...Found on the dial, in the Midlands at 102.2. Galaxy Fm is the best thing that ever happened to our local radio. The D.J.'s are great, the music is bang up to date and the mixes brilliant. I particularly love breakfast time radio while on my way to work. Dave Clarke is my favourite D.J. He is also readily available for a chat on the phone or by e-mail. The Station focuses on music for the younger generation,(o.k. I admit I don't fit that catagory). The station is particularly useful for students and the crew are often turning up at colleges and universities around Birmingham. They have some great competitions. I've found that the music just doesn't sound the same on other radio stations, Galaxy's New Mix is just the best. Each D.J. session has it's own character. Advantages: Great quality, what you expect from a radio station, caters for everone.
Disadvantages: Off putting in the evening for non football fanatics.

...that live out of Nottingham. I have often been able to still hear the station when near Hertfordshire, but that is often crackly. Another good thing about the Radio station is that the Traffic and Travel reports are announced throughout the day, unlike other stations which only are annouonced during rush hour. If you ever visit the East Midlands, tune into 106.0 FM and you will know what I am on about as this is probably the best station you will ever hear.... Read review

Advantages: Latest music around the clock, with brillant DJ's.
Disadvantages: The annoying advertising, that get repeated to often.

...For just over 5 years, 97.2 Beacon Fm for the West Midlands, has been my favourite radio station. It is one of the best stations I had ever listened too. Beacon Fm is very handy as they have all the local news and weather reports, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Plus, they tell you the amount of parking spaces at the most popular shopping centres such as Merry Hill near Dudley and Wolverhampton. During the week between around 7am and 5pm they also have local road reports with 'Porky.' 'Porky' travels throughout the Black Country on his Chapel Ash Harley and reports any delays on both major roads including the motorway's and side roads, which is ideal if you are out and about travelling the West Midlands. Plus, if he does come across any accidents, he finds out when roughly the roads will be back to normal. During the morning... Read review

Advantages: much more diverse than many of the commercial stations
Disadvantages: a little middle of the road for many of the younger generation, but i love it!

...or r'n'b, then Heart Fm is definitely the station for you, with interesting, unpretentious presenters it is the most enjoyable listen on the radio. as i am in the midlands, the frequency is 100.7. this covers most of the west midlands and surrounding counties. in london i believe the frequency to be 106.2fm.... Advantages: Loads of Branches
Disadvantages: Interest rates aren't the best

...For the last 9 years i have had an account with the HSBC group. I opened my account as Young savers account when the bank was known as Midland bank. At the time i found the interest rate to be the best around. Also when i opend my account i was given a huge range of gifts such as a safe to keep money in and a calculator to work out how much money i had. When you turn 12 your young savers account becomes a Livecash bank account. Not only do you get a great interest rate but you also get a Solo card that allows you to withdraw money from an ATM and use the card in store. Not only this but when i upgraded to Livecash a was given a portable radio. Now my account is a current account and although the interest rate isn't brilliant, there are so many HSBC branches it is very convenient for me and ever since i have opened my young savers account... ...BRMB is based in Birmingham's Broad Street, probably the most famous and popular street for partying in Birmingham. They play funky up to date music throuout the day and every workday play a workplace anthem. The workplace anthem is nominated by workers listening during the day an the most popular will be mentioned and played for the relevant workers - just one way they interact with the listeners, which I think is quite good. The presenters are the sort of people that I can stand to listen to, unlike some of the other radio stations where they just get on my nerves! BRMB is a very birmingham friendly station, they will always play and support local sports, and even set up events in the area for local charity's such as "party in the park" which is always sold out and very popular. ...For a respectively priced flight booked perhaps a week or two in advance British Midland offers a large variety of services. People normally moan and groan about this industry, but all aside British Midland offers a no nonsense service. Take a few minits before buying your ticket and think about how much flexablity you really need, for just £20-£40 more you can enjoy the ability to change your return flight, £60-£100 will get you a better meal and departure time, do you really need this, think about wether you are going on business or a short trip. Service is accessble to all from Youth to students to Business and not forgetting the holiday short or long haul, think about British Midland, you'l make the right decision. British Midland offers these choices as well as other airlines but it is up to our self to make the right choice... Read review

Advantages: clean trains, good trains, nice staff

...When travelling my main weekly train journey from Burton On Trent in the Midlands to Pontefract in West Yorkshire I have a number of ways to form my journey based on changing trains either twice or 3 times. When I change 3 times I usually use the Midland Mainline service between Derby and Sheffield. The only competitor that I can use on this route is Virgin Trains. I had always tried to stick to Virgin because on this route they offer a good service. However I got on a Midland Mainline one because it was the best time to travel and I have to say I was pretty impressed with it. The train was very clean and the staff were very friendly. The journey seemed to take slightly longer than it takes on a Virgin Train but this was probably just my imagination as it is the same track and same speed limits etc..... ...My friend, Simon, used to ask me to go and do shows on Hospital Radio with him in Birmingham. The building was almost deserted and looked as if in the daytime it might have something to do with school meals or the distribution of pencil sharpeners in the West Midlands. There were shelves of programmes archived on tape and an interesting new computer system that could run the shows seamlessly with lots of prerecorded 'live' material even when the building actually was completely deserted. As well as getting me to make up songs on topical issues at five minutes notice on air, Simon would do things like playing an interview wiith Uri Geller he'd recorded at the NEC, coming straight out of it with, 'So, Flame, what do you think of Uri Geller?'
