Review of Sentosa Island (Singapore) by KELLYLOUJ

Advantages: Plenty to see and do, great for the whole family, Easy to get around the island
Disadvantages: Prices for individual attractions on top of the entry onto Sentosa

..., golf as well as hotel accommodation and retreats. A rainforest covers 70 per cent of the 500-hectare island and is home to monitor lizards, monkeys, peacocks, parrots as well as other native fauna and flora. Sentosa has a 3.2-kilometre stretch of white sand beach, and is the only location in Singapore to offer beachfront accommodation and over 670 hotel rooms with full facilities. Accessed by cable car, bus, taxi or car, the island is open for 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. I spent 3 out of 7 days visiting Sentosa, a lot of time you might think for a small island but to be honest Singapore is a small place to visit in general. Underwater World and Dolphin Lagoon offers you the opportunity to swim with Pink Dolphins (I think I remember being told that these were home to Singapore but not sure if they do actually originate in Singapore... Singapore Airlines, The Jewel of the sky.
Review of Singapore Airlines - SIA by atlantis140

Advantages: Great First Class Air service Irrelevent of the class you fly.
Disadvantages: Flights get booked quick because of the immense popularity.

...to pause them whenever you want. Many radio stations also run on the flight for different tastes of music, plus you can also select a particular music album to play and pause in the middle or create your own play list from the wide album selection. Then for the young at heart there is a built in gameboy where you can play approximately 50 different games throughout the flight which is good for young and old alike and certainly keeps the kids entertained. You may also like to know where you are in the world at some point so you can bring up the flight path screen which shows you where you are at the moment on the map and the speed of the plane and altitude and all sorts of information. The Kris World system is so fantastic that time on board just flies by. The food is also very important on a flight and this is where Singapore airlines excel... Read review

Not one to trust completely
Review of Lonely Planet Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei - Lonely Planet by SaikatSantra

Advantages: Compact. Good detail on rural Malaysia and Brunei
Disadvantages: Out of date for big cities

...recommend it for though, is its coverage of the lesser known places, particularly in Malaysia. I wouldn't have considered going to places like Terengganu and the mulu caves if I hadn't read this book - and its coverage for these places is fabulous. These tend to be off-the-beaten-track sites where things don't change quickly so the info is also fairly accurate. Where it falls down is in its detail on the big cities. Maps become out of date overnight over there and half the phone numbers I tried were outdated. You're much better off picking up local guides once you're there. Overall? Definitely worth buying and taking if you're considering venturing into the countryside and/or Brunei. But if you're planning just a short city trip to Kuala Lumpur and/or Singapore - it's probably not your ideal companion.... Read review

Magic
Review of Singapore Airlines - SIA by Belfastgirl

Advantages: Top class service, good food, good entertainment
Disadvantages: Flights tend to be very full

...;s little touches like this that makes Singapore Airlines the great airlines that they are - and this is all in Economy class! Now onto the in flight entertainment. Each seat has it’s own little TV screen, and there is three choices of entertainment - audio, video and interactive. There are 19 audio channels, with music and short stories that suits all types of people. These are played constantly throughout the flight. Next there are 10 video channels showing 9 up to date movies and 1 classic movie. The next 3 channels are Asian movies, but these have subtitles in English if you are interested. There is also a kids channel, a discovery type channel, a comedy zone and various other channels which suit various tastes. The last channel is the flight indicator channel which shows a little map of where the plane is at that point... Read review

Making the most of a visit to Singapore
Review of General: Singapore by sef

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

...What can we tell you about… Singapore It’s difficult to know where to start. Singapore is everything you would expect it to be, lively, bustling, interesting, entertaining, expensive (but packed full of bargains depending upon what you are looking for) and great FUN! When you arrive at the airport, look out for the FREE official guides and maps, which are placed all along the walkway to Immigration. If you miss them you may have to pay for similar (but no better) versions when you get into Singapore. What is there to do? Well, I didn’t do EVERYTHING but, between the team who went out there in April 2000, we managed to tick quite a few things off the list. In the following sections we make a few observations and suggestions and, where we have our own personal input we have allocated ‘ratings’ on how good it was – (5... Read review

Opulence and a lucky dancing fountain
Review of Conrad Centennial, Singapore by purdy

Advantages: Luxurious hotel with all the facilities you would expect from a hotel of that calibre
Disadvantages: Can be expensive

...Our main holiday trip this year took us to Bali Indonesia for a ten night stay and then to Singapore for a further 5 nights. During both of these trips we were lucky enough to enjoy the luxury comfort and service of the Conrad Hotels. In Singapore we checked in to the Conrad Hotel for 3 of our 5 nights staying - we had previously booked into the Swissotel Merchant Quay booked via Travelocity but we missed the Conrad which we had grown very used too during our stay in Bali. The Conrad Centennial Hotel in Singapore can be found at Two Temasek Boulevard Singapore Tel: 65-X-6334-8888 Email: Singaporeinfo@conradhotels.com There are 509 rooms in the hotel, on over 31 floors of the hotel. Its location is in the business district of Singapore but is in close proximity to shopping mall of Suntec City and public transport meaning... Read review
