...This is the film that sparked off all those rumours about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, were they an item were they not. The film was destined to be a hit at the box office as not only did it have two big selling stars but the press coverage it received due to the questions over their relationship helped it get even more publicity. I missed it at the cinema but rented the DVD through Amazon rentals at the weekend so here is my first ever film review. Advantages: Two main actors produce good performances
Disadvantages: Thin plot, nothing for other actors to work on

...these assignments they have to slip effortlessly into suburban live and try and be different people. This is the part that bores both of them to tears and really makes their marriage one of convenience. Finally the crunch time happens and they meet up at the same job and nearly kill each other. Once Mr and Mrs Smith realise that they are rival assassin's then the fun really begins! The highlights to watch out for in the rest of the film are weapons hidden in various locations through the house, high tech gadgetry and explosions galore. Couple that with a major domestic that will bring the house down, a superb action car chase with domestic argument and a finale in that favourite place of married couples, a home furnishing store. Advantages: A fun action romp with great chemistry between the leads

...himself in an awkward position when given the task of assassinating Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Unfortunately his comic talent has not being capitalized upon and his character does not make him plausible as a trained assassin, more like a deranged murderer. Okay, you can't really blame the cast for this film as they have done what was required by the director. The film is directed by Doug Liman who previously directed the Bourne Identity. In my opinion he did a great job with the Bourne Identity and I feel his talent maybe best in action, thrillers rather than comedies. He has done a brilliant job with the action sequences and they make up for the lack of real story. Plus he did have the benefit of 2 of the sexiest stars in Hollywood to carry the film. ...Yup, you guessed it, this film is/was to blame about all the rumours surrounding whether Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were an item or not. So, we have this film to blame for all those darned headlines that no one but those who like to keep up to date with useless gossip were interested in! So, if you've not already guessed it, this film features two A-list celebrities as its main cast. Angelina Jolie plays Jane Smith while Brad Pitt plays John Smith. Imagine being called Smith. I wonder how many people must presume you're joking when you tell them your surname!? Worse still, being called Bloggs and then naming your child "Joe". Cruel people!! :o) Well we bought this DVD not long ago and finally got around to watching it last night as there was nowt on the telly (nothing new there then for a Saturday night!) ~ THE PLOT... ...** The Movie: ** They meet, they fall in love and they get married. And whilst that could be said about Brad and Angelina in real life (almost), it is also what we see at the beginning of this movie. Brad Pitt is John Smith and Angelina is his wife Jane. Jane believes that John is an Engineer and John believes that Jane is in IT, and 5 or 6 years later (depending who you ask) the initial magic has gone and they are both going through the motions of staying in a boring, mundane marriage. The reason behind the boredom is that both of them are living a lie. John is not an Engineer and Jane is not in IT, they are both working as assassins for different organisations and stay within the marriage as a matter of convenience so they can each go and do their jobs and still be home in time for dinner at 7.
