...'ve met, and having been told that the accommodations are cheaper than anywhere else, the group decide not to meet up with the bus that's been sent for them. That evening, as the group are enjoying a few drinks and some great music, they are unaware that their drinks have been spiked. When they wake up in the morning, all their belongings have been stolen, and a couple they had been partying with have gone missing. They are alone and stranded without money, passports or clothes. Managing to find a small village nearby, their nightmare goes from bad to worse---the inhabitants are hostile, and they are, quite literally, being set up for the nightmarish holiday of a lifetime. Advantages: Melodic and catchy, the solos are back!
Disadvantages: bland, not as good as previous work

...As one of the most constantly evolving acts on the metal landscape, it's easy to forget that Paradise Lost began their career as one of the underpinning bands of the Northern English Doom scene. While their counterparts have in many cases remained true to the sound, or deviated into more modern incarnations, not even Nick Holmes' distinctive vocal chords lend a nod to the fact that Paradise Lost 2005 are the same band responsible for 1990's seminal release 'Lost Paradise'. After flirtations with electronica and various commercialisms, Paradise Lost have settled into playing a hybrid of gothic tinged, sample laden heavy rock with 2002's 'Symbol of Life' showing that they may well have finally found their feet. ...Paradise Lost. If you’ve read or seen a Shakespeare play, do you remember the first time? A Shakespeare virgin, trying to make sense of what the idiot was going on about. Then after the first act, it began to sink in, you suddenly realised what Shakespeare was going on about when he talked of the “the Black Ram is tupping your white ewe” (Othello, incidentally). Even the Elizabethans were sex mad! Milton in Paradise Lost is maybe not quite so humourous but he certainly questioned many aspects of religion and caused a bit of a stir in 17th Century Britain. Paradise Lost is a retelling of the Creation story from the Bible: the creation of earth, Adam and Eve and their fall from grace. Instead though it is isn’t just a brief re-hash of the Book of Genesis version, but an epic poem which goes into great detail about God... Read review

...Like Lavery's, I'd heard a lot of bad things about Paradise Lost. Apparently everyone who goes there is under 18 and spides (I'm not even going to try to define them, that's an opinion in itself) but if you're from N.I, you should know what a spide (or steek) is. The drinks are priced at around the same as most places in Belfast, £2.50 for a bottle, £3.50 for a Vodka & Red Bull. Pints were either £2.00 or £2.20 (I think - hey I can't remember a lot!). The place in itself wasn't to bad. The decor was actually quite pleasant although for a club, the dance floor seemed very small and the music was hardly inspiring. On the other hand if you like music with immense amounts of bass and lots of "untf" then it would be right up your street.
