...to Luxor airport for another dose of Monarch on the way back. I personally will never book another holiday that uses Monarch flights. I am aware that standards of air travel are decreasing all the time, but Monarch is truly the pits. I suggest the airline changes its name from Monarch to Mendicant, because a beggar is more in keeping with the image it projects.... Read review

...-in-chief, powers to make treaties or send ambassadors, however the monarch is a constitutional monarch and therefore the duties are carried out by the Prime Minister and that the monarch can only be consulted, encourage and must accept the Prime Minister's and the Cabinet decisions. However, mentioned before, she can decide not to sign a bill on the grounds it is unlawful and may harm her subjects (citizens) and she may not authorize a corrupt or dictatorial Government to assume power. Fourthly, many members of the Royal family have shamed themselves and the family and we may all agree that they should not be there as they should set a standard, not misuse their power. However, they are just like any other family and should be given the benefit of the doubt as throughout the whole year they do their jobs at the end of the day and the shameful antics... Read review

Advantages: no delays - good service

...In August i went on holiday to Tenerife through Teletext on which we got a cheap and chearful deal. The hotel was very nice and all and the resort was great but what was really excellent was the service that we got from the crew on Monach Airlines. The plane was certainly not pluash at all but it was comfortable and there was no problem with delays or anything. Also the food was not bad and they brought round drinks regularly which was important to myself and my family. In fact as we had a late evening flight they provided blankets and pillows for all who wanted them. This airline did impress me and i would certainly recommend them to people who are going on holiday to europe if you have a choice because the service i was given was a1 standard. ~chris... Advantages: Good entertainment, food, big so able to solve problems.
Disadvantages: Not a mind of information but reasonably helpful

...and it was an economy class cheap charter flight. The first drink was free which is the least they could do really but it was something. The entertainment was comedy like you might find on UK Gold and very good with audio channels as well. The meal was very good for airline standards and probably better on the way back. The trolley services were good and the cabin crew (from Manchester) were very good despite the surprise flight. Inbound was much the same, without any delays and despite the problems I do look forward to travelling again with Monarch to Canada in February.... Read review

...and ground staff were very helpful in offloading our lugage from the hold, and transporting us back to the terminal building and re-arranging our flights. RELIABILITY... I have never experienced a long delay with Monarch, due to causes within their control, and the latest I have ever arrived at my destination was 2.5 hours at Manchester, due to the airport getting snowed in meaning a landing at Liverpol and staying there for nearly 2 hours before taking back off to Manchester. PRICE... Generally Monarchs prices can be higher than that of the standard european airline, british airways excluded. Although not everyone is willing to pay £75 for what you can get for £70 elsewhere the superior customer service and facilities are well worth paying that little bit extra for. Upgrades to extra legroom seats are available before or during flight, and cost... Read review

...of the flight. The crew had to change over here but this was made very difficult as passengers needed to use the toilet facilities as we wer'nt allowed during the short sector. This meant that the crew couldn't move around the cabin which lead to a lengthy wait on the ground. During the flight the service from the crew was great and one of the best from a charter airline when so many others are cutting back Monarch have kept a high standard of service and food on board. Staff were friendly and always happy to help with a smile. This was duplicated on the return journey. The big problem seemed to be the toilet situation on board. The plane had a premium class at the front of about eight rows. Obviously this meant that it was out of bounds for the rest of us in economy. This is fine and happens in the skies every where but all the toilets for economy... Read review

...children running up and down the plane for the majority of the flight! To actually book your seats you have a map of the inside of the plane and you click where you want to sit. This is extremely handy for us as a couple of the rows have one extra leg room and two standard seats, perfect if you and you partner are fairly 'normal' in size and your 'grumpy teenager' is about 6 foot 3!! Costs are: Standard seats £5.00 per person each way Extra legroom £15.00 per person each way Extra legroom Cyprus and Canary Isle £20.00 Starting to get a bit pricier already! Next is baggage and Monarch have jumped on the 'bandwagon' and started to charge for hold baggage. The cost is £3.99 per bag each way or £10.00 if you do not pre-book and pay at the airport! Advantages: good staff, good service, very helpful
Disadvantages: low budget and it shows

...wasn't expecting a palace, and I wasn't disappointed. The seats were very close together, with little legroom. I am 5ft8 and I was just about comfortable. I would think if you were taller it may be a problem. However, the plane was clean and tidy and the seat itself was comfortable. It is a cheap airline and it wasn't a long flight, you should get up and walk around anyway, as recommended by experts, to reduce the risk of DVT (deep vein thrombosis). All in all, the Monarch experience was a good one for me. The staff were all wonderful and more than willing to help, the food was above the standard I would expect from an airline (however I may be out of touch with how good they are these days), and there were no unexplained delays. I would recommend Monarch to anyone, unless you are 7 feet tall and going a long way! I now feel confident... Read review

...Well, my holiday to Zakynthos (Zante) has given me plenty to write about over the next few days! After telling you about my holiday as a whole, it's time to give the airline that got me there and brought me back, the Simmer treatment... And since they insisted on bringing me back, my review may not be too good! ;o) ~*~ CHECKING IN & BOARDING Where the excitement and anticipation begins for anybody about to jet off on their holidays!! Since my family has developed a policy of getting to the airport extremely early, we were treated to an brilliantly short check-in queue at Manchester Airport. But, I sincerely doubt that this lasted for very long. Monarch insist on having numerous desks, all labelled as check-in for 'All Monarch Flights'. I'd imagine that as the day goes on, this could get extremely inconvenient, especially for anybody... Read review
