...First purchased these about 3 years ago when our daughter was first diagnosed with her many health problems. I went through a really stressful and depressed time and there were days when i didnt even get out of bed. The stress made me quite ill - apparently stress releases poisons into your system which can give you no end of health problems - anyway these gave me a slight lift - enough to get me back into the land of the living and make me get up and get on with life. Advantages: Fun short book for children
Disadvantages: Small writing

...Mr Quiet is number 29 in the Mr Men collection. He is a small round yellow shaped character and has a small round nose and 5 short hairs sticking up out of his head. The cover of the book is white and has a picture of Mr Small at the bottom and the title above this in black lettering. The back cover is also white and has smaller pictures showing the other characters available in the collection. The book begins by telling us a bit about Mr Quiet. We learn that he likes a quiet life and lives in a small cottage in the middle of the woods. He only problem with his cottage in the woods is that the woods was in the middle of Loud Town. Everyone in Loud Town was noisy. In Loud Town dogs bark loudly, people don't shut doors they slam them, people don't talk to each other they shout and Loud Town has the noisiest mice ever. This was their first album produced by ex Roxy Music man John Punter, and on it Japan finally found their true setting (and discovered a talented saxophonist in bassist Mick Karn). Unfortunately the Punter association was too much for certain critics who had already noted the Bryan Ferry influences in David Sylvian’s singing style and the band got some accusations of ripping off Roxy. Advantages: calm
Disadvantages: a little expensive?

...Do you get really stressed out at certain times of the month? (to all the ladies obviously!) I know I do....... I have found a really great herbal help, it's called 'Quiet Life' and it's made by Lanes, apparently it's "to relieve periods of worry, irritability, stresses and strains AND it promotes natural sleep" I know one thing about these tablets, they are great! If i'm in work and the phones are going mental, i've got customers shouting at me(I work in a Customer Services) and it's all getting a bit much, 2 of these and half an hour later i'm humming to myself, my heartbeat has slowed and i'm not frowning anymore. It contains Motherwort, Hops, Passiflora, Wild Lettuce, Valerian, Vitamins B1 and B2 along with some other bits, it's gluten and yeast free and it's OK for us veggies too. I don't know which... 'Well Mr Bin Laden, you see Half life-2 is'..........My words were cut short as a tremendous thoom hit the cave roof, the entire abyss shook and creaked, rocks fell around us, there was no place to go now..and before I could answer an immense chunk of rock came upon us and then all was quiet again. Ok so the first part of this review has almost nothing to do was Half Life-2 except for the fact that perhaps only people in such a predicament as that would not have heard about this game. ...girl a name: they called her Donna. They didn't name the other girl until she "came back to life" as they claimed. My dad thought I was so pretty, with such beautiful eyes, that he wanted to name me Bella! Thank God he didn't! Thus, although I was named Ami, sometimes he called me "Bella" (beautiful)! Even as little babies we looked different: I was smaller, she was the chubby one! Our behavior was also different. Even our sleeping patterns differed. Donna was an active baby who kept every one occupied. She never slept at night - always demanding. I was the quiet, satisfied baby; even sleeping most of the day. ...the spectatcular acting which one should concentrate on, but also the lavish scenery and wonderful soundtrack, which are a fitting accompaniment to the film. Director Phillip Noyce does justice to the original book and gets the most out of his actors. The Quiet American is obviously a political metaphor for the American involvement in Vietnam and it is easy to get sidelined by Brendan Fraser's attempts to destroy Communism, no matter what the cost. However, this movie is essentially a story of love and betrayal, beginning and ending with a death. Hai Yen Do is excellent as the girl that comes between the two friends. I do not wish to say anymore in case I spoil the plot for anyone. The Quiet American is available in most good movie rental shops and to buy on VHS and DVD for around £7 and £12 respectively.... ...These headphones, for their price ($200-350), are worth it. The sound quality and depth that the headphones produce are second to none. The sound that is produced by the headphones is rich; the high end notes are crisp, and the low end notes make your whole head shake (depending on the amount of bass you put into them). The noise cancelling works like a charm. When on an aeroplane I cannot hear any background noise at all, I have finally found peace on flights!!! The headphones not only cut out background noise from aeroplanes but from anywhere else, on the bus they make it seem like your the only one there, they are even useful when not listening to music, noise just stops so you can have a quiet snooze in your garden or in bed. The DVD is a single disk containing the film, no extra features which is a little disappointing. * * * * * I'm doing lots of World War 1 literature for my English A-level. But among all the videos, poems, biographies, and documentaries, this is one of my favourites. 'All Quiet on the Western Front' first grabbed my attention because it sounds so poetic, so familiar. However the deepest irony is that the front was never quiet, constantly bashed into craters by heavy shell-fire. Before this DVD (a 1979 remake of the classic black and white film) I had no idea what the trenches were really like. What is somewhat unique is that this story is seen from the German perspective. What is heartwarming and depressing is that it is very much like our own story... Read review
