...I went to Paris a couple of years ago and can highly recommend it. We went for a long weekend travelling by Euro. The journey was quick and comfortable. Paris is a fantastic place to visit, with trips to all the 'tourist' spots a must such as the Eiffel Tower, A list, however, is essential as there is so much to see, usually with so little time! It is easy to navigate around Paris, the Metro is easy to understand and use and it is also cheap. We even managed to fit in a trip to Disneyland, travelling via the Metro. If it is planned well, Paris is an excellent choice for a long weekend.... Read review

...My boyfriend and I travelled by Eurostar to Paris last summer and I can truly say it was the most wonderful holiday we have ever experienced. Disneyland Paris was the first stop and it is far more attractive than its American counterparts. We had to take the metro to Paris and carrying our luggage up four flights of escalators was a struggle, but it was worth it. Our first hotel was a great disappointment - Hotel Favart. It was a total dump and we were only allowed to leave and cancel our reservation after I flooded the lobby with tears. A very fast taxi journey took us to Hotel California on Rue de Berri, just of the Champs Elyesse. I will never forget turning the corner at the Place De la Concorde and seeing the Arc de Triomphe for the first time. Forget the Eiffel - Paris is about architecture and the Arc is incredible. ...Paris is a great place. I spent 3 days there but could have stayed so much longer. There are so many things to see and do. The Eiffel Tower was my highlight, the view from the top is absolutely awesome. Like London, everything is compact in the centre of Paris and it is quite easy to walk from place to place. If you need to travel further afield, the underground system in Paris is very good and very easy to navigate your way around the different lines – even though it is in French! I would also recommend the Champs-Elysees, the view from the top of there, with all the roads coming towards you is amazing. I did this climb at night, and the lights could be seen for what seemed like miles. You can get to Paris for probably £120 for a couple of nights, it is well worth it. ...The eiffel tower must be one of the most strange monuments ever built. But it is truely magnificent when you are stood looking up at it. The tower dominates the Paris skyline and is a must when you visit. However it is not a cheap place to go. To be honest I found it better to stand at the bottom and munch on a crepe than going up although the views are spectaular. Do go there but maybe don't go up I guess And the general area surrounding the tower is also worth a visit. paris is a must but only once... Read review

...So as to continue my set of opinions about Paris, I’ll talk you about the way to get in and around Paris. To do just like inhabitants, the easiest way is to use public transports. They are really developed In Paris and it’s the cheapest way to move in Paris except if you prefer walking. To travel in Paris you’ll need to buy tickets, the cheapest way is to buy a “ carnet” of ticket, a “carnet” is a pack of ten ticket, it cost 9,30 euros almost 6,3 pounds. A ticket cost 1,30 euros a piece, almost 85p. In fact if you stay a while in Paris, you should buy a pass that would allow you to use every public transport as much as you want. Such pass are valid for a week end or a week their price is various according to how long they are valid and how far you are allowed to go with it. ...Quite honestly, Paris is the most beautiful city that I have ever been to. During our holiday, we travelled around Northern France and our first stop was in Paris for three nights. We stayed in a moderately priced hotel in the 9th district (Just be careful booking hotels - our one was described as being in a lively area, which turned out to be a red light district!). Anyway, it was very central to Paris and we could easily travel to all the sites we wished to using the metro. This was an excellant service and there are stops at, or not far from each of the historical sites that visitors would wish to view. I would suggest buying a book of 10 tickets, as this worked out very cheaply and lasted us three days. The people in Paris are reasonably friendly. ...This Hotel is close to the centre of Paris, and at less than £20 a night is a marvellous find. Close to many of the grands magasins, as well as hundreds of colourful individual shops, it is a perfect base from which to explore Paris. Although the hotel rooms were not the most spacious ever encountered, all were en-suite and cleaned thoroughly everyday. Covered in posters from various 'spectacles', and with a parrot in residence in the foyer, l'Hotel des Arts was truly welcoming and well worth visiting. Local restaurants - of many different nationalities - were cheap and the friendliness of this part of Paris cannot be underestimated. Although the hustle and bustle of Parisian life was at the end of the street, the enclosed nature of the road meant that noise wasn't a problem. All in all a cheap, friendly place to stay in Paris... ...i do not recommend anyone to go here. yes the place houses a monument which is important for the history of french nationalism, but it is in a horribel part of town. the monument comes at the end of the boulevard saint-denis which to the rest of us is where by day all the trendy clothes shops are and by night ll the prodtitutes hang otu. it is an interesting area, and perhpas one that deserves to be seen to give a balanced view of paris, but it is less than pleasant. furhtermore the monument itself is plagued by mangy pigeons. there are so many other things in paris which are deserving of your attention - you can safely leave this one be....
