Jardin Del Sol apartments, Playa Del Ingles
Review of Jardin Del Sol Apartments, Playa Del Ingles, Gran Canaria by
brownie1480
Advantages: Centrally located, great staff, great apartments.
Disadvantages: None
...Playa Del Ingles in Gran Canaria.....what a place! i love it there, even though i've only ever been twice in my whole life if i could afford to go every year this is the place i'd go, well here and Salou ;)
I recently went to PDI (short for Playa Del Ingles) in July 2007 for 2 weeks, with my young daughter who's 6 and my mum (don't ask lol), we were booked into the Jardin Del Sol appartments, obviously i did abit of research beforehand as i like to know what to expect when traveling with my daughter and the reviews i read were ok, like with most reviews you'll get some great ones and some not so great, where ever you stay it all depends on the person and what you yourself make of the place, but here's my 2 pence worth anyway.
It was roughly a 15 minute coach ride, possibly abit faster if your in a taxi from the airport in Las...

Holiday Village-Benalmadena, Costa Del Sol
Review of Holiday Village Benalmadena, Costa Del Sol by
deborah2709
Advantages: Good for Children
Disadvantages: Too far from resorts
...Holiday Village,Benalmadena-Costa del sol,
stayed 2 weeks from 14 july 2007
Flight
2 and a half hours with First Choice was short and on time so really good as I hate flying!!
Transfer
From Malaga airport it takes about half an hour to transfer to the hotel, it is on the outskirts of Benalmadena.
Check-in
If you fill out the registration form on your transfer it is quick and easy. The staff were curtious and pleasant at all times.
Hotel set half way between Benalmadena and Fuengirola and not good for a stroll into either, its too far from both ,catch a bus!
The Living Room
Well this was my first let-down, as before we went away we had heard there was building work going on at the back of the hotel and also at the beach club where most of the pools are located. Hearing this I called into to my First Choice shop...

Cora150892
Advantages: Great entertainment, great location, great food.

SUNSHINE ALL DAY (FOR ME) AT THE SOL LANZAROTE
Review of Sol Lanzarote Hotel by
Pmshack99
Advantages: fantastically huge balcony, nice rooms, next to beach, friendly cleaning staff
Disadvantages: reception staff fairly unfriendly, luck of draw if you get a good balcony, choice of food
...***INTRODUCTION - WHY THE SOL LANZAROTE???***
In October this year, me and Marymum (that's what I call her since her name's Mary and she's my mum) went to Lanzarote for what I felt for me was a well-deserved week in the sun after a very hectic year. The two years previous I had been on two holidays a year and this year I only got one so I was REALLY looking forward to it, as you might imagine!
I pretty much left it up to Marymum to book something as it was her who was paying - the only stipulations I gave was that it had to be the Canaries or Cyprus. After all, if I was only getting one holiday (she's had about five this year already, honestly!!!) I wanted guaranteed sunshine, and Benidorm, which was her choice, just wasn't necessarily going to cut it, whereas I knew the others were far more likely to deliver in mid October. So...

hotel sol principe is fit for a king.
Review of Hotel Sol Principe, Torremolinos, Costa del Sol by
thebigc1690
Advantages: everything about the place is an advantage.
Disadvantages: the non smoking policy (for some)
...With the exception of Tenerife I usually tend to holiday places only once, preferring to try new places rather than return to ones I have already visited. I have been to torremolinos twice now though and a large part of the reasoning behind that is this wonderful hotel (Sol Principe).
This hotel is situated alongside the beach of Playa mar approximately 2km outside the city of torremolinos. It is served by Malaga airport which is a little over 4 miles away and takes only a 15 minute transfer by coach to reach.
On approach to this hotel the first thing that caught my eye was the size of the grounds it stood in but it soon became apparent why. This hotel is actually part of a complex which includes as well as the hotel itself the Apartments Sol Principito, a fairly large private car park, a sports area, gardens, a supermarket...

Thumbs up for Sol El Mouradi hotel, Tunisia
Review of Sol El Mouradi, Port El Kantaoui by
fallenangel68
Advantages: on the beach, fantastic staff, clean
Disadvantages: a little bit out of the way
...I visited the Sol El Mouradi in April 2005. My first holiday with my partner, I was really looking forward to it and it did not disappoint!
ARRIVAL
Talk about a spectacular lobby! I had seen pictures on the internet, but didn't think it would really look that grand. But it did! Marble, impressive double staircases, chrome mirrored lifts, plush seating and plants all around, I wondered if we'd really got the right hotel! Costing around £330 per person for 10 days in April, I didn't expect it to live up to its 4* status, but it really did! The porters were wearing smart red suits and were eager to take our bags and suitcases for us, and didn't expect money like the guys at the airport did! We were shown to our room and although we had requested a sea view, we hadn't paid for one so didn't get one/ The room was fine...

How to get the best from the Costa del Sol
Review of Costa del Sol (Spain) by
madlucy
Advantages: lots to see and do, cheap flights
Disadvantages: many tacky bits
...The Costa del Sol probably has the worst reputation of any major European holiday destination. I live here and, well yes, that reputation is justified to an extent(see Bravo TV's Costa del Dosh for some examples). It is possible to have a great holiday here though even if you're not a lager lout/sex tourist/criminal and even if you don't like lying on the beach (as I don't) so here are a few ideas.
1. Places to avoid
Well I'll start with the worst bits shall I? There are one or two large towns on the Costa del Sol that are ugly and generally characterless. In particular I'd avoid Fuengirola and Benalmadena for these reasons, but even then they have their good points. It's possible to walk for over a mile in Benalmadena without seeing a Spanish person (but I think that, sadly, may be the point for some British tourists), but it...

Sol Lanzarote-Matagodora
Review of Sol Lanzarote Hotel by
p.heath
Advantages: Great for families and all round weather
Disadvantages: None
...The Sol lanzarote is situated about ten minutes from the airport, this may sound bad news but it isn't, the airport closes around midnight so there is no aircraft noise overnight, the planes come into the airport from over the sea so you don't get to much noise in the day either. The hotel is situated right across the road from the beach it's not a proper road as such but you can sometimes get traffic coming up it it's more like a path
Lanzarote is an active volcanic island but nothing to worry about they tell me there is a least 80 years before any eruptions. To see proof of the activeness of parts of the island it is well worth a trip into the national park where this can be seen. See your reps and they will sort out a trip, take the grand tour if you can you will get to see the whole island on this tour from one end to the other...

big sol
Review of Sol Campbell by
steveymacca
Advantages:
Disadvantages:
...sol campbell is usually reliable at the back for both club and country.he is captain of spurs and has been tipped to be a future england captain. he is out of form at the moment and does not appear to be at his best and reports suggest that he is on his way to man utd on a free at the end of the season.he did not have the best of tournaments in euro 2000 but then did any of the england players, especially the defenders who looked all out of sorts at the back.when sol gets back on form he will be a great asset to both spurs and england...

Hotel Sol Falco
Review of Sol Falco, Minorca by
RichardElse
Advantages: Great Entertainment and Facilities
Disadvantages: 15 Minutes walk from the Marina / Beach
...The hotel Sol Falco offers self catering, half board and full board. The service is excellent from all the staff and the facilities provided from this large complex are fantastic. The Sol Falco has its own in-house entertainment team which put on proffesional and entertaining shows nearly every night. Scuba Diving activities can be arranged on site, and plenty of space around its variety of pools. You walk into the reception with a fountain in the middle and it gives you a sense of relaxation when you arrive. The complex is very big but a security team patrol the whole site and the roads in and around the complex. The hotel is situated in the resort of Son Xoriguer which is next to the Marina of Cala n Bosch which is 15 minutes walk away, however I noted it as a disadvantage its the only one I could think of. Shops are situated on...
