Quick and Easy?
Review of Prima ABM9 by
jjcb
Advantages: Fresh bread without the mess
Disadvantages: Time taken
...I've been using my bread machine for a few years now and I've found that I'm using it less and less!
When I first purchased my Prima ABM9 we were having fresh bread daily - I was even programming it to start and complete before breakfast. The aroma of freshly baked bread first thing in a morning was as much an incentive to get the family out of bed as the pot of fresh coffee that was brewing.
Positives
A clean and easy way to make fresh bread, dough and cakes.
Never had a bread making failure - every time I've used this machine my family have come back for more!
Negatives
This appliance takes up a lot of counter space.
The programmes are lengthy.
The noise.
Over all I've been very satified with my bread maker. However, if Prima were to make a smaller, quieter model that gave the same excellent results, I would trade...

Chocolate Heaven
Review of Prima CFF884 Chocolate Fountain by
tomt89
Advantages: Provides an excuse to have chocolate.
Disadvantages: Chocolate doesn't sheet properly, difficult to clean.
...The Nostalgia Electrics chocolate fondue fountain from Prima will provide a means of satisfying the sweet-toothed members of any family, party or other social occasion.
The basic principle behind the appliance is to heat (pre melted) chocolate and force the liquid to the top of the tower using a screw mechanism. At this point, in theory, the molten chocolate cascades down the tiers of the machine and forms solid curtains of chocolate. Unfortunately, this did not work for me. I am not yet sure whether it was my chocolate or the machine that was at fault as I didn't use their recommended fondue chocolate. However, the instruction manual provides instructions for preparing several common brands for use in the machine and I was still unable to get good sheeting using these instructions.
As may be expected from molten chocolate...

Very sexy but bad performer
Review of Prima PGK100BL by
llyffantcoch
Advantages: Looks fantastic
Disadvantages: Not very practical!
...When I moved into my new house I had to buy all sorts of kitchen appliances. I flicked through the Argos catalogue only to find that there's hundreds (it seems that way) of different kettles to buy.
Whilst I was flicking through the catalogue howver one kettle in particular caught my eye. Its name was the Prima PGK200. The thing that attracted me the most was thatit looked different from the rest- much more stylish. I went straight out to buy it and it cost me around £29.99.
It's quite round in shape and the best feature of it all is that it's made out of special glass so that it's see-through and you can see the water boiling away. Very theraputic if I may add.
Although the base of this kettle is white in colour you can also buy them in black and chrome (which is a tad more expensive).
When you switch the kettle on the inside...

Just watch it Boil
Review of Prima PGK100BL by
Alan_Smith
Advantages: Very stylish, good looking kettle, easy to see the water level
Disadvantages: The lid is not the best design, leads to pouring problems if not fitted properly
...Ok so the Prima PGK100C is not really a great name, and exactly how exciting can a kettle be? Well I really love my kettle and I don't usually say that about kitchen appliances!
The prima Clear Boil, as it says on the box, is a clear glass jug kettle with chrome effect trim. The glass jug has two distinct advantages, one you can instantly see the water level, so no more peering at the gauge trying to work out if you need to fill the kettle up and secondly with the concealed element and hot plate bottom you get the pleasure of watching the water boil without any nasty element spoiling the view.
~The good points~
In addition to the above mentioned ability to see the water level easily I would draw attention to the following benefits; the jug connects to the center of the base, therefore it is easy to set in place, it is possible...

Nothing beats FRESHLY SQUEEZED orange juice
Review of Prima JE3000 by
randhawa
Advantages: not noisy. quick. see though lid.
Disadvantages: old model - so you might have to hunt around for this.
...Its Sunday morning….and im craving fresh orange. Freshly squeezed orange juice…yummy ! But I haven’t got a juicer…arrgghh !!
So I got this juicer form Ebay for £15. It is very basic. I think its an old model – you will struggle to find it in most shops and may need to search around for it.
It has a stainless steel grater. The juicer extracts juice very quickly. I can get a cup of orange juice from about 4 whole oranges and a cup of carrot juice from about 1lb of carrots.
The instructions I received with this were very easy to follow. See the following website for a pdf of the instructions.
http://www.prima-international.com/ib/je3000.pdf
The lid is see through, so you can see exactly how much of the fruit has been ‘chewed’ up by the juicer ! The lid has a safety interlock switch. It is easy to take this apart to clean it.
Its...

A POPular appliance in my house.
Review of Prima Popcorn Maker by
mailmekm
Advantages: Healthier, good value for money, clean and safe.
Disadvantages: The popcorn goes EVERYWHERE!
...should have all these parts. If you’re missing something, take your popcorn maker back to the shop it was purchased from with your warranty, and you’ll be able to claim another one.)
‘Popping Chamber’
Doesn’t it sound like some sort of medieval torture?! The first part was the main body of the machine. It was a white plastic cuboid shape, with a black plastic lining on the top, and the Prima logo was printed in red on the side. There was a cylindrical hole, which was lined with metal. (This is the part that cooks the popcorn.) The main body of the appliance can’t be submerged in water, but as it is made of plastic, it can fortunately be wiped clean after use. The base is rubber, so it won’t slip on a work surface.
‘Top/ Cover/ Hood’
The second part was the chute the the popcorn slides down. It’s clear, orange plastic so it can also...

Enough of fast food - use a slow cooker.
Review of Prima Slow Cooker by
GentleGiant
Advantages: Easy to use and efficient
Disadvantages: Hard to clean
...I'll start with the best bits about the cooker:
From the moment I bought the appliance, I have had next to no trouble with it(see worst bits).
It comes in bubble plastic so it's not damaged and its all ready to plug in. Once plugged in, you're up and away!
It's made of strong, white porcelain which would be hard to crack. There is a layer of metal around which provides the heat, although there is an ever-cool coating on the outside so you can't get burned.
The porcelain dish is removeable so once the meal has been cooked, the dish can be removed and placed on the table ready to serve.
There is a glass lid which is very helpful. With a lot of slow cookers i have had, the lid has been the same colour as the dish and so i could not see in. Having a see-through lid ensures you know how well the food is cooked and if it's boiling, etc.
I...

Bubble bubble, coffee and trouble!
Review of Prima Clear Boil Kettle by
carebare
Advantages: Very attractive, great price
Disadvantages: see op
...I have decided to edit this op as it was one of my earlier attempts and I feel that I am a much better writer now, hope you like the improvements, all comments gratefully recieved.
In our house we are big coffee and tea lovers so a decent kettle is a must. We had used the same kettle for a number of years and we finally decided to get a new one after our old one started making funny noises.
My requirements for a new kettle were that it was a cordless one as I hate trailing leads, it had to have a covered element as I hated the amount of limescale we used to get on our old one, we had just decorated our kitchen and had all new stainless steel appliances so I wanted something that would fit in and it had to have a 360 degree base as I hated having to make sure old our one was positioned properly.
I scoured the pages of our trusty argos...
