Florida - without needing a car
Review of Quality Inn At International Drive, Orlando by
wednesdaygirl
Advantages: excellent location, good value for money
Disadvantages: didn't find any
...Once again my friend and I have been on holiday. This time we went to Florida as my friend’s son was going there to get married. It was arranged that if we went at the same time she could be there for the wedding but after that the happy couple could have a honeymoon on their own whilst we had a couple of weeks in the sun and the theme parks.
As we were a little short of money for this holiday we decided to do it ourselves through the internet. We managed to get a couple of reasonable flights and then searched around for a hotel. After searching quite a few sites we finally decided on the Quality Inn on International Drive. There are a couple of Quality Inns on International Drive but the one we decided on was called Quality Inn International and it was at 7600 International Drive.
The day finally arrived and having...

QUALITY INN PLAZA HOTEL
Review of Quality Inn Plaza Hotel by
pav2006
Advantages: Central location, Family frendly, Close to major attractions, Free shuttle service, Kids eat free policy
Disadvantages: None really
...I stayed here in September 2005 and found it to be a very enjoyable experience for all the family. The hotel is located towards the bottom end of International Drive facing Pointe Orlando Shopping Mall and takes around 40mins to reach from Sanford Airport.
On arriving at the Hotel the check-in is a very simple affair and takes very little time which is good after the long flight and drive to get here. The rooms are basic in design but have everything you need to enjoy your stay. The room came with two double beds, T.V with Cable and Internet access, En-suite Bathroom, Tea/Coffee Maker, Microwave and Fridge. The decor was a bit tired but during my stay the rooms were going through a very extensive refit and the rooms that were done did look very nice and a lot brighter.
The hotel itself has everything you need to enjoy your stay Buffet...

Quality Street
Review of Quality Inn International, Orlando by
kirstymack80
Advantages: central location, cheap(ish), large room
Disadvantages: hanging space limited, rooms on a walkway
...at the Business Center who gave us tickets which we needed to claim the bags back.
All the restaurants are in the lobby and everything is in a small space, including the gift shop. There are also 4 email terminals which cost $5 for 15 mins, 3 pay phones and an ATM so you won't need to search to get cash out!
* Outside *
The grounds are beautifully kept, there's a fountain and two outside swimming pools surrounded by gates.
There is 24 hour security and the men were always around in the car park. Free parking is available although we didn't have a car. The I-Tram stops outside the hotel and is very easy to use, costing $1 one way. As this is a Flagship Hotel for Virgin a rep comes in daily. Quality Inn is a 'pick up' hotel - ie guests from other hotels will come here and leave their car for the day and be picked up by coach...

Good quality hotels
Review of Marriott Hotel, Prague by
bazza1603
Advantages: Quality your can trust without fail.
Disadvantages: Prices can be high for they up market properties
...star/ basic three star. The hotels offer consistent quality at an affordable price is how Fairfield Inns are sold by Marriott.
Marriott hotels in Britian have recently bought the Swallow group of hotels so its added to the range in Britain.
Ive stayed in the Marriott Newcaslte which is located within five minutes walk of the Metrocentre and ten minutes drive from Newcaslte Airport.I find this hotel to be an excellant mid 4 star hotel whcih is spacious, bright and clean.I recommend the theme rooms at this hotel, but they aint cheap.
Ive also stayed at the London Marriott Marble Arch which is just off Oxford Street (well five minutes walk anyway).I again found this hotel to be very nice and I thing in my opinion merits a high five star rating.
Im going to Florida in October and Im looking forward to staying in both Courtyard...

Quality Inn every way...
Review of Quality Inn Plaza Hotel by
Nicola24H
Advantages: Good location and central to most attractions
Disadvantages: I had to come home
...I have stayed in this hotel 4 times with my family as it is such a nice place to stay for you florida holiday.
It is located on International Drive, which has a multitude of shops resteraunts and attractions.
It takes around 45 minutes to get to from Sanford Airport but as we were on a coach and dropped off at other hotels it could take up to an hour.
The hotel is classed as a 3* motel in American standards but I found it to be of very high standard. The check in is quick and efficient and staff offer a warm welcome.
Rooms aretastefully decorated in light pastel shades and most of the hotel has undergone refurbishment and decoration over the years I have visited. There are 2 Queen size beds, Table and chairs, drawers and desk and hanging space for clothes. At the back of the room is a large sink and mirror area, fridge...

Jury's Inn, good quality hotel!
Review of Jurys Inn, Glasgow by
boyd2715
Advantages: Central, nice rooms, helpful staff!
Disadvantages: Parking location is annoying!
...I booked the Jury's Inn (Glasgow) for myself and two friends as we were spending a weekend there for my birthday. I have booked it two years on the run now and will probably book it again next year.
It cost us £90 a night, which worked out at £180 for the Friday and Saturday night for three of us.
The booking was very easy to make and the website is extremely user friendly.
*****Location******
The drive upto Jury's Inn was very easy, as from Liverpool and its pretty much one motorway, but the hotel was also very easy to find and is right next to the bridge over the river on Jamaica Street.
The hotel is very close to the centre of Glasgow and we walked in each night, which takes around 5-10 minutes max. There are a variety of restaurants, pubs and fast food places to eat and drink around
every corner. You would not find...

I'D PARK MYSELF IN THE PARK INN ANYTIME
Review of Park Inn Hotel Heathrow Airport, London by
gemax2
Advantages: Excellent location, Trendy hotel, Easy to get to, Lovely rooms & Great facilities
Disadvantages: Car Parking is a little tricky & Food & drink prices can be quite high
...Having booked my New Year break in November 2004 I decided I would need to book an airport hotel to make sure I got my flight on time. I live in the Midlands and would find it really difficult to get down to Heathrow for 6am especially at holiday time. I haven't stayed in any airport hotels in London before so I really wasn't sure what to book and what to look for. As I work for a holiday company I do get a 50% discount on airport hotels so it really depended on what they could offer me. My family initially wanted to book the Holiday Inn which was fine with me but my company couldn't book this one so I had about 4 others to choose from and the Park Inn sounded the most appealing as it seemed the closest to the airport and probably the most easiest to get to.
PRICES and HOW TO BOOK
I booked directly with my company and got a twin room...

Come on Inn the hotels lovely...
Review of City Inn, Glasgow by
Shoka
Advantages: Amazing food, friendly and professional staff, lovely rooms
Disadvantages: £20 cab ride away from airport, sound proofing not as good as it could be
...with the person in my office that books the accommodation. They said to me, "I'll try and get you in to the City Inn" I thanked them, but at that point just had the impression it would be a fairly bog standard chain hotel. My manager enthused about the place though, saying the food was really good.
First Impressions
*********************
To get to the hotel from Glasgow airport is around a 20 minute cab ride. This costs between £18-£21 depending on traffic. On my first trip up the cab driver was very chatty and friendly, and I marvelled at the difference to the 'lovely' black cab drivers of London town. He kept me entertained the length of the journey. He did ask me why I'd chosen the City Inn and I told him that my company really liked it, and that the food was supposed to be good. He then told me he'd eaten there and thought...

A night at a Days Inn in Orlando
Review of Days Inn, Orlando by
ajfoster
Advantages: 24-hour front desk, allows pets, conveniently close to Disney attractions
Disadvantages: No ghosts, property in poor condition and maintenance
...might be tolerable, but combined they made management look sloppy in its care of the property. Dealing with these minor problems made me look a little closer at the rest of the room and hotel, which was showing general wear and tear throughout without any apparent effort to spiff something back up. After staying someplace like the St. Francis Inn, a 213-year-old Spanish colonial house B&B where the antique furnishings were fully functional and looking sharp, in St. Augustine, Florida, the comparison makes the staff at the Days Inn appear lazy. One website indicated that this eight-story building opened in 1984. I paid the same nightly rate to stay at the Vagabond Inn, which was more than 10 years older, in Santa Clara, California, and I was given a room that quite pleased me.
The sleeping portion of the room included a TV with 67 cable...

Park Inn at Heathrow - it used to be Le Meridien
Review of Park Inn Hotel Heathrow Airport, London by
newholgate
Advantages: Proximity to Heathrow Airport, comfortable rooms, value for money
Disadvantages: Difficult to find parking spaces
...This Le Meridien Hotel at Heathrow Airport has actually had a name change and is now the Park Inn. From my understanding, this is the first Park Inn hotel in the UK. The standards are equally good to those at Le Meridien Hotels. In fact, I stayed at this hotel, both before and after the changeover and other than obvious changes to names, logos, uniforms, etc, I didn’t notice any difference.
The hotel is located at the entrance to Heathrow Airport. If you know Heathrow well, then the hotel is on the left hand side as you approach the roundabout, which has the model of Concorde at the centre of it. This makes the hotel really easy to get to. My husband and I travelled down from the North East of England and found it first time without any problems. The hotel has hundreds of parking spaces. However, it is difficult to find an available...
