Prince tennis racket
Review of Prince TT Rebel by
thespurs
Advantages: A large amount of control and a good price
Disadvantages: Not much power
...I use wear down much faster because they are special 'air grips'.
---Replacing Parts---
Prince offer a wide range of grips and strings from their website and at their various outlets within tennis clubs. You can also by replacement vibration dampeners if your one wear out. You can have your racket restrung at some tennis clubs or at some 'sole trading' sport outlets. The fee for this can vary, some will restring the racket for the price of the string or others may charge a one off fee when you provide the string.
---Value for Money---
You can pick this racket up for around £70, as it has been discontinued by the manufacturers Prince. This is still a very high quality racket and ata great price. Prince are possibly the most widely used tennis rackets by professionals, the main users include Juan Carlos Fererro and Jenifer...

The History Of Real Tennis
Review of Real Tennis by
chr15_
Advantages: Great fun.
Disadvantages: Difficult to find a court, expensive.
...in France.
In Great Britain, as in France, royal patronage ensured the continued popularity of the game. French Kings in the 16th century and Stuart Kings in the 17th century were enthusiastic players. George IV (1763-1830), Prince Albert (1819-1861) - there is a locker in the changing room at Hampton Court Palace which still bears his name - Edward VII (1842-1910) and George V (1866-1936) have all supported the game.
Lawn Tennis, which derived from Real Tennis in about 1874, is played on a marked-out surface without side or end walls. Court Tennis, to use the American name for Tennis, indicates that Tennis is played in a specially court with walls on four sides.
No two tennis courts are exactly alike. Some are marginally wider than others.
Today the number of courts has dwindled. There are 19 courts in use in Great Britain; 7...

PING PONG YOURSELF INTO SHAPE
Review of Table Tennis - General by
Versatile
Advantages: All in opinion
Disadvantages: All in opinion
...It all started when I first represented my school for the tennis team – from the moment I put a racket in my hand I knew that was the sport for me. Netball, hockey, gymnastics and athletics were not my idea of a games period and never really enjoyed participating in any of those activities. The only sport I was interested in playing was tennis – so I bought myself a Prince racket and played in tournaments representing my school and other tournaments outside of school.
One afternoon all the tennis courts were water logged and so we decided to play a game of table tennis. Table tennis is a miniature version of tennis; you still have the net that goes across the table and all the white markings like a tennis court. The only real difference is the rules of the game (which I will outline soon). I was quite a good tennis player but my...

The most realistic tennis game around
Review of Virtua Tennis 3 (PS3) by
Diggyzed
Advantages: Graphics, rane of difficulty settings, enjoyment
Disadvantages: no online mode small arcade features bring it down
...Virtua Tennis has always been an arcade style game instead of being realistic. Virtua Tennis 3 although contains great lifelike graphics is stil unfortunately cursed by the cheesy arcade factors such as the classic small explosion when the racket and ball collide and the line of yellow mist which follows the ball giving it a tail like structure. These features in the game (I believe) bring a tacky and childish part the the otherwise great game. Some would disagree with me but I want to play a sports game that is completly realsitic and although Virtua tennis has toned down the arcade like idea these tiny modifications bring you out of the illusion that this game is real life and you are infact watching a game of tennis being played at Wimbledon.
Apart from the arcade defects the graphics are infact pretty amazing. This game, like...

Tennis beginning to shine
Review of Virtua Tennis 3 (PC) by
existtoinspire
Advantages: graphics, easy to play, nice mini-games
Disadvantages: soundtrack, need more variety in shots
...The tennis games never had a real good title in the PC, and the only thing which came closer was Topspin. But Sega's Virtua Tennis 3 has managed to look better than Topspin 2 in a number of aspects. I could never actually stop playing this game from the day I started and finished this game. Even after finishing it, there is enough fun left in the game to play a match or two every day. This replayability factor keeps the gamer asking for a quick sequel. The game also asks for a less powerful system compared to Topspin 2, but delivers more. Also called Sega Professional Tennis, the game's featres may be more than what the gamer would have expected.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 2000/XP
Note that for Windows 2000 and XP you will require the latest Service Packs and administrator privileges
Processor: 2...

PREVIEW OF VIRTUA TENNIS 3
Review of Virtua Tennis 3 (PS3) by
Area88
Advantages: Graphics, Same Gameplay, Mini Games
Disadvantages: No Online Play
...Virtua Tennis is Sega Sport's most successful product. Sega Sports is the division in Sega which concentrates on primarily making Sports Titles. Many games in their series have failed to capture the success Virtua Tennis encaptured. Virtua Athlete, and Virtua Striker have all sold poorly yet Virtua Tennis has remained a fan favourite. Games 1 and 2 were originally released on the Dreamcast only for Virtua Tennis 2 to be ported over to the Playstation 2 when the Dreamcast had officially been withdraw from the market. Great move by Sega since the Playstation 2 had a fanbase of 100 million users compared to the tiny fraction of 10 million worldwide with the Dreamcast. This finally propelled the Virtua Tennis series into the lime light and has always been regarded as the most accurate tennis game on the market. So how will Virtua Tennis 3...

Prince Of Persia - From Beyond Pixelation
Review of Prince of Persia - Prince 2 (PC) by
Jak2039
Advantages: Control Over Time, Acrobatic Fights, Interesting Storyline, Good Graphics
Disadvantages: Short Game Length, Only One Boss Fight, Easy
...History
Prince of Persia is a series spanning over many years. With the first game created by Jordan Mechner. It was a 2D platform game that consisted of jumping up, hanging down and jumping over spikes, through deadly metal teeth and some fights with pretty naff looking swords.
It had a sequel, which, by today's standards, doesn't look much better. Some people say the difference is, the Prince has prince-like clothes. Proceeding on...
Prince of Persia 3D. As you might suspect, it's 3D and it's comprised of the Prince fighting more people with his persian sword and some annoying camera angles.
Then came Prince of Persia - The Sands of Time. Created by Ubisoft with the Prince still in the main spotlight, Sands of Time introduced a new storyline and many many new features.
Story
The Prince is the young son of the Persian...

How do you serve in tennis
Review of Tennis in General by
fizz9999
Advantages: key to success and winning matches
Disadvantages: depends if you like tennis
...As I am a big fan of tennis, here is my factual information guide to one of the key types of shots in the sport, the serve. The serve is a very important part of tennis and if you ever want to get anywhere in tennis having a good, powerful and effective serve is the key to success.
In tennis, a serve is a shot which starts of a point in a rally where the player aims to get the ball in the diagonally opposite service box on the court. There are four service boxes on a tennis court, two on each end of the court but you only use one per point of a game. You can have two attempts to serve in one point before you get a double fault then the opponent wins that point and you have to go onto the next point and serve on the other side. A quick and effective way of scoring points with the serve is to serve aces. An ace is a serve which...

PC Tennis never felt so good!
Review of Virtua Tennis 3 (PC) by
Lipe
Advantages: Great graphics, easy to pick up and play, lots of different games
Disadvantages: Diving shot a problem
...I had never played a tennis game on the PC before so I was a little cautious of what to expect from this. Having heard from friends and games magazines that Virtua Tennis was the ‘King of Tennis’ I thought I’d give it a try on the PC seeing as I didn’t have any of the consoles it was out on. Thankfully my doubts were squashed as soon as I hit my first volley, wrong-footing the opposing player.
Virtua Tennis 3 is a dream to play. Just three keys (slice, topspin and lob) are needed to play, along with the movement keys, meaning you can instantly learn the controls and be out on the court in a matter of minutes. I did have to re-adjust the controls to suit myself as the current keyboard keys were hard to use but I had it all set up and running in no time. The players respond extremely well to your commands and there is no delay...

My twisted views on Mario Tennis
Review of Mario Tennis (N64) by
ttfp
Advantages: Crisp, bold graphics with smooth animation, great longevity, excellent playability, 4-player simultaneous play
Disadvantages: Cartoon graphics may discourage some, 'twee' music
...Fat people aren’t known for their sporting prowess, but that hasn’t stopped Nintendo’s lardy plumber producing a top class performance on the tennis courts. After the sublime Mario Golf, Camelot has made another game worthy enough to be part of the Mario franchise.
The first time you play Mario Tennis, the game mechanics seem to be a bit simple. For a start, only two buttons are used when playing. When you press the button, your character remains locked in position to power up the shot. When the tennis ball is within reach, the computer will automatically hit it for you.
With the computer aiding you, nets, faults and outs rarely occur. This makes Mario Tennis easy to pick and play for people of all abilities. So whether you are after a long session of tennis tournaments or a quick ten minute blast, the game...
