Smudgey tip:- Always drain and stow away your garden hose for the winter, and they will last for years to come. This little green gem will hold 30 Meters of hose, that's a hundred feet in real money, so why not treat yourself, I can thoroughly recommend it. Advantages: Compact flat hose, can use when on reel.

...I have tried a few hose pipes over the years. The standard round hose pipe on a reel with wheels. It kinks and twists and it takes two people to wind it back onto the reel and then finding somewhere to store it because their quite bulky. The springy one was great to start with, then it just stopped springing back. So i was left with a long over stretched hose with no place to store. Then one day i was flicking through the thousands of tv channals we have these days (only about 10 useful) and i saw the Magna Flat Hose. Price was £22.95 from QVC What caught my eye was some huge truck ontop of the hose and the water was still coming out impressive or what. ...Well, we moved back to Wales, and got a garden, so my kind loving husband (fiancée at the time) said we go for the "best" the Hoselock Through flow hose and cart, with the yellow professional hose (rather than the green hose). So a trip to Argos and the best of £50 later, one hose and cart (in pieces). - Purely for watering vegetables and a few flowers I was growing for our wedding. I was keen to use it, so we unreeled the long hose and it just reached to where we needed it. ...You may not have heard of these before, and probably never used one, you may even think it is a gimmick. This is not the case, they are really rather good. Many years ago, I needed to extend my old garden hose, I did this by using an old curly "Suzi" airline from an artic, (I had been using this as a supply for my spraygun) this seemed to do the job a treat, and basically it looks like someone has pinched my idea, although I may not have been the first to think of it. Pro's No kinks like normal hosepipes. Standard fittings accept appliances made by Hozelock as well as other firms. You can plug into a lawn sprinkler, or a MiracleGro feeder, wateriing lance etc. Made by Hozelock (with a Z - take note Ciao) so quality made. ...Being a garden lover and extremely proud of my lovely lawn in most summer months, this year excluded it has required watering on a near daily basis to keep it looking lush and healthy. Not having an outside tap means that I have to run the hose from my kitchen at the back of my house down the garden and when I need to water the front garden, around my house. A long hose was needed and I found the solution in the Rehau Green Lawn 30 metre hose. Made in the traditional style with with no frills attached the Rehau hose is made from an incredibly durable plastic which has an 18 braid reinforced structure to made it feel solid to the touch without water running through it and this reduces kinks and subsequent reductions in water pressure. ...This review is on the most boring of items, the humble garden hose. However, you would be hard pressed to get by without one, and even though there seem to be millions on the market, quite a lot are of the cheap & nasty type. This one though is pure quality, no frills, but good stuff. Size:- The bore is as always half inch, or twelve & a half millimetres if you are modern. The length is 15 of your earth metres, or fifty good old feet. Weight:- 2.6 kilos, or 5 & a half Pounds, This is a good sign of quality, but not too heavy to cart around. Price:- about £8 or so. Colour:- Old fashioned green, nothing wrong with that. The hose is advertised as having greater kink resistance, extra durability, and having 18 braid reinforcement, while still being light weight. ...This review is on the hose mender by Rehau. You may think you don't need one of these, you may well be right of course. I thought so too, and having messed about in my garage for hours, using bits of copper pipe & Jubilee clips, I finally decided to get the proper kit. The Hose Mender itself is nothing special, it is simply a means of attaching one end of a hose pipe to another, in a short length. It does this very well, and although I have forgotten the price, it can't have been much more than a couple of Pounds. It was easy to do the job. and I have no regrets either, it is just a plastic fitting, nothing more, nothing less, and it is there to do a job, and it does that job very well indeed. ...Whilst I was staying on the outskirts of Newcastle I visited the Royal Quays Shopping Outlet several times and always managed to get a bargain or two. The outlet is in a nice area, easy to get to, well signposted, and good car parks. There is a very friendly tourist information office. I was however quite disappointed with the amount of shops unoccupied at that time (February 2002)and was quite glad I hadn't travelled too far. There are a couple of sets of toilets and three places to eat. The whole place was quite quiet during the week and there were no problems queuing for anything. The two larger shops there were Marks & Spencer and Nike. The Black & Decker shop had stuff at well below normal prices and if your 'join their club' you can get an extra 10% saving.
