We stayed there for the first week of our honeymoon in the summer of 2002. Le Meridien Mina Seyahi is a relatively new 5 * hotel about 30 minutes drive outside of the city centre of Dubai. It stands on the shores of the Arabian Gulf beside the magnificent Jumeriah Beach. Advantages: Peaceful, Pleasent and an excellent level of service.
Disadvantages: Not close enough to the nightlife!

...My brother and I arrived in Amsterdam for the final of Euro 2000. We had not even sorted out a place to stay, however walking around for a while and being offered hotel and hostel rooms by people in the streets, we decided to go into a booking agents. We are so glad we did, within five minutes we had arranged a twin room in Le Meridien Apollo for less than £80 between us. Ten or 15 minutes in a taxi and we were there. Le Meridien Apollo, surrounded by canals and set in a peaceful part of town. It was exactly what we needed after a long day travelling. ...Le Royal Meridien Spa Beach Resort and Spa Have stayed at the Meridien Spa twice now and it has to have been one of the best hotels I have stayed in. If we are flying through Dubai it is the only place the family will stay in for a couple of days stop over. Upon arrival in Dubai, after negotiating the immigration queues. LeMeridien will meet you (if prearranged) and drive you to the resort. The hotel is situated about 25 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from the centre of Dubai. Taxis are available but last time I visited it was a nightmare trying to find one at 3 in the morning! You cannot walk from your hotel into town unless you are mad! ...This hotel is absolutely fantastic. It is centrally located just minutes from a famous cake cafe, the river Danube, shops, all the sights and the business district. When entering the hotel for the first time, your breath is immediately taken away. Le Meridien combines classic old style with all the modern facilities expected in a major hotel. There are chandliers above you and porters attending to you every need. Just a standard room is a fantastic suite, with its own entrance hall, immacultly decorated bathroom, an enormous king sized bed and a solid oak desk. Advantages: A breath of fresh air given the circumstances
Disadvantages: Would you really plan to stay at an airport hotel for longer than one night?

...Late last year on a trip from the North East of England to Tampa, Florida we were marooned for a night at Gatwick Airport (Thank you, B.A.!! Not alone were we?!!!**) – but the mechanism of our stranding is another story. Given that we were only going away for a week, losing our first night (and the planned engagements of our first day) was particularly galling. Suffice it to say that we were provided with accommodation by the airline and we certainly approached the hotel with not a little disgruntlement. THE HOTEL Le Meridien Hotel is adjacent to the North terminal of the airport and is approached from the first floor by a covered corrugated roofed walkway. ...especially considering the temperature in Dubai rarely dips below 40oC. The hotel also offers a large selection of sports and spa facilities. I can't comment on these other than to say the tennis players looked rather warm! The location of the hotel is ideal for anyone wanting to see the city. A five minute taxi ride will place you firmly in the main city centre. A twenty minute taxi drive will take you to the beach. For approximately £15 you can spend the day at the Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa. I believe the only exceptions to this are Sundays and public holidays when guests from other Meridien hotels are not accepted. The cost of this hotel is approximately £66 per night for a deluxe room. I think this is an amazing price considering all this hotel has to offer. We paid approximately £700 each for 13 nights including flights... Read review

...I first visited Dubai in April 02 not knowing quite what to expect.Fortunately I went on a trip through work and had to review and inspect certain hotels. Very little sets the hotels apart as they are all from an incredible standard.Though I have to say Le Meridien Royal Beach Spa is now my firm favourite.The service is amazing,although I experienced that in all hotels. Dubai as a city is great.The people are very friendly and courteous and so long as you respect that it is a muslim culture you will not feel uncomfortable going throught he souks etc... It is absolutely essentail to go on a jeep safari into the desert .Arabian adventures do a great night one. I have returned to Dubai 4 times now and my only gripe is that there is so much building work going on due to 'the palm' and the increased popularity of the place.I hope it does... Read review

...When we recently had a team meeting in London, a friend of mine was given the task of arranging somewhere to eat and I was tasked with finding somewhere to sleep. This was good news because I got to choose a hotel that was convenient for me. Selfish, aren’t I? Oh well. WHY I CHOSE LE MERIDIEN RUSSELL Although I do occasionally venture out further, I tend to book hotels that are close to Euston or King’s Cross railway stations because this is where most of my team arrive by train and because all our company buildings are that side of town. The last time I was in town, I stayed in the Holiday Inn in Bloomsbury, which certainly isn’t bad after its refit, but I was unable to get seven rooms for the date I had in mind.
