After agonising over whether or not this was a good choice or a fatal error for my laptop (based on other reviews), I decided to try the demo and see how I got on - and now I can say that I was more than pleasantly surprised. I didn't know what Nero was, but he assured me that Nero would write to practically any disk, so I purchased the program. The package I purchased was Nero 6. and all I can say is that I haven't looked back since. I would say that Nero must be one of the most powerful CD burning facilities around and one of the easiest to understand. ...I am going to start this opinion with a useless bit of information, as will soon become my trademark... The name for this product is derieved from the burning of Rome in 64 AD, of which Nero was suspect. Hence, we have Nero Burning Rom. In early versions of Nero, a text file could be found in the installation folder which explained the origins of the softwares name, but it appears to have been removed in the more recent versions, which is a shame. So, to the product - what do I think of Nero? Well, in a nutshell, it's an excellent program for the burning of CDs. That's right, it does exactly what it says on the tin. ...Nero 5.5 is the latest CD Burning solution from Ahead. Nero has always been ahead (excuse the pun) of the field for audio CD Burning, as it features an extensive audio part of the software. Nero 5 allowed you to burn Mp3s On the fly straight onto the CD whilst Nero decoded them. I remember burning a 74min Audio CD of Mp3s with no problems at 4X using a Mitsumi CR4804TU CDRW Connected Via USB to a PC with specs of a PII 350/96MB PC100 RAM/Fujistu UMDA33 5400rpm HD/MS6156BX MB. The Nero Editing package of Nero 5 was good in version 5.5 The audio editing solution has been developed so well that it won't integrate into Nero's interface no, instead it is an entirely separate program which is so extensive it's baffling to someone like me (and I'm not computer illiterate.) ...My first trip to a Caffe Nero was a few years ago in London. I popped in quickly and grabbed a capuccino with my mum. It was a cold winters morning, very early and we were on our way for a spot of shopping in Covent Garden. The coffee was just what we needed to wake up. Since that day I have become a regular visiter to caffe Nero's in London, and to several branches in Surrey where I live. The company was founded in 1997 and so is relatively new. I had only ever seen them in London until the past year and a half when they suddenly began to pop up in all the towns I frequently find myself in. Caffe Nero now claim to have 205 stores nationwide. After the first trip to cafe Nero, one of the things that brought me back was the fact that I could smoke inside whilst enjoying my coffee. This is no longer an issue as I no longer smoke... ...Nero 7 Premium Reloaded is absolutley brilliant, the graphics are absolutley brilliant as they are designed for vista, its very easy to use with a advanced setting for more advanced users (obviously). it makes backing up your CD's and DVD's a piece of cake. This program is ideal for beginners as it s so easy to use, and is also full of helpful guides if you sopmehow manage to come unstuck. You can also make a list of your favourite TV channels and radio stations and watch/listen to them whilst doing other things on your PC using Nero home. You can now add up to 2000 images in Nerovision for your own slideshows, and add more music and videos!! it also plays all your music and movie files in Nero showtime. ...Caffe Nero provides first-class coffee that surpasses that of other leading high street coffee houses such as Starbucks and Pret a Manger. Walking into a Nero is like finding an oasis in the desert that is city life. Caffe Nero definitely live up to their name by providing "the best espresso this side of Milan". In fact, having been to Italy several times a year I can safely say that I could not tell a Nero espresso from the best Italian coffee. The beans that Nero use are Fairtrade and definitely a cut above those used in the overpriced and americanized Starbucks. I feel that Caffe Nero does exactly what one would expect from a coffee house, by providing a very relaxed atmosphere; perfect for doing business, meeting friends, or quiet personal reflection. ...I've found NERO Burning Rom (my current version v5.022) to be the most reliable burning tool that I've used yet. I've had a few drives in my PCs, both Hewlett Packard and Ricoh rewriters. The Hewlett Packard unit came with an earlier version of NERO and it made a good first impression. The explorer-style interface coupled with good reliability (hardly no coffee mats generated!) convinced me to use NERO. With NERO you can make all different kinds of CDs, from Audio CD backups fine for the car and also you can make backups of your documents in case your hard drive fails. Of course, NERO supports multisessions as well as single sessions (write-at-once). When my trusty HP unit failed I swapped to a Ricoh unit which didn't come with NERO. I wasn't impressed with the number of CDRs I wasted with Adaptec's DirectCD product and Adaptec CD... Read review
