O2 XDA II (UPDATED! Please re-rate!)
Review of O2 XDA 2 by
bagoproverbial
Advantages: Look and feel, features
Disadvantages: Slightly bulky
...This is an expanded version of an old, old review of my O2 XDA II Pocket PC, which I remain very happy with.
OVERVIEW:
I was given one of these by my director and have found it very useful so far. At first it felt quite cumbersome because of the bulkiness, but after a while I just didn't notice that anymore. It looks very attractive and the operating system is both familiar and intuitive. What I would say is, don't get it if you're just after a 'phone- it is expensive for such a basic requirement. But the other features, such as email, Office applications etc. make it more than worthwhile if you intend to use the more advanced aspects. Besides, I don't pay for the texts or the phone calls, which is another reason why I'm happy with it.
TEXTING:
One thing I would also add is that this has been a godsend for me when it comes...

O2 XDA Mini S Has Everything.
Review of XDA Mini S, PDA/Mobile Phone by
antdamm
Advantages: It's more than a desktop computer, in a package the size of a mobile phone.
Disadvantages: Not much onboard memory, but can easily be fixed with an SD card.
...to do anything. This makes this Phone/PDA (XDA) a real do it all phone. you can even buy a GPRS reciever and turn it into SAT NAV.
This XDA is a MUST BUY as it is small like a phone and as handy as having a PC everywhere with you. The best bit though is the price. when i purchased mine it cost £79 on O2's basic contract, which works out to be not much more than £200 in the contracts year minimum term, now thats cheap for a phone, let alone a PDA. And its worth every penny....

Is the XDA the best gadget?
Review of O2 xda by
ste231191
Advantages: Slim, cool nice
Disadvantages: Connecting to internet
...Some of like gadgets and I for one, love gadgets, when I first saw the O2 XDA I thought that there was no other gadget in the world that could beat it, at the time I wanted a PDA and a mobile phone but I had to choose one of them I took my time thinking about this and then I came across the XDA which was perfect for me but it was a little bit pricy, at first when it came out it cost £800 which is very very expensive.
Is the XDA worth all of that money? If so what is so special about it?
Well whether you're a business man or a kid who likes showing off his gadgets the XDA suits all with its wide range of features it supports. The XDA has special features even though it's a pocket pc it is a mobile phone (people may say you have a brick) it supports the features of a mobile phone: you can call (obviously) you can send and receive...

O2 xda
Review of O2 XDA by
gpk115
Advantages: Good screen
Disadvantages: pricy although can be bought second hand for cheaper
...these can be adjusted to link to whatever function or program you like. Below the screen are the "call" and "end call" buttons on either side of a five-way direction key, which we still can't discern a use for. The on/off button is on the top left, and the volume button is on the left side of the PDA.
An SD card memory expansion slot is in the bottom of the phone. All in all, I found the layout uncluttered and easy to use.
Information can be entered into the xda via one of two ways. If handwriting recognition worries you, the xda will pop up an onscreen keyboard, although this is undoubtedly the slower of the two entry methods. The handwriting software did a good job of reading most letters, save for any that require multiple pen strokes.
To connect to a PC you can use either infrared or the supplied USB cable. It was easy to set up...

PDA's have come such a long way......
Review of O2 Xda IIs by
aerob
Advantages: excellent features, easy to use, wonderful piece of technology
Disadvantages: battery life, needs a case
...A few months ago i was given an O2 XDA as part of my job, and a few months later the screen cracked, and well it broke!
So, i sent it back and was told i would be getting a replacement, and a few days later, i was given another PDA, but this time i was given an XDA IIs.
The XDA IIs, is without a doubt an amazing piece of technology, and PDA's have come a long way since they were first launched.
I get it for free (business needs) but you can expect to pay around £150 for it, yes you may be able to get it cheaper by shopping around but i would reccomend buying from a reputable mobile phone shop.
The XDA is like most normal PDA's i have come across, but can do more. There are a long list of features the XDA has, such as:
Camera + Video
Full Microsoft software included (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
Internet access...

O2 XDA Trion
Review of O2 XDA Trion by
alegresley
Advantages: Reliable, 3G and Wireless with office package and outlook sync
Disadvantages: Thirsty processor reduces battery life to about 2 days.
...Where do I start? I bought the trion as an upgrade to replace my O2 XDA Mini S. Let me begin by describing the cons of the device:
1) At 2.0 Megapixels the camera is woefully inadequate
2) Whilst Running Windows Mobile 6.0, I am still unable to view online video, like BBC news broadcasts or youtube
3) With all functions running (bluetooth wireless etc) the battery lasts about 48hrs maximum.
4) I have noticed the occasional 'slowdown' as a result of running several programmes at once.
5) The on/standyby button seems to have a mind of its own as to how long you need to hold it down before the screen lights up.
But enough of all this negativity. In comparison to my mini s it is very much the next generation. For starters it features a 400MHz processor and I am old enough to remember high spec laptops having a similar speed...

Good PDA and Phone combo
Review of XDA Mini S, PDA/Mobile Phone by
alvinlwh
Advantages: Keyboard, WiFi connection
Disadvantages: Size, Slow performance, Crashes often
...I had use this XDA for about 10 months now. Got it for a bargain price off O2's website - £49.99 @ £19/month for 12 months. It is even cheaper than this today.
The performance of this phone is quite slow, and it just freezes often, usually when do you remove it from an ActiveSync. Sometimes I feel like smashing it. But of course the correct solution is to hit the reset button, which is not ideal. Which brings me to the next point. After the reset, it will take about 2 minutes before it will be ready for use.
Features wise, it is pretty much Windows Mobile, so if you are a PDA user, there is nothing much to say about it. Other than it is SLOW. The main selling point for this PDA is that it comes with a QWERTY keyboard which makes typing really easy and fast. Way faster than any script or handwriting software on a PDA. This is very...

O2's XDA II
Review of O2 xda by
NeilsCiao
Advantages: Phone, e-mail, sms, internet capable Pocket PC
Disadvantages: Needs reloading completely when it loses its charge
...Firstly I love this pocket PC. It's supplied by work so it has all of the bells and whistles and I don't have to pay a thing (a definate bonus). That said I don't know what anything costs for it.
The main disadvantage is that the battery only lasts three days if you don't use it. Admittedly you can turn flight mode on to lengthen the battery time (you can't actually turn the XDA off) but that means that you lose the messaging, e-mail and phone facilities until you turn flight mode off. If the main battery gets down to 15% (I think) then it stops you being able to turn the screen on (the main battery drain) and if the main battery goes down to 0% you've got about half-an-hour to get it on charge before everything gets wiped. This means that it has to be resyncronized with your computer and all of the software and files reloaded...

O2 XDA2i
Review of O2 XDA IIi by
AndrewIsANGERED
Advantages: It Has/Is PDA, Phone, Windows Mobile 2003, Wifi, Bluetooth
Disadvantages: Battery Could Be Better
...This is an excellent Mobile Phone/PDA
The PDA aspect of this device can pretty much handle anything you can throw at it with its 128mb ram and 500+mhz processor.
The 3.5" screen is perfect for watching movies on the go (if your memory card is large enough)
The internal 128Mb persistent storage is also handy for what ever you want to store on it (personally I use it for mp3s and backups)
Features and opinions
IrDA - I have only ever used this once on this device and was rather slow (as it is slow IR on the device)
Bluetooth - I Have NEVER had a problem with the Bluetooth on this device it has always been reliable and fast no matter what i have connected it to (Phones, PCs, Printers etc..)
WIFI - The range for this is superb fast and reliable as with Bluetooth I have never had a problem with this apart from the fact...

Mobile/pda from O2
Review of O2 XDA 2 by
bubblegirl2001
Advantages: Big screen, full qwerty keyboard, looks swanky, can access the net and lots of cool games and programs
Disadvantages: Camera is terrible and battery doesnt last long
...I've been looking around for a new phone for ages and being a gadget lover, I was looking for something with a bit of meat on it. I'd looked at the phone on various sites but was still undecided, that all changed as soon as I passed the O2 shop last week. I went in just to 'take a quick look' and 10 minutes later left with a shiny carrier bag. Fast forward to now and after a weeks worth of playing around with it, here's what I think....
The phone has a nice weight to it and doesnt feel cheap, the fantastic large, bright screen is great, it's a touchscreen and very responsive. It comes with a stylus pen to use, which slots into the phone casing when not in use, you can also you the navigation buttons at the bottom of the phone and there are some shortcut buttons that take you to internet explorer and your messages.
The full qwerty...
