Palm IIIc top PDA
Review of Palm IIIc by
sandstorm
Advantages: Color screen, optional keyboard
Disadvantages: Diary
...I bought the Palm IIIc about 4 months ago. I wasn't completly convinced that i should do away with my diary and phonebook and replace it with a PDA. During the first month of use I still wasn't convinced that i had made the right decision, however I came to a happy compromise, which suited me and works well.
The Palm's imput via the Grafiti can be a little chalenging at times, not to say frustrating when you try to enter 'V' or 'Y' however you end up with 'U' or 'X'. But they're just minor problems which you have to adjust to. The portable folding keyboard is a must for when you first buy your Palm. To try to initially input a few hundred contacts is near immpossible, however the keyboard makes it alot easier. For contact management the Palm is a great device, it gives the ability to sort contacts via groups and then to seach the hole...

Palm TX - Launched 2005 and still the top PDA
Review of Palm TX by
jmarko
Advantages: Stable, excellent OS; masses of free software available; still the top dog.
Disadvantages: None.
...The Palm TX has been around for a while now and so you may find it a little odd that I'm writing a review of it.
More odd is the fact that the TX is still sold new, years after it first came out.
The reason? As a PDA, it has yet to be surpassed.
Not only is it extremely easy to use and connects to open wifi hotspots with ease, it also has a massive collection of free software available online - from games to productivity, from connectivity to health and wellbeing. It comes bundled with an excellent browser (Blazer) but you can also run Opera and some other browsers on it too. The email software is also more than adequate.
It is also a top multimedia player and when used in conjunction with the right software, can happily display streaming tv and, if you connect it up to a stereo, makes a handy internet radio.
If you...

Palm Zire as good as it gets for first PDA
Review of Palm Zire by
Kirki
Advantages: Easy to use, very small, affordable, battery lasts long
Disadvantages: not too many applications, basic features only
...Recently I’ve bought a Palm Zire because I ‘ve got fed up using ‘pen and paper’ and not be able to find either pen or paper when needed to jot something down or to have to buy every year a new diary for my phone numbers/ addresses and appointments. Besides I’m the sort of person who likes these new small gadgets and which, supposedly, make your life easier. So I’ve decided to get one of those ‘little thingies’ which you use a stylus to tap on the screen as I thought they looked ‘cool’ (yes I know, pathetic!)
But as I was and still am in a very tight budget I couldn’t afford anything too extravagant with spreadsheets or word documents or emailing or making coffee and tea as I can do all these at work or at home. I wanted something simple to use with basic features and very small so it could fit in my very full otherwise handbag...

Do you really need a Palm IIIc PDA
Review of Palm IIIc by
bevboys
Advantages: colour display, 8Mb memory
Disadvantages: you need to be organised to organise
...After always desiring after a PDA I took up an offer on www.letsbuyit.com making a saving of over UKŁ50.00 for the Palm IIIc. 7 days later palm anounced price cuts anyway and so to me it was just a bit of fast marketing my the auction site.
Anyway, it arrived and I proudly set up the address book etc and used it for about 2 weeks.
Now, 10 weeks later it sits in its HotSync cradle at home waiting for me to get back using it again.
PDAs are organisers, but you need to be an organised person to use one and I a not. I like scraps of paper to lose and phone numbers written on the back of my hand that get washed off.
However, the Palm IIIc does come out now and again when I need to impress my peers.
Whilst the product is obviously of good quality I would hate to see unorganised people who will never be organised in a month...

Palm Tunsten E - Ideal PDA for those on a budget
Review of Palm Tungsten E by
les-litwin
Advantages: low price, colour display, easy to use
Disadvantages: no cradle, limited expansion
...Fed up lugging a bulging filofax around? So was I, but I don't anymore. A beautiful clear colour display and generous memory is what makes this PDA stand out from its brothers. It has all the standard features you would expect: clock, calendar, note pad, address book, calculator, to-do list, etc., plus it will Hot-Sync with your copy of MS Outlook. It also has Palm's eBook software, although you can download Acrobat as well if you want. The new Graffiti 2 is easy to use, with only a few minutes required to learn. It can display photos and play MP3s, but you'll need a memory card for this. I would recommend that you go for the hard case though. Finally, rechargeable batteries and a near-universal charger complete the package. All in all, a great PDA for the price....

Palm Treo 750v - brilliant
Review of Palm Treo 750v by
Rushworth
Advantages: One machine to carry. Quick internet access. Easy to operate
Disadvantages: Lousy camera, ringtones
...Having been a heavy user of palm pda's for a few years I was reluctant to part with them, however it was getting a bind carrying my mobile phone and pda around with me. I thought long and hard about the choices and decided to stick with Palm and go for the Treo 750v. I sold my phone and pda on ebay and away I went. I have now used the Treo for 4 weeks and feel I made the right decision... why?
The treo if is has any fault is larger than my mobile phone and it took some getting used to the size, also I don't always get the same clarity with reception. I miss the palm os software and slowly I am now getting used to the windows mobile programme which is on the Treo.
I like the way that you can seamlessly move around the programmes.
I use the calendar, notes, tasks, word programme, internet explorer and messages on a regular basis. I...

Top 5 Reason to chose the Palm T/X
Review of Palm T|X by
eumatthe
Advantages: Speed, versatility, capability, and ease of use!
Disadvantages: Doesn't play well with Vista (then again what does?)
...5 Reasons I think the Palm T/X is a great find.
I began my PDA journey with the Handspring Visor , outgrew it and moved on to Handspring Visor Deluxe; bought most of the springboard modules, fax/modem, camera, memory, keyboard, etc and finally sold it and turned to the (all in one) Sony Clie NR70V (which I subsequently over worked and burned out). Thus began my 2 year search for a better PDA. I don't know why it took me so long to come back to the originator of the PDA, but I choose the Palm T/X, for five reasons.
#1. It's a Palm! One of the ONLY businesses that's still in the business of making and supporting PDA's. I have nothing against the Blackberry, Treo, I-Phone or others, but it's comforting to know that the product I bought is backed by the same business that started it. (what happened to Handspring, the Sony Clie' line...

Palm Tungsten vs Ipaq, sayonara Ipaq
Review of Palm Tungsten T by
thijsj
Advantages: small, fast, sexy, best palm ever
Disadvantages: relatively high price
...I never thought I would make the case for a palm handheld from 3com. I used to be a dedicated Ipaq fan but got increasingly disappointed with it. So I decided to take a bold step and try out the new Palm Tungsten. In one word: AMAZING! I will compare, wherever possible the Tungsten with the Ipaq. Note that I am comparing the new Tungsten with my previously owned Ipaq 3850.
For exact specifications of both PDA's I refer you to the www.palm.com and www.compaq.com
Look and feel
I always found the Ipaq sexy, but it is still a bit bulky. The Palm is not much lighter (6.2 oz vs 5.6 oz for the palm), but much smaller (length 4'' vs 5'' for the Ipaq). This is due to the fact that the bottom slides open to reveal the grafiti writing area. The garfite colored aluminium casing feels much more sturdy than the aluminium looking, though plastic...
