...I went to planet hollywood twice while in new york once for drinks on the first night and then another night for dinner. We didn't have any wait to be seated and our waiter was very polite and helpful. We did wait a while for him to fetch our beers but he seemed to have to serve half of the resturant alone. Decided on the captain crunch chicken for the appetiser and it was really nice but for the price you only get 3 strips for about $8. For the main course i had the chicken parmagaina it was a ok dish but nothing special. my sister had the vegatarin pasta dish and was happy with her choice. With drinks our bill came to around $70 which for 2 of us seemed very expensive for what we had. ...My daughter and I had a trip to London last weekend and decided to try Planet Hollywood. I am neither a fan of fast food or particularly enamoured by Hollywood, but I thought perhaps it would be a spectacle - I had in mind the restaurant that John Travolta and Winona Rider go to in Pulp Fiction. Looking at the website, it looked like it would be busy, especially on a Saturday so we decided to go for an early meal between lunch and dinner and see if we were lucky to get a table. There is only one Planet Hollywood in the UK and it is in Coventry Street, close to Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus. For some strange reason Coventry Street wasn't on the map that I had printed out, so I asked at an information booth in Leicester Square. ...I recently visited New York and our first place of call for eats was Planet Hollywood Time Square. Now entering the place was great, you had all the memorabilia, which was really interesting. You walked up the stairs and into the bar area and up to the further floor. It was all very facinating and even the large black man in the toilet offering hand towels was mildly interesting yet intimidating. Once sat down I felt as though I was in a McDonalds. I had looked at the interesting Terminator Bike and now found myself sat at a chequered table with a music channel playing in the background, surrounded by Baseball pictures and records. ...As you can imagine a day at Disneyland consumes and awful lot of energy, hot dog stalls are hideously pricey and so by the time it gets to evening you'll be keeling over and hallucentating about food. My friends and I had all decided in the morning that we'd eat at Planet Hollywood so we made a beeline for this restaurant which is placed just by the entrance to the parks. Its exterior design is the same as it is everywhere else so it is easily recognizable. I'd never eaten in any of the other restaurants in the chain so I was quite excited to try the food as I'd heard it was good. Much to my dismay I'd heard wrong. Advantages: food is good

...When I went to Disney last year we pre booked day days meal vouchers for Planet Hollywood in the Disney Village. As we had booked the whole package through a tour operator we booked the vouchers with them. Each voucher cost £13 per person and this was for a 'Pretty Woman' meal voucher which meant that we could have a main meal from a set selection and a desert plus a drink. Considering cost of meals to buy once you are at Disney we decided this would be a good option to have prebooked as it would save us having to spend as much cash whilst there. We were glad we had done this as first of all the food was excellent - a decent amount of choice available to choose form and when we did get our food the portion was pretty big, hence we did not go hungry!! ...What you can expect from a Tim Burton movie is predictable: 1. Visually stunning. 2. Serious artistic merit. 3. Terrible story. Nothing different here according to the Burton pattern, EXCEPT, this is a re-make of a classic sci-fi movie that should NEVER have been made. Forget that baloney by Burton about this film being a "re-imaging", because that is a cop-out by a guy who's starting to believe his own press. Maybe he should run for office instead of butchering these films. The make-up of the re-make of "Planet of the Apes" is astounding and worthy of granting Rick Baker his 7th Oscar win--which is 7 more than Burton will ever win if he continues his track record.
