Reviews of park central hotel york
Dream location in Manhattan
Review of The Helmsley Park Lane, New York City by
Delicate_Orchid
Advantages: Location, cleanliness, friendliness
Disadvantages: Price
...The Helmsley Park Lane is ideally located - in particular for the first time New York tourist who wants to experience the city's charme. Opposite the hotel lies Central Park and to its right the infamous 5th Avenue with Tiffany's, FAO Schwarz and Saks no more than 5 minutes away. Close to the hotel is also a wealth of good restaurants -the Hard Rock Cafe and the Harley Davidson Cafe, as well as some more unique and fancy establishments on 57th Street.
The outside decor of the hotel is disappointing compared to the other places on Central Park South. The hotel lacks the large and luxurious entrance that one may expect to be overwhelmed with by a hotel of its class.
The standards rooms are superbly clean (with twice daily maid service). If you are looking for a true 5 star experience, however, you may be a little disappointed...

Try a bite of the Big Apple
Review of New York in general by
wiseoldowl
Advantages: Has to be seen to be appreciated.
Disadvantages: Noisy, smelly, crowded, expensive
...New York is a great site, so full of interest.Sights such as the Empire State building, The World trade Centre, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, The United Nations Building, Central Park, The Rockefeller centre, Times Square by night etc really do have to be seen to be believed.
Like any major City, however, some care is needed by visitors. Choose a hotel in central Manhattan. Be very observant in Central Park, and dont have cameras or valuables in open display. Only visit Harlem in a guided group. Be aware of the hazards of the underground, especially at night.
The restaurants and the night life are superb. The shows on Broadway alone are worth a visit. But use cabs especially at night to and from your destinations. That way you can really enjoy the City and bring home only happy memories!...

Where the Action is!
Review of The Warwick, New York City by
thomed
Advantages: Amazing Loaction, great atmosphere, excellent service
Disadvantages: Price
...For the best location in New York this is the best hotel you'll find. Just 4 blocks down from Central Park, 1 block from 5th Avenue (6th).
The rooms were excellent - each with their own safe, bathroom and all the other things you'd expect to have! The view may not be spectacular in all rooms - mine was of a wall!
In the hotel there is an excellent Italian restaurant with a great atmosphere. For light meal or drinks there is the bar just opposite.
Though you'll never run out of restaurants with the hotels fantastic location - hundreds of places to eat just round the corner. If you want to go further affield then one of the porters will get you a cab....

My Horse Drawn Ride in New York City.
Review of Central Park by
wulise
Advantages: During the Horse Drawn Ride, you are taken to safe areas but are given a feel for the park's atmosphere.
Disadvantages: You only see a very small part of the park, in the horse drawn carridge.
...the air. I knew the park was huge (like many things in New York City). Central Park is 843 acres of green, lush parkland, open to the residence and visitors of New York City. It is free too!
On arriving at the park entrance, by the Plaza Hotel, a pleasant sight met our eyes as drivers with theirs horse and traps were being prepared for the day. In New York cars are not allowed to enter the park on Sundays so it is an ideal time to take the half our ride through a small part of the park. The driver was friendly and gave us a guided tour as we past sites of interest: The Zoo, The Ice Rink use in the Films Love Story and Home Alone 2. He also pointed out other site such as Jackie Onasis's apartments and the building used in Ghostbusters.
By the way, cars are band from entering the park during the weekend, allowing the cyclist, right of way...

Great Hotel
Review of Beacon Hotel, New York City by
Raychella
Advantages: Amenities Close-by
Disadvantages: Noise if window open from street
...I stayed here about a year and a half ago now. I went to New York for a college trip.
There was 6 of us to a one bedroom suite, two double beds and one double pull-out sofa bed. It was a comfortable few nights sleep. The room also had a bathroom and small kitchenette. The kitchenette had a microwave, stove, kettle etc. Both the bedroom and living room had a tv.
Our heating wasn't working in the living room, so we informed reception. They sent someone up to repair it almost immediately, even when it was about 11.30pm.
The only slight problem was our room was facing Broadway and if you left the window open you would wake up from the morning traffic if a light sleeper!
The subway station is a little bit of a walk but not too far. The hotel is within walking distance of Central Park. There is a little supermarket directly opposite...

Great Location!
Review of Edison Hotel, New York City by
joedirt99
Advantages: Fantastic Location, Great Service, Helpful Staff,
Disadvantages: Only the View
...on 47th and Broadway. The hotel is right in the middle of New York's amazing theatre district. For anybody that loves the threatre there could possibly be no better placed hotel than the Edison. Just a couple of blocks away is the superb Shubert Theatre which features the wonderful comedic musical "Spamalot". Also, within walking distance of the Hotel, is Times Square, Central Park, The Rockefeller Centre, Empire State Building, Museum of Modern Art, Radio City music Hall and many more attractions. All wonderful places that must be visited. Macys, Saks on Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdales provide the shopping experience that you will never forget, and all within walking distance from the Edison. The Edison also has the 'Piano Bar' which is very welcoming and had a fantastic atmosphere on New Years Eve and a very wide range of Alcoholic...

Park Central Hotel
Review of Park Central, New York City by
pash123
Advantages: Superb location, comfortable accomodation, helpful staff
Disadvantages: No major disadvantages to the actual hotel itself
...In "the city that never sleeps," especially if you're visiting for the first time, it's all about site-seeing, shopping, and taking advantage of New York's endless amount of restuarants. So when choosing a hotel, it's all about location!
I took my first ever visit to New York (and certainly not my last, taking into consideration the amazing time I had there) in February 2007, for a school trip, and stayed in Park Central Hotel.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
I was delighted when we first arrived at the Park Central hotel - the immaculate lobby and reception area, with brown leather sofas and sparkling floor tiles, was classy and modern. We were greeted by friendly staff who gave us our room keys, and we went off up the lifts (we didn't fancy taking the stairs, having being accomodated on numerous floors up the building!) to our room.
ACCOMODATION...

Japanese luxuary in New York
Review of The Kitano Hotel, New York by
wulise
Advantages: Five star, good service, nice resturant, well situated for shopping and sighe seeing as well as for business
Disadvantages: Slow internet in rooms, Expensive but value for money
...I wanted to stay at the Plaza Hotel but for some reason it was fully booked. I wonder why? Oh yes there was that Hollywood Wedding going on! On my last visit to New York (late November 2000), I wished to stay in a hotel in which I would be treated as a person, instead as just another a tourist. (I found this when I stayed in a 2/3 star hotel). I would recommend that if you can afford it, go for atleast a 4/5 star hotel. I was not disappointed, with The Kitano Hotel.
The Kitano Hotel is run by the Japanese and well, the service and friendliness of all the staff was excellent. The Hotel is on Park Avenue, about three blocks down from Grand Central Station (Two blocks from 5th Avenue). It is a first class hotel with an award winning chef. There are two resturants, one which caters in Western food, whilst the other resturant is Japanese...

The BIG Apple
Review of New York City by
WednesdayAddams
Advantages: Broadening horizons, an unforgettable experience.
Disadvantages: Expensive and unbearable humidity in the summer
...was approaching the park, skyscrapers disappearing into the clouds either side of me when suddenly Central Park was in front of me, like an oasis in a desert, it certainly doesn't look like it belongs in a fast-paced, concrete city like New York.
I would not recommend visiting during the heat of summer, spring or autumn would be the best time of year. The humidity during the summer is unbearable. No doubt your hotel and all the shops will have airconditioning, but anyone who intends doing the tourist sights such as the Empire State Building, etc. must remember that these areas will be hot and full of tourists.
New York City - go there, see it. Fully immerse yourself in the American culture, love it, and take a little home with you. A truly unforgettable experience, and I keep going back for more!...
