Premier Travel Inn - Preston East
Review of Premier Travel Inn Preston - East, Preston by
kismet
Advantages: close to the motorway, cheap
Disadvantages: TOO close to the motorway!
...We have recently travelled up to Scotland from Devon and on the way home needed to break up the 12 hour journey. We stopped at Premier Travel Inn - Preston East.
This Travel Inn is literally right beside the southbound motorway near junction 31a northbound. We were travelling Southbound, so had to come off at junction 31, join the northbound and come off at junction 31a.
PRICE
++++++
We paid £48 for a room which is Friday to Sunday rates. Monday to Thursday would cost £51.
BOOKING
++++++++
We had an AA Road Atlas with us and also a directory of all the Premier Travel Inn's in the country. This is a very handy booklet as it has directions and location for each Travel Inn.
I telephoned the Inn and was put through to a central number as they were busy. They took a provisional booking and the Travel Inn called me...

Premier Travel Inn Dumfries, best by far
Review of Premier Travel Inn, Dumfries by
skrg28
Advantages: Rooms, Cheap price, staff
Disadvantages: None
...I stayed at the Premier Travel Inn in Dumfries just over four years ago for three days and once for a night a couple of years ago.
The first time round it was on a Thursday night arrival for a long weekends partying in preparation for my wedding on the Saturday. We were getting married in a castle just up the road but felt that the Inn offered the ideal cost savings for family and friends to gather before hand and just have a darn food time.
COST
At the time I paid £39 per room. That's not bad at all for two people sharing. The Inn at that time had just under 50 rooms and was located just of the main roundabout as you enter Dumfries just of the A75. It offered closeness to Dumfries town centre whilst being 20 odd minutes from the main motorway to the north and south of the country. I think Carlisle is about 30 miles down the road...

PREMIER TRAVEL INN - OXFORD CENTRAL
Review of Premier Travel Inn, Oxford by
kismet
Advantages: close to the city
Disadvantages: close to the traffic
...This particular Premier Travel Inn is situated on the Oxford Business Park. It is just off the A4142 on the junction with the B480 and it is opposite the Rover Works, 3 miles from Oxford city centre.
My husband originates from Wallingford near Oxford so we travel up that way occasionally to see old friends and family. We were finding it more and more difficult to find a reasonable B&B for the night. Most of them in that area are £60 upwards for a room.
BOOKING
++++++++
We booked our room online. This was very easy to do. You find the hotel that you want, then check availability. You can then choose the type of room that you want and reserve it. You only pay for the room upon arrival and it can be cancelled as close as 1pm on the day that you arrive.
You can check in after 2pm and do not need to vacate until 12pm...

It has to be a Premier Travel Inn!
Review of Premier Travel Inn, Lincoln by
ben27
Advantages: Cheap comfortable room
Disadvantages: location
...When i needed some where to stay in Lincoln I decided on the Premier Travel Inn after checking other hotels around Lincoln i thought this would be the best. I'd stayed in Premier Travel Inns before,so I knew they were comfortable rooms and i was looking forward to my stay.
The location was not the best i'd seen, i don't really know Lincoln apart from the city centre so I was expecting it to be in the city centre however i found that this wasn't the case. The hotel is away from the city centre so you can't get to and from the hotel without a car/taxi which is a big downside.
Luckily i was driving so with the help of The AA route planner and some friendly Lincoln people i found my way to The Premier Travel Inn, Canwick Hill, Lincoln. However if i was not driving you'd have to get a taxi there as it is not within walking distance...

Get Your Get Up & Go At Premier Travel Inn Gatwick
Review of Premier Travel Inn Gatwick Airport - South, Crawley by
memphisto_chick
Advantages: Close to both terminals, clean, friendly staff, value for money
Disadvantages: Food in restaurant average quality for above average price, no machines selling toiletries.
...On our recent trip to Las Vegas, we had to fly from London Gatwick. Living in Wales, driving up on the morning of the flight would have been fraught and not very pleasant, so we decided to do the decent thing and splash out and treat ourselves (!) to a night in a Premier Travel Inn.
Our reason for choosing this hotel was simple, we had stayed here last year and we knew the location of the hotel and we had had a good stay in this hotel so why not come back again for a place to lay our heads?
This time, however, we had more time to spend in the hotel, due to using Virgin Atlantic's twilight check in service at 3pm the day before our flight..
LOCATION:
Despite it's name, it is actually closer to the North Terminal at London Gatwick, situated about 5 minutes off the A23 and about 7 minutes drive from South Terminal car parks...

Premier Travel Inn Southwark - London
Review of Premier Travel Inn London - Southwark, London by
inycon2
Advantages: Excellent value, location
Disadvantages: Basic hotel
...I try to arrange a couple of days break for my husband and myself, away from the children, every Easter holiday and we like to visit London and see the sites. If you are looking for reasonably priced accommodation in central London then Premier Travel Inn is probably your best bet. I considered three - County Hall, near the London Eye; London Bridge, north side of the bridge and Southwark. I have to admit that I didn't know where Southwark was until I looked on a map and I was surprised to find out how central to everything it was, so I chose to stay here.
The Premier Travel Inn Southwark is about eight minutes walk from London Bridge Underground Station - so make sure that your luggage has wheels! I struggled but had a rest in the grounds of Southwark Cathedral at the halfway point. Doctor Who fans may remember the episode...

Not so Premier Travel Inn
Review of Premier Travel Inn, Brighton by
Timbo3107
Advantages: Bang in the center of Brighton, just seconds to the Lanes.
Disadvantages: It is on one of the busiest main roads in the city centre.
...Hello there. I though for my 19th review that I would diversify into something else instead of the plethora of secret agent DVD's that I've reviewed up to now, so here goes of a review into new territory….. mobile switched off please.
For my 32nd birthday I managed to persuade my friends to come down to Brighton for the weekend to celebrate, so I booked 8 rooms for 16 of us at the Premier Travel Inn in the City Centre for two nights, at a total cost of £1040.00.
So here are some more details about the place and my personal experience of staying there for two nights.
---Location---
The Premier Travel Inn is situated on North Street; and is an office block conversion; North Street is notorious as being one of the busiest roads in Brighton as it is the main bus route for the majority of the services for the area...

Premier Travel Inn Thurrock- Great Value
Review of Premier Travel Inn Thurrock - West, West Thurrock by
CRAFTYDONNA
Advantages: Close to shopping centres, great for families.
Disadvantages: Noisy if windows open- traffic
...This is the best value for money if you wish to visit London but not spend too much.
We have stayed at the hotel 8 times and we have booked to stay at the end of August for the bank holiday weekend 2 nights for a family of 4 is costing us £108. This is room only but worth the money for the comfort and location of this hotel.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hotel: The hotel is situated next to the M25 not far from the dartford bridge etc. The road is very nosey but the hotel has double glazing windows which block out the noise.
The Premier Travel Inn has an integral pub restaurant which provides a selection of evening meals, we had a lovely steak meal here and the food was excellent and the staff friendly. Breakfasts are available at £7.50 for a buffet type meal. Parking...

Premier Travel Inn
Review of Member Advice on Chain Hotels: Whitbread Travel Inns / Metros by
bobcatjack
Advantages: Wherever you go in the country you should expect the same standard of accomodation and facilities.
Disadvantages: The quality of these can vary wildly!
...Once upon a time, these hotels were Premier Lodges and Travel Inns. Premier Lodges used to be owned by Scottish&Newcastle (brewers by trade) and Travel Inns by Whitbread (previously a brewer by trade, now more of a leisure provider).
Premier Lodge and Travel Inn used to be the hottest competitors for the top spot in budget hotel chains, and Premier Lodge previously always won.
Since Scottish&Newcastle has ceased to exist, all of its bars and pubs have been successfull in remaining pretty much whatever they were before, with the sale of each having little effect, while Premier Lodge, as the Company's only venture into the accomodation side of hospitality, was thrown into the lurch, which had a major effect on staffing, support system reliability (such as Head Office/food suppliers/staff payroll) producing a negative effect...

Premier Travel Inn, London Docklands
Review of Premier Travel Inn London - Docklands (ExCel),, London by
hackerjack
Advantages: Good rooms and service
Disadvantages: Quite remote
...This is a step above most of the premier travell inns I have stayed at previously.
The reception staff were friendly and helpful, dealing easily with around 20 of us arriving at once in less than half an hour.
The rooms are fairly standar from PTIs, which on the whole is good all round. The bathrooms are especially nice with large baths (useful for us of the larger persuation) and everything laid out nicely.
The cafe/resteraunt/bar area is nice and comfortable, definately better than most of them. the availability of a pool table and awell stoked bar was a nice addition over most hotels of this type.
Breakfast was well stocked and of high quality all round.
The hotel itself is quite remote to look at, but is within a few minutes walk of the Excel centre (which dominates the skyline), a very nice chinese resteraunt...
