Advantages: Good modernised collection of dance music.
Disadvantages: Maybe not what people expect from William Orbit

...William Orbit, the man who relaunched Madonna's career and dance DJ has recently divulged into a slightly alternative them for his latest albumn. He has selected 11 classical pieces of music from the likes of Vivaldi, Beethoven and Handel and added his own modern touch to create Pieces in a Modern Style. The pieces are still at a slow classical speed and are not for those who only like fast dance music. The pieces are also quite disimilar to the Ferry Corsten remixes that had so much airplay when Adagio for Strings was riding high in the charts. However as a relaxing albumn this does just the job. As a respected producer William Orbit has managed to modernise classical music and bring it to the masses.... Read review

...I graduated from salford University in 1996 after completing a four year course in Modern Languages (French and Spanish). I chose salford University as the course was a very modern course - unlike the tradtional courses of places such as Oxbridge where literature is the main basis of many parts of the course. During my time at Salford, I learned much about translation and interpretation and also spent a year abroad. The first six months I spent in Granada, Spain, as an au pair and then the University found me a job as a secretary in France for my second stint. I would truly recommend Salford if you want to go somewhere with a modern and practical outlook to courses.... Read review

Well, yes, there is a surprise as some contemporary dictionaries of modern design are very badly designed, mistaking modern design for inappropriate type fonts and garish colours, which does distract and detract from the message they are trying to put over. But this is not the case, thank goodness, with the Oxford Dictionary of Modern Design. It is exceptionally well laid out and the information contained is presented in a way that is sharp and contemporary, yet grounded in commonsense and best practice. Advantages: Good read
Disadvantages: slow to start

...This is a modern day classic, set in a post apocolyptic america, it follows the exploints of a wanderer. The book bears no resemberlance to the dire kevin costner film of the same name. As with all of Brins books, it is slow to start off with and then becomes more engrossing as you get further into the book, untill finally you cannot put the book down untill you get to the end. This is one of Brins best stand alone novels and is a good start before you read his uplift trilogies.... Read review

Advantages: 5 Class non-blockbuster films
Disadvantages: Not for the easily pleased!

...I wanted to talk about 5 films that I love that may not appeal to everyone but then thats another reason to love them, in no particular order they are : La Haine - An urban drama set in a modern paris ghetto, detailing a day in the life of 3 young men, this film is fantastic in showing how hopeless modern life can seem and how the people can be destroyed just because of their race or creed. Fight Club - Intense, provocative, visually stunning and truly questions what is modern life all about? Brad Pitt and Ed Norton are amazing, a real modern classic. The Big Blue - Luc Besson stunner, about two men and their love for a gorgeous woman, and the sea, the photography is stunning and the story is just as beautiful. The world's largest gallery of modern art, Tate Modern is housed in the old Bankside power station which had actually been in "mothballs" since the 1980's. It was the creation of Sir Giles Gilbert Scott - who was well known as the designer of Britain's red telephone box - and this new sister to the existing Tate Gallery was designed by Swiss architects Herzog and de Meuron to be accessible from all four sides. Advantages: Superb graphic, sound and gameplay
Disadvantages: Rather short single player mode

...This is undoubtedly the best FPS on the ps3 console with amazing graphics, sound and gameplay. The surroundings are extremely realistic and the wide range of weapons is fantastic. Modern warfare is definitely the best in the series and the best war game on the market. Despite all of this praise, there are some minor flaws- the single player mode is very short and if you don't have online accessibility then your gameplay is extremely limited when you have completed the game. Also, the price is fairly steep as can be expected for a game of this quality but i managed to get it pre-owned in great condition for £28- bargain! Overall though, this game is the top FPS on the console and is an absolute definite purchase not only for fans of the genre but all ps3 owners!... Read review

Advantages: Nice film, shows some dilemma in life
Disadvantages: Life has more dilemmas than that.....but I guess everyone loves to watch movies from Rose Coloured Lenses

...This film offers a look at love in the modern times. We follow the characters as they meet, fall in love and subsequently finding it hard to choose between career and love. I find this quite a practical movie giving an insight into how modern romances are affected by our other choices and priorities in life. The characters were confused as to what should be their priority, and I believe this strikes close to home for many of us. A worthy romance film taking a different look other than the 'Happily Ever After' norm. And the title 'Forget Paris'? This is because the couple met under very amazing circumstances in Paris....
