Advantages: songs from the past as well as present

... General information about the album R&B the Collection 2007 is a compilation album filled with 41 massive R&B tracks both from the past and the present. It was released in 2007, obviously lol, by Universal Music TV, a division of Universal Music Operations Limited. Advantages: Songs for all moods, happy, sad, angry etc.
Disadvantages: A couple of dud songs on there to watch out for

...and a great song for any occasion. The next song by Justin Timberlake entitled "Like I love You" is a good song, but the ending seems to go on forever with him simply talking over the backing music. Apart from the ending its a good track. One word "uplifting". This song will put a smile on your face for sure. A classic song sung well by a great artist. Keisha White, "I Choose Life" Not a big Britney fan I'm afraid, but "Toxic" is without a doubt one of the biggest tracks of the last few years so it had a right to be put on this album (even if it isn't really technically classed as R&B). "I'm Sprung" by T-Pain is an unusual song. His voice has been played with in places (as in Cher's song "Believe") and I am not a fan of that kind of thing. The song isn't much either in my opinion. Advantages: Light, easy listening, well known tunes

...Essential R&B.... let's see shall we... The first song on this album is Eamon's F*** it. Pretty good way to start the album, admittedly its an old tune now but it probably was the most popular and most played (well one of the) of 2004. Who didn't hear that song? It includes a lot of the most popular chart songs of 2004 and before, such as 50 Cent's In Da Club, R Kelly's Ignition Remix, another classic, and Usher's You got it Bad. The songs on the album are varied - there's a couple of hip hop type songs, a few slower songs that are more love songs than anything, and of course, a lot of R&B. The second disk starts with Outkast's Hey Ya, which gets the disk off to a good start! No Scrubs and Hot in Herre are also present, as well as, strangely, Natasha Bedingfield's Single? ...that game' and heart tugging Christina Aguilera's 'Beautiful'. Yet my only reservation is that the album doesn't really fill the criteria of being a love album; where are boys to men? or Luther Vandross? Or any other of the infamous romantic R & B singers. In this respect it was a little disappointing. However, as an overall CD, it's good. If you like the featured artists, buy it. It's easy on the ears - definitely one that can be played in the background.... Read review

Advantages: Justin's hit the highest point of his career
Disadvantages: A couple of songs, but very forgiveable

...on his next production. From pop, Justin was going to really blast the door open on an R&B career for himself and for the most part there is not even any stigma attatched to liking Justin Timberlake anymore. If anyone has done a great job at reinventing themselves after leaving a boyband, Justin is a prime example. A year heading into the release of Future Sex/Love Sounds, Justin featured on Snoop Dogg's 'Signs' single. The song was a massive success on a circuit that Justin was not used to playing to, and I'd imagine that leant a hand to giving him the confidence to produce a new album that was all about being sexy, or lovely, depending on what way you look at it - as the title of the album ironically points out. Advantages: 2 CDs - bought it cheap from ebay - lots of songs
Disadvantages: had most of the songs anyway!

...This is a 2 CD album, i bought it dead cheap on ebay (about £3) - it's prob loads more expensive in the shops!!.. features loads of artists and songs - i'll go through as much of them as i can!!!.. Ok - CD 1.. First there is 'Off The Wall - Michael Jackson' - i like MJ so i think this is a good choice of song.. 'I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me) - Michael, George & Aretha Franklin' - was a bit surprised about this song being on an RnB collection - even though Aretha is very soul/RnB - i would not have put this song in an RnB collection & plus i dont particularly think this is a very good song anyway (sorry any G Micheal fans!).. then we have 'Crazy In Love (no rap version) - Beyonce' - i absolutely hate this song now! it's been heard and played way too much and doesnt deserve to be on this album! im sure it is already... ...Kells really catches the attention of the audience by claiming that he is the "R" in R&B, in my own opinion this is a something he is capable of as he is one of the people I would name as a legend in this genre. This compilation is made up of two disks, the first of which features the best of his original tracks and the second has a few remixes and what was his newest song at the time "Thoia Thong". Disk 1 1. "Ignition (Remix)" **Five Stars** Classic club anthem. Everyone knows this one and is the best way to kick off the compilation, the track was new at the time and was very popular ad so it was the best way to start off the album; with a tune everyone is familiar with. 2. "Your Body's Callin'" **Four Stars** Great slow jam by Kelly; he knows how to do them best. Its a shame he doesn't do as much of this anymore... Read review

...the first in a long line of chart-toppers for the unbeatable, No.1 Pop Diva. Lucky Star, with it's electronic, synthesised effect is equally of good musical value though was less accomplished than Holiday which didn't meet the commercial success of the previous single, though still stands well today (despite having 1980's stamped all over it). Madonna explored her growing artistic integrity on the glowing ballad, Borderline. Borderline conveyed her undoubted wide range of distinctive vocal abilities, proving her voice carried enough emotional load to be able to carry off gorgeous ballads like Borderline with style and finesse. Lovely! However one of Madonna's ultimate and definitive landmarks of her long and successful recording career is delivered next with the playful, Like A Virgin. ...I recently decided to look right through my tape collection and found this. It was also released on CD in 1998. Of course, a newer collection, "The Essential Paul Young" has just been released but "From Time To Time" is a good compilation. The track listing is as follows: 1. Every Time You Go Away 2. Advantages: full of catchy tunes, some of the best names in urban music
Disadvantages: a little TOO much hip hop

...I've never seen the movie Bad Boys 2 but I love the soundtrack!!! I bought it initially based on the strength of the first single taken from it, "Shake Ya Tailfeather" by Nelly and friends. I had heard very good things about the album and, since there was songs included from Beyonce, AND justin Timberlake, among others, I decided it would be a worthwhile investment. The album concentrates on urban music, from the dancey Destiny's Child- type r & b (by this, obviously, I mean the Beyonce track!), through to hip-hop, and soul. The majority of the tracks are hip-hop but they are varied and different and you could "shake ya tailfeather" to just about all of the tracks!!!
