...When our old microwave finally died after 12 years we looked for another one that would let us cook a whole chicken . I checked out our local electrical appliance type shops but couldn't see anything of a similar size to our old microwave. Then I checked our Argos catalogue and found this one. It had everything I was looking for which essentially was the same functionality and size as our old one ,whilst it had the added benefit of being stainless steel inside and out for easy cleaning, longer good looks and no peeling paint. It also had a grilling facility and a convection oven setting which I was not really bothered about but hey they were extras. ...it was and very nice too. Control centre, simplicity There are only two control knobs on the front, one for the various oven functions and the other for temperature, easy. A red light comes on above each when it's on so you can tell from a distance whether you actually did turn it off or not. The oven functions are: top and bottom heat, bottom heat only, circotherm (fan assisted) circo-roast (fan assisted grilling), defrost setting and closed door grilling, enough toys for anybody I reckon. It is also equipped with an LED clock and timer so you can risk it if you like and let it rip while you’re out partying or shopping or working or whatever. Set the timer and come home to perfectly prepared whatever was in the oven when you left! Five small buttons on the left of the glass panel under the clock, control the timer and clock settings. I have cooked Salmon, Trout, Tuna Steaks, Chicken, Steak, Lamb steaks & bacon and they have all been cooked beautifully tender and more importantly lower in fat & colestorol than conventional cooking. The big test for me was Bacon - a dieters nightmare, everybody loves bacon the smell the taste, its lovely but even grilling it on a conventional grill its still very fattening! i was intrigued to see just how much fat came out of it - i was amazed! the drip tray was overflowing and i had to use the spare one. The only down side is that it can be difficult to clean if left to go cold, it is easier to clean when still relativley hot but that really is the only down side. ...Having been disatisfied with numerous oven cleaners I have bought over the years, I bought this fantastic product from Costco. It was quite a while ago now so I can't remember the exact price but it was approximately £5 for 2 bottles of the stuff. I have since found it on the internet priced at about £6.50 at www.outofeden.co.uk ~ Packaging ~ I'm mentioning the packaging as it's a bit different to the normal run of the mill cleaners.
