Outback Hunter Barbecue
Review of Black Knight Charcoal BBQ by
Shekera
Advantages: Easy to use and ready in minutes due to its high power.
Disadvantages: The price, it does not come cheap at over £200.
...The Outback Hunter is a robust family sized gas-fired, hooded barbeque with a cooking area of 60 x 50 cm. It has three burners and the hood is a single piece which is manufactured from Japanese steel and coated in German porcelain which provides protection against rusting and corrosion. Two of the burners support grills and the third has a reversible hotplate/griddle which is suitable for all types of cooking, including frying eggs and pancakes.
The Hunter has loads of features not found on other barbecues, for instance:
- Heat indicator
- Warming racks which "swing away"
- Porcelain coated heavy cast iron grill and gridde
- Cast iron burners with 'integra' spark safety ignition systems
- Hammertone finish lid
- Sustainable solid hardwood base
All Outback barbecues come with full CE markings.
There are also many extras which can...

BBQ from heaven
Review of Outback Excel 300 by
Miskah
Advantages: even heat, not hotspots, looks good ,very easy to move
Disadvantages: no viewing window
...Outback Excel 300 Gas Barbecue
Now the summers round the corner, its time to get the cover off the BBQ and have a bit of food fun. I like barbequing meat in particular, I like the aroma pf it being flamed grilled and I also like the smell to be outside as much as possible. We use ours all year round. It stands on the patio a few steps from the back door so it’s nice and handy. Because we don’t really put ours away it needs to be durable. It also needs to be fairly small 2 burners is fine. We use charcoal if we are having friends round but you can’t beat gas for every day convenience
We got this Outback Excel 300 Gas Barbecue to replace a much bigger one that just took up too much room.
In the box:
It comes with
The BBq of course.
A free gas bottle cover,
A free outdoor Outback BBQ cover
Regulator,
Assembly:
the grill and lid...

Best BBQ I can find,has a rottisserie & a hood!!
Review of Outback Titanium 3 Burner by
HelenFlowers
Advantages: Excellent cooking times, stylish and easy to move around. Excellent value for Money
Disadvantages: There is not any I can find (Maybe that it does not come assembled!!)
...This barbecue is by far the best BBQ I have ever bought and was the best value I could find after many hours trawling the internet. It is relatively easy to assemble, it comes in two boxes and I assembled most of it myself within about 45mins and only required some help lifting the actual BBQ unit and hood.It came with a raincover which is a great advantage and worth £40 roughly. The BBQ cooks food very well, even heat and comes with a warming shelf which is handy when cooking for alot of people. There is one flat bed and two grills over coals. The BBq also comes with a rottisserie unt which is a great advantage, offering a different way to cook than just normal BBQ food. It comes with a unit that attaches to the side to turn the rottisserie run by batteries. As the BBQ is on wheels it makes it wasy to move around and has a shelf...

Get gassed up for your Summer BBQs.
Review of Outback Trooper Gas BBQ by
webfoot
Advantages: Just so convenient and cheap for the pleasure it gives.
Disadvantages: The gas bottle doesn't fit inside underneath where it should
...So are you bored with all those disastrous BBQs where you invite your friends round, and the heat peaks too early and only half your guests get a well cooked (burnt) burger and all the rest get Steak Tartar burgers ( RAW – get it !!). You stand there blowing frantically into dying embers sending ash everywhere , while telling everyone they’ll only be a few more minutes. That’s what happens when you use charcoal in freezing weather in a BBQ pit made out of an old oil drum
I can be stubborn too and it took me years to see the sense in buying a gas BBQ, with much digging from my wife.
To pause at this point, why is it that MEN – yes US – who often won’t set foot in the kitchen either because THEY don’t want us in there or WE think cooking is a girlie thing. BUT, - when it comes to BARBECUES, that...

Hiding Your Baggage In The Outback
Review of Baggage - Emily Barr by
Edgey
Advantages: A VERY good twist
Disadvantages: None
...This is another great book by Emily Barr.
The story is told by 2 different characters... One lving in the Australian outback and the other living in london with a journalist boyfriend.
As the stoy unravels we find that the outback is hiding some serious baggage for Daisy... But her world starts to fall apart when a backpacker from London recognises her and reports back to her journalist boyfriend.
Daisy has a dark secret to hide, that is slowly being revealed to all those so close to her.
The heat is on as Daisy tries to leave the past where it belongs...
This book has some great twists and is very exciting in places. The characters are great and you end up sympathising with Daisy rather than hating her. Baggage has a really good ending.
Another GREAT all rounder!...

Outback BBQ's don't last
Review of Outback Titanium 3 Burner by
Pablo12
Advantages: Looks nice
Disadvantages: Poor quality and doesn't last
...Outback BBQ's look amazing when you buy them but after a couple of years you realise they are made of impressively heavy but extremely cheap materials. Despite using a cover, regular cleaning and storage over winter rust set in and last week whilst having a BBQ the paint work around the cooking area caught fire - and we're talking major flames here - just to make it clear it wasn't fat but the paint which has now all been stripped off?????
My burners have also rusted through and need replacing and the hood is also starting to rust. I thought it was just me but have subsequently spoken with friends who have had similar problems.
If you want something that's nice to look at buy one - if you want one that lasts - don't bother. I'm off to buy a new BBQ and it won't be an Outback....

Tesco Instant Barbecues - great great great!
Review of Tesco Instant by
yummy.mummy
Advantages: Cheap and work great!
Disadvantages: Only disadvantage is that its not reusable
...August 2006 we moved into out new home during the summer. We had spent an absolute fortune on solicitor fees, cleaning costs (it had been empty for 18 months) and the general house moving costs that you would expect to pay.
Once we moved in we found ourselves in a dilemma. We had spent all available cash to move in and could not afford to buy non-necessity equipment like a new barbecue. But we also wanted to invite a few friends over for an intimate house warming.
We decided to buy some disposable BBQs instead as they were very cheap and we felt they would do the job. We decided to try one out on ourselves first, so that we could avoid culinary disaster in front of our friends!
We set upon buying one from Asda, and purchased a pack of sausages and some burgers and got down to it. What a mistake we made! The charcoal didn't heat quick...

Who's Afraid of the big bad wolf?
Review of Wolf Creek DVD by
Ailran
Advantages: Tense, psychological horor in the main
Disadvantages: Can get a bit gruesome for some maybe?
...Australia, land of dreams, beach parties, barbecues and back packers. A country where 30,000 people go missing every year (or so this film tells us), fortunately 90% of them turn up or are found within a month. That still leaves 3,000 people who vanish, never to be seen again, or possibly are found after one month? The Australian outback is an unforgiving place and it is possible some of these missing people just got lost there and were never found again, but then it is just as possible that what happened to them is just a little bit more down to who they met rather than where they were.
Wolf Creek tells the story of what happened to some of those missing people and is based, take note of that word, on a true story.
We open in Broome, a pleasant looking coastal town where two British girls, Chris & Lizzy, are nearing the end...

That's not a knife. Now THAT'S a knife
Review of Crocodile Dundee (Wide Screen) by
rollerskaterabbit
Advantages: funny, funny, funny
Disadvantages: none
...This was one of my favourite films from the 1980's so I couldn't wait to get hold of a copy when it came out on DVD.
MAIN CAST
Mick "Crocodile Dundee": Paul Hogan
Sue Charlton: Linda Kozlowski
PLOT
The film starts off in the Australian outback where an American journalist Sue Charlton is about to interview Mick Crocodile Dundee, an Aussie outback hero who was apparently attacked by a crocodile which bit half his leg off. Supposedly he managed to fight it off and crawl back home. In order to get her story she accompanies him around the outback to hear more about the man behind the myth. The reality is that Mick Dundee is more of a crocodile poacher and the crocodile did not actually remove his leg but bit a chunk out of it. As they travel round the outback together the pair start to become friends as Sue sees more of the hero Mick...
