THE IMPACT OF TOURISM ON NEW ZEALAND
Review of General: New Zealand by  Oktoberfest

Advantages: Beautiful nature
Disadvantages: Too many people

...was booming. When diggers gave up their search, the region declined. In the last few years Queenstown has taken on a new way of life because of tourism. Nowadays, the area of Queenstown offers a large number of cultural activities such as the coal museum in Westport. Furthermore, tourism has had another positive influence. Since there is a strong demand on the part of tourists to experience the Maori culture, many Maoris offer home-made souvenirs and provide bed & breakfast stays in traditional Maraes. The money they earn through these activities is used to maintain their own culture. They renovate their traditional assembly halls, sew clothes and paint their bodies in glaring colours. On the one hand the visitor can learn something about the Maori and experience their way of life but on the other hand many visitors regard Maoris as „living museums... Read review

NEW YORK- LOVE IT OR LOATH IT?
Review of New York City by  NATI

Advantages: Cheap shopping, culture, fun!
Disadvantages: Can be stressful!

..., and the atmosphere of sadness around the place is something quite unforgettable. You can also get an idea of where the Twin Towers were and the effect the gap has on the landscape when you stand on Brooklyn Bridge and look across at the Manhattan skyline. Most people have seen the Manhattan skyline on films when the Twin Towers were there, and you can really see the difference now they are gone. Brooklyn Bridge is well worth a look at, and it looks especially spectacular at night when it is lit up like a Christmas tree. The final landmark that I would recommend a look at is Central Park. It is advisable to put aside a whole day to explore the place, as it really is quite large. This is a real break from the stressful city atmosphere of the rest of New York. The pace of life is a little slower. You can sit by the fountain and watch the water... Read review

New people, new way of life.
Review of Advice for New Members by  milleniumzeus

Advantages: Hope it helps new members by relating my experience.
Disadvantages: None as long as you are aware.

...This is my 100th review on Ciao and I thought I could impart just a little of my experience so far. What better then, than to help some new aspiring members. There has not been many reviews written on this subject but it is a useful topic for beginners to Ciao. I wish I could have consulted something like this when I joined, but this category didn’t exist. There are now five reviews on this subject and this one will make six. Maybe you can read them all and learn a little from each, as each writer will have certain opinions or perceptions of Ciao. Some of this review is advice and some will be a relating of experiences I have encountered since joining. Hopefully this will assist you in making the most of what I consider to be generally an excellent site. I do not pretend to be an expert on the workings of inner ciao as some... Read review

Man I feel like a NEW woman
Review of New Woman by  Esless

Advantages: Reasonable price for the amount of good content
Disadvantages: Quite a few adverts and classifieds

...), but as a rule they print a picture of a famous starlet with the ‘big’ headline article relating to that person. They also tend to give quotes from the ‘real life’ articles just to tantalise you: Some times they can be sex related, sometimes drugs related and sometimes they can be about tragic tales. All in all, if you’re an avid reader of New Woman (like me), you don’t tend to look at the cover until you’ve got it home, as you know that there will be something of interest to you. On the cover, you will also find fashion information (for example 100 bargain buys for under £100) and competition incentives. AGE RANGE The magazine (in my opinion) is aimed at women in their mid twenties to their mid thirties. However, in saying that, I do know girls of 17/18 who read it, and my Mum also likes... 50 cent - the new breed dvd and bonus cd
Review of 50 Cent - The New Breed DVD by  reviewmania

Advantages: some of 50's old stuff when he was a G
Disadvantages: n/a

...Ok first of all i think that just about everyone has heard of 50 cent regardless of weather you like his type of music or not. This review is all about a dvd and bonus cd of 50 cent that i brought from a second hand music shop. The DVD ----------- This DVD was made in 2003/2004 so most things that i refer to from now on in this review relate to that time of my life etc. . There are 4 parts to this DVD. PART 1 The Documentary. ------------------------- 50 cent the new breed is the first documentary on this dvd, it explores in detail the life of 50 cent, from when he was coming up in the streets as a nobody, to his dealings that led to him being shot and surviving, right through to what has made him the greatest rapper of the year. Also he talks about when he met "G-unit" , selling mixtapes to get his... Read review

Nothing New!
Review of New Magazine by  Tricia24

Advantages: Cheaper than most mags at 60p
Disadvantages: Inferior to its counterparts, content not interesting enough to hold attention, tired old formula

...on the Big Brother contestants from all four years. I find this boring in the extreme but if you’re a huge fan of Big Brother it might be worth a read. This section also features yet more celebrity gossip and a page on the celebrity function of the week, Cannes Film Festival in this case. Films, Music & TV: A couple of pages rounding up the soap stories of the week as well as rating new films, albums and TV programs. All very standard stuff and not as useful as some of the other magazines because there is no actual TV guide. Back Pages: The back pages feature a host of random items such as travel, a real life story, recipes, crossword and the obligatory problem page. Perhaps reading it like this it seems as exhausting list. However I had read all I wanted to read in a little under half an hour. There are only 82 pages so New... Read review

It's New, But Not Fresh or Innovative!
Review of New Magazine by  s_jones_2003

Advantages: Only 60p so a bargain, full of gossip and info!
Disadvantages: It's all been done so many times before!

...... there's only so many of these you can take, 3 in one magazine... it's getting a bit much! * Travel - Always flick straight past this, too jealous to read about the exotic locations! * True Life - A true life confession, obviously partly made up and very emblazoned in parts! This time about selling virginity for £8,400... it gives you ideas doesn't it! There's another a couple of pages on about a shooting event between lovers... so what's new?! * Interiors - Er... what to say... furnature that no one would ever a) afford or b) want! Green spotted sofas and bizarrely shaped mirrors! * Letters / Problem Pages - No women's magazine would be complete without these, I usually spend hours poring over the problem pages, quite disappointed there was only the one here! * The Last Page - Favourite things of various stars, not really... Brand New or heard it all before...
Review of Deja Entendu - Brand New by  Robeth

Advantages: Cheap for how great it is, well constructed, greart lyrics, diverse.
Disadvantages: 1 song let down. Audiable sounds. Rather long, pretensious song names.

...- it will take your breath away. The last track on ‘DE’ - ‘Play Crack The Sky’, is a metaphorical ballad, about 2 lovers drowning out at sea, that brings a romantic end to the album. It features acoustic strummed chords and the heartfelt expression creates a feeling of loneliness and of being scared - something everyone can relate to. Unlike their use in other tracks, the delicate layers of singing and use of different singers, creates a melody. As the powerful final simile - “Need you like water in my lungs” fades out, the new, matured ‘BN’ draw their second album to a emotional closure. Overall, ‘DE’ is an extraordinary album - believe the hype - these guys are going to be big! ‘BN’ have refused to settle down nicely and be pigeon-holed, having grown both musically and lyrically since their last album, displaying maturity and wit where... New Zealand's diverse, cultural history
Review of Te Papa Tongarewa (Museum of New Zealand), Wellington by  Writing321

Advantages: Wonderful way to see New Zealand way of life, past and present
Disadvantages: None

...before and since settlement. The Maori influence is extremely accurate and reflects the part they have played in the countries history. You can move around in the Maori marae where culturally their way of life is well worth experiencing. Artwork depicts New Zealanders lives in many forms at Te Papa and expect to be a little surprised at the creative corrugated iron pieces alongside more formal creations. Motor bike enthusisast will love the iconic Britten motorbike of the late Christchurch inventor, and racer, John Britten who was and still is well loved in New Zealand. Individuals flock to Te Papa, indeed whenever I've been there it is ``Crowded House'' but groups are welcome to take part in seminars, lectures and other events which you can pick up information about either from the museum or, I believe, on the internet. My New Favourite Band
Review of Your New Favourite Band [ECD] - Hives (The) by  arcadionseyes

Advantages: loud, brilliant, upbeat, pure genius perhaps
Disadvantages: a little on the short side, if you dislike loud music chances are you won't like the Hives

...Okay - so the title is a little lame. But heck, I'm only the second person to write about 'Your New Favourite Band' and the title just seemed apt. I've bought several cd's of late, some old, some new, and of all of the cd's I have purchased, I find it is The Hives who are back in my cd player again and again. When I first played the cd, my sister (she of no discernible musical taste) asked what that 'noise' was. When I responded, and quite enthusiastically I might add, that that 'noise' was my new favourite band, she simply gave me a withering look and asked if I could kindly keep it down, if not actually change the cd. I probably could see my sister's point of view. Your New Favourite Band is definitely a very 'loud' album. Loud drums are a prominent feature, the vocalist does not so sing so much as shout and the pace... Read review
