...I love 'Buzz' as it appeals to my competitive nature. Although the game is embellished with quirky characterisation of contestants and buzzer noises, the undeniably real purpose of the game is a simple old-fashioned, tried and tested formula, of who has the best knowledge of music and who is the quickest on the buzzer. The duration of the game is predetermined by the players at the beginning ; the longer the game the more rounds there are to compete in. The first round is a gentle point builder but ultimately sets the tone for the remaining rounds with regards to the music range. However, after playing 'Buzz' for just one evening some of the opening questions were already repeated. This was great for my younger sister who hadn't previously known many of the answers; some, therefore, may say it was educational!!! But here... Read review

...I asked my parents to buy me Buzz & Singstar 80s for Christmas, but they got me a digital camera instead (no complaints!) so I went and bought them for myself. We had my fiancé's mother staying with us at the time so we all had a drink and played Buzz. She is a bit of a technophobe so it took some explaining to her, but we were soon on the edge of our seats. The game comes on its own or with the buzzers, so if you haven't got them already, make sure you get the pack with the buzzers. There are 4 buzzers, so up to 4 people can play- they plug into your ps2 through the USB port, so there's no need for extra attachments. The buzzers consist of a red button that lights up, and 4 buttons marked with different colours. You use these to navigate through the options and to select the correct answer. ...the option for a "teacher mode" where the game won't progress until the teacher presses a button on the standard PS2 controller. This gives the participants the chance to discuss where they went wrong (or why they got it right). Again, a superb way to use it as a revision aid. One of my favourites is the "quickfire" version, which doesn't take very long and just fires as many questions as you like (10,20,30,50,100) at you and it's fastest finger first. Still fun for being such a basic version of the game. You can "turn off" any rounds that wouldn't work well with 2 players etc (Like "pie fight" - see below) and also enter "Quizmaster mode" where you ask your own questions verbally, yet use the Buzz game as a means of answering and scoring (makes the test that bit more amusing). ...annoying after a while, but the questions are varied and the music is pretty recent. A number of styles are covered - Rock, Hip Hop, R n B, Pop etc so there should be something for everyone's musical taste. Having said that, we played with an 11 and 12 year old and they struggled (the age suggests 12+) but I'm sure any kids into pop music might fare a little better! We also played it with my parents, and some of the answers can be worked out with a guess (1 in 4 chance of getting it right) or by process of elimination, it's great fun even if you're not very good. Even just for the character elimination. If you can't afford a Wii, but you've got a PS2..... this is a great way to spend an evening.... Read review

...What more could you ask for in a PS2 game? Colourful buzzers instead of normal controllers, 5000 questions, a host with a disturbingly large mouth and the opportunity to be a superhero whilst in a quiz show! Strangely enough, the game revolves around answering questions (shock horror), and each round varies slightly in format. For example, you could get rounds where lightning speed is required, or those where getting the answer right is all that is needed. There is even a round that involves a pie fight. As well as all of the questions, there is a mystery round in the middle, which can be anything from following a moving card, answering true/false questions, r guessing the winner in a horse race. ...much allsorts of things. It come with the PS2 so i can't comment on the price but the game comes with buzzers. the buzzers are great to the only downfall is that you can't pause the game! I've scratched my game somehow and it won't play so i will have to buy another one which i'm willing to do becuase it's a fun game. i can't wait til they bring the film one out later this year!!... ...This game is aimed at Children mainly although i find adults can enjoy it too.This game is played using buzz buzzers which you can usually get with the game or seperate.There are 40 minigames on this which adds to the playability because it dosn't really get boring.The only problem with this is that some of the games are the same style just different surroundings which can be a little bit of a let down but its only 3 or 4. The fun thing about it other than the wide range of mini games is that when you choose the monkeys you can put glasses,t-shirts and shoes on them.Also there are leaderboards so you can have your name on it if you win. Children dont really get bored playing this game as there is a narrator that cracks joke and tells you what is happening.
