My Boozy Date With Oz Clarke
Review of Vinopolis, London by
starsally
Advantages: Well planned out. Good value. informative staff.
Disadvantages: Oz hasn't called since... also if decide to swallow rather than spit you may not be able to drive home! But you are near a train station anyway.
...tantalise my taste buds and invigorate my senses with scents and flavours of wines he had chosen for me from across the globe. When I arrived I was also given another voucher something about Sapphires in Bombay… I thought this a bit forward for a first date but thought it only polite to accept.
Unfortunately Oz Clarke couldn't make it round with up…. And I was so looking forward to him giving me a few tips about wine both for my own reference and, naturally, to dazzle and impress others with at dinner parties! It all turned out alright in the end because the lady at the reception desk said that Oz had left some recordings of some notes he had made about the wine experience.
I was quite relieved that this was a premium tour. For a start it was smaller than a walkman and had headphones and a neck cord so I could go hands free. I was also...

Disgruntled of Burgundy
Review of Oz Clarke Wine Chiller by
SueMagee
Advantages: Chills or warms wine.
Disadvantages: No guidance on correct temperatures given and won't take champagne bottles.
...it tastes of is, er, cold.
Shortly before Christmas I was browsing for something else entirely when I chanced on the Oz Clarke Electric Bottle Chiller for £29.95. I've seen Oz Clarke on television and thought that he was a bit of a buffoon, but a buffoon who knew something about wine. Not only would the machine chill wines, it would also warm them, having a temperature range of 3°C to 50°C. It would, I was told, ensure that my favourite wine was served at the correct temperature. Two extras sealed the deal for me - it was wide enough to take champagne bottles and an Oz Clarke wine guide was included in the price. It was sold to the lady whose dogs were trying to do some wine tasting on the bottle she'd just put near the radiator in the dining room.
I fondly imagined that I would select my wine, say a decent Rioja, look up the correct...

The Merry Old Land of Oz
Review of The Wizard Of Oz DVD by
davey
Advantages: Timeless classic to be enjoyed by all, great story, beautiful sets, rousing musical sequences
Disadvantages: The moral seems to be (in addition to "There's no place like home") that Dorothy should kill Miss Almira Gulch
...The Wizard of Oz (1939)
Somewhere over the rainbow
way up high,
there's a land that I heard of
once in a lullaby.
Somewhere over the rainbow
skies are blue,
and the dreams that you dare to dream
really do come true.
A wicked and loveless old woman, Miss Almira Gulch, is determined to have Dorothy's beloved dog, Toto, destroyed and due to her high standing in the community she manages to obtain a Sheriff's warrant permitting her to take poor Toto away. Being that Uncle Henry and Auntie Em are law abiding citizens, they feel that they have no option but to honour the order. Dorothy is utterly distraught and running to her bedroom she collapses onto her bed, sobbing uncontrollably.
Toto, however, has ideas of his own as he stealthily escapes from the wicked women and returns to his beloved owner and friend. Dorothy...

Jim Clark 1936-1968
Review of Jim Clark by
ScottishWestie
Advantages: Greatest driver in the 1960s, a proper gentleman
Disadvantages: No longer with us
...This is a review of a number of sites in Scotland linked to the late Jim Clark which are little known about except to local residents & racing enthusiasts.
Gentlemen Jim as he was affectionately known was probably one of the greatest racing drivers of his time. A time when motor racing was all about participating & winning, not the money & glamour obsessed sport it has now become where sponsorship deals are more important than anything else.
He was born in Kilmany in Fife on the 4th March 1936, when he was four years old he moved with his parents to a farm in Duns in North Berwickshire.
Just after his 17th birthday his career as a motor racing driver started racing a Sunbeam Talbot Mk3 Saloon after joining the Berwick & District Motor Club. He also raced his friends DKW, Porsche & his Sunbeam Talbot on the local airfields...

OZ EXPERIENCE - Best Experience Of My Life
Review of Kiwi/Oz Experience by
NIKKIT
Advantages: Value for money, Flexibility, Very knowledgeable guides, Felt very safe.
Disadvantages: Honestly cannot think of any
...I initially considered Oz Experience as the company to provide my travel pass because their brightly colored leaflets complete with green buses caught my eye in a local Travel Agency and not because I had heard of them! I am so pleased that I picked up the leaflet and found out more from their web site.
Oz Experience provide so much more than just a coach pass. They are brilliant at taking you to places off the beaten track where the majority of tourists just don?t go and really give you a taste of the true Australia. They offer you the opportunity to join in with all sorts of activities and with no pressure at all.
I chose the Bruce Pass, a one way Sydney to Cairns pass valid for 6 months. There are more than 20 passes to choose from covering all areas of Australia with names such as Dunny Door and Fair Dinkum. They also...

Do it Oz Style
Review of Aerobics Oz Style - The Spirit Of Yoga DVD by
pink_champagne
Advantages: Easy to follow, great workout
Disadvantages: The inane smiling!
...I love doing exercise videos and DVD’s because firstly- no expensive gym membership, and secondly I don’t have to exercise in front of other people – terrible flashbacks of gym class!
I own a few yoga DVD’s but this one is buy far my favourite. I find yoga is too slow for my liking, but this one is a bit different, as it modifies yoga stretches to make them a bit quicker and more interesting. The DVD is split into the following sections, and as long as you do both the warm-up and cool down you can pick and choose which of the middle sections you do.
~About Aerobics Oz Style~
This is the second A.O.S. video I have done, the first being a fat burner video. Aerobics oz style is shown worldwide (I’m told by a friend it used to be on Sky One each morning), and is a series of different types of exercise all set in and around Sydney...

Clarks ShoeShops are Ten Steps Ahead!!!
Review of Clarks (Shop) by
yellowkylie
Advantages: On every highstreet, excellent customer service, lots of choice, trained staff, durable shoes.
Disadvantages: Can be quite pricey.
...REASON FOR THIS REVIEW.
My daughter Leigha Mae turned 1 on Easter Monday of this year and as birthday present from her grandma she was to get her first proper pair of shoes. Grandma wanted to buy something a little bit more expensive than the normal baby shoes and so I decided to do a little research to make sure Grandma wouldnt be disappointed.
My research didn't take to too long. It seems the only real contender for Childrens footwear is CLARKS. I thought there might have been some more highstreet stores offering quality footwear since my own childhood ventures to the shops in the early 80s but I was wrong.
I was a little weary because CLARKS have a reputation for being overpriced but I was willing to give them a try seeing as grandma was FOOTING the bill (pardon the pun).
CLARKS STORES & CUSTOMER SERVICE
Unless you...

The Wizard of Oz
Review of The Wizard Of Oz DVD by
Mel27
Advantages: Fun for most of the family
Disadvantages: Seems a little dated but that's to be expected
...The story in this glorious technicolour musical is actually an often told one but this is the definitive version most people seem to recognise. We all know the story I'm assuming but a quick re-cap is needed.
The film starts in black and white. Dorothy's dog is going to be taken away because of an alleged injury to the horrible Miss Gulch. She is a right old hag! Aunt Emily (Em) says that Toto will be safe and there's really nothing to worry about. However, Toto is taken and the old woman has the law on her side.
Some time later, when Toto has escaped, there's a tornado in Kansas soon and then when Dorothy wakes up from being hit, she's in the miraculous and also often dangerous Land of Oz. Cue the transformation to colour!
With lots of songs including "Over The Rainbow", this has been a favourite for years and is often...

Let us go on a magical journey to Oz
Review of The Wizard Of Oz DVD by
Louise90
Advantages: Fun for all the family, even if it is 60 yrs old!
Disadvantages: none
...I'm sure most of us have seen the classic 1939 film The Wizard of Oz! Dorothy, played by a then very young Judy Garland, and her little Yorkshire Terrior Toto are hurled up into the air by a tornado in her bungalow, and land in a place called Oz.
The film starts in black and white, and is wonderfully turned to colour when they reach Oz. The house lands on the wicked witch of the East. The good witch advises her the only way she can get back home is to follow the yellow brick road to see the wizard of Oz, and to wear the red slippers which the now dead witch is wearing.
So, along with the hundreds of little munchkins and the good witch to say goodbye to her, she and Toto merrily start making their way along the yellow bring road.
Along the way she is joined by 3 other characters - the tin man who wants a heart, the lion who...
