Buy a Palm and help spare my blushes
Review of Palm IIIxe by
free4susan
Advantages: extremely portable, 8MB storage capacity
Disadvantages: not a flash looker!, can't recharge
...looks like plastic, so I'm going to put my money on that. There is a flip cover to protect the screen. In the back there is a handy holder into which you slide the stylus when not in use, the stylus being the thin black pen-like object which you use when touching the screen. It runs on two AAA batteries. When the Palm IIIxe is turned off the screen is a vaguely greenish colour. There is also a Hotsync cradle (another plastic affair), into which you place the Palm when 'syncing' (to be explained further below).
Then again, as they say, looks aren't everything and in this case what goes on inside this Palm is a lot more impressive than the first impression it creates. It has 8MB of storage capacity. It comes with the Palm Operating System which includes a number of key applications including Date Book, Memo Pad, Mail and Address Book...

Palm Tungsten vs Ipaq, sayonara Ipaq
Review of Palm Tungsten T by
thijsj
Advantages: small, fast, sexy, best palm ever
Disadvantages: relatively high price
...(!) casing of the Ipaq. I think overall the Ipaq used to be the sexiest PDA around, but the Tungsten has certainly taken that no.1 spot. I think the Tungsten also has a much more professional look. It lies very good in your palm and the stylus comfortably expands to reveal a pen sized stylus. Very easy to handle. The only minus is the plastic protection cover, which is quite handy but scrathes easily.
Speed
Much faster than the Ipaq! I think this is also due to the simpler operating system. You can switch applications with lightning speed without keeping previous applications in RAM. This is not the case with pocket PC software, where once opened applications keep running in the background. This means that once in a while you will have to reset the Ipaq to clear its memory completely. Very annoying. The Ipaq can sometimes slow down to a crawl...

A Palm In The Hand is Worth Two In The Bush
Review of Palm M515 by
clanmac4
Advantages: Its a Great Electronic Organiser - for Organising everything in your life.
Disadvantages: It's battery life is very dependant on its usage. It taking it on buisiness for more than a couple of days - take the charger pack.
.... I set another date, lunch on Friday with my Wife, its her birthday and I set a reminder to phone the Restaurant to make reservations. The Stylus that comes with the Palm is light and easy to use, you have to master a slightly different alphabet to enter details onto the screen but if you cannot remember how to do a Q, I forget often, then you open up the on display querty keyboard and tap away to your hearts content.
0900 hrs:
I arrive at work and boot up my PC then connect my Palm to its Cradle it begins recharging and I complete a hot sync.
This synchronises my Office Outlook Address and appointments with what is held on my Palm. It also creates backup files of any Word Documents, PowerPoint presentations and Excel Spreadsheets that I may have worked on using the Palm.
The Palm has a TFT colour screen which has a backlight...

Dont stick your Tungsten at me, I Palm you up!
Review of Palm Tungsten E by
china_wolf
Advantages: Slim, large screen, portable, sexy, like a super model turned into a PDA
Disadvantages: Battery life, ugly interface, sounds like a dying giraffe sometimes
..., 'Ask me again and I will leave your shop, without paying.'
Legend. Nah I'm not talking about me, but this thin silvery device with the big touch screen and a lovely stylus to touch it up with. Who would of thought Palm would release something so cool yet so cheap.
This is a lovely device, very thin and very sexy. You would pay around £130 for it and it would feel like you paid over £200 for it, excellently designed. It's about the size of a Pocket Gameboy (you do know what a Pocket Gameboy is right?) but heavier by three times. The stylus is slightly heavy but it feels metally sturdy and strong with a soft plastic bit at the end. Perfect for using it on the touch screen without scratching it up, unlike a nerd who gets bruised easily in a stiff wind. It slides away neatly at the side of the device as if it wasn't there in the first...

Palm Zire as good as it gets for first PDA
Review of Palm Zire by
Kirki
Advantages: Easy to use, very small, affordable, battery lasts long
Disadvantages: not too many applications, basic features only
...Recently I’ve bought a Palm Zire because I ‘ve got fed up using ‘pen and paper’ and not be able to find either pen or paper when needed to jot something down or to have to buy every year a new diary for my phone numbers/ addresses and appointments. Besides I’m the sort of person who likes these new small gadgets and which, supposedly, make your life easier. So I’ve decided to get one of those ‘little thingies’ which you use a stylus to tap on the screen as I thought they looked ‘cool’ (yes I know, pathetic!)
But as I was and still am in a very tight budget I couldn’t afford anything too extravagant with spreadsheets or word documents or emailing or making coffee and tea as I can do all these at work or at home. I wanted something simple to use with basic features and very small so it could fit in my very full otherwise handbag...

My review on PalmOne Treo 650
Review of Palm Treo 650 by
ciaotalker
Advantages: Super Quality screen, easy2use keyboard, All in one device, bluetooth, infra, EDGE, lot palm based software.
Disadvantages: No Wi-Fi, low build in memory, so so battery life.
...It is actually one of my dream comes true product, plus something that i have been waiting for some long time. i still remember year ago, when i fall in love with the PalmOne Tc due to it mini keyboard & build in Wi-Fi, BUT later found out so many bad thing of this product plus the so expense price tag so i wait til today, finally a palmOne products that all in one OR what i need.
but i do understand this is not a easy review, as the Treo 650 can do TOO much plus LOT of function that you can do...so if any point that i didn't touch, you can either ask or request me to add later. BUT i will not touch any of the standard PDA or much of phone software here but only some of the point that related or new to Treo 650.
THE TREO PACKAGE

Palm Treo 680
Review of Palm Treo 680 by
AndrewPo
Advantages: Small and well made, Palm OS
Disadvantages: a bit fiddly
...This is a well thought-out device with a good touch sensitive screen and a surprisingly usable keyboard, even for people like me, with fat fingers. I have used Palm OS PDAs for many years so I have a lot of data and applications from previous devices that I want to maintain and I was keen to stay with the Palm OS operating system rather than switch to Windows at this stage. It was easy to move the Treo 680 from my Palm T5 without any loss of data. Now I only need to carry one device instead of a PDA and a phone. The stylus is a bit fiddly to use when compared to the chunky T5 one, but then the stylus is not needed as much given that the keyboard replaces the need for text entry with the stylus.
The operating system is easy to use and syncs without any problems to my old iMac (Mac OS X version 10.2.8) In the few months I have owned...

PALM TREO 750. GOOD LOOKER WITH USER PROBLEMS.
Review of Palm Treo 750 by
Hi-Spec-Tek
Advantages: IT DOES A JOB, GOOD LOOKING, SMALL.
Disadvantages: MANUFACTURERS ENGINEERING PROBLEMS
...Palm Treo 750? Oh what an item! Such a useful device for your pocket/handbag, whatever - Or so I thought!
I have had my Palm Treo 750 for about 8 months now but am not truly satisfied. This model cost in the range of £350.00 new.
The good points are: Great mobile phone, useful diary, calender and all that you need in a "portable" office. The size is right, the feel of it is good, rounded, and comfortable to use. A good user friendly hand portable PC for Internet use. It is a "good-looker" without doubt! Best style from Palm.
Not so good points: After about 4 weeks the touch screen went sluggish and then stopped working altogether! My first impressions were that I had overloaded the memory with additional software and so I unloaded it. No change! Around 50% of the operations are quickly done with touch-screen and stylus. I have...

A miracle in the palm of your hand
Review of Palm Zire 72 by
korat102
Advantages: Small, light, very well featured
Disadvantages: Blue paint around the edge rubs off
...Well, probably not a miracle to the “young’uns” bought up with todays technology but to someone who started his technical career dismantling reel-to-reel tape decks and televisions packed full of valves this little PDA truly is miraculous.
It has a full colour extremely bright touch sensitive screen on which you can set your own background image. You can even ‘fade’ the background image so it doesn’t interfere with viewing of applications. I find the new handwriting recognition harder to get used to than the old system used on the Palms but that’s probably just me being used to the older style and you can get around this ‘problem’ by calling up an onscreen keyboard on which you tap with the stylus.
The PDA comes with many built in applications which integrate seamlessly with associated applications on a PC for backup...

Palm LifeDrive Warning!
Review of Palm LifeDrive Mobile Manager by
stobbie66
Advantages: Build Quality, Looks
Disadvantages: Slow, Restarts without Warning, Poor WIFI
...I bought a Palm Life Drive a few months ago and am still living with it, although there have been a few times when I have wanted to throw it with all the force I can muster from my office window. Having been a Windows PDA user I migrated to the Palm Life drive from reading reviews but never actually using one in anger. Having done so I have to say as soon as I can justify spending some money on a new PDA I will without any hesitation.
Anyway, let's begin with the review.
1) The Case
The Palm feels well made, the case appears to be manufactured partly from metal and there are no creaks or squeaks when you apply gentle pressure to the device. The device is ipod-style in design with a simple formed case without many obvious buttons.
2) The Buttons
The on-off button is at the top of the case and requires a sideways sliding...
