The Rank Ramada
Review of Ramada Jarvis Hotel, Glasgow by  Sgathach

Advantages: I don't have to stay here ever again.
Disadvantages: I ever stayed here in the first place.

...Ramada, Glasgow City, 201 Ingram Street, Glasgow G1 1DQ. I'm updating this review as I received a response from Ramada. Jarvis, some of the contents of the letter I have placed at the end of this review. My sister and I stayed at this hotel on Saturday June the 9th 2007, we were in room 309. The hotel is being renovated at the moment; however, I don’t think you’ll want to stay here even after the renovation once you’ve read this review. To start with I’ll give you an overview of the hotel and Ramada Jarvis. The following information was taken from their website. ☼ ☼ ☼ “Founded in 1990 by John Jarvis and David Thomas, Jarvis Hotels plc has established itself as one of the UK's leading hotel companies with a portfolio of over 60 hotels in around 50 locations throughout Great Britain. In 1996 the company... Read review

Three nights in the Ramada Jarvis!
Review of Ramada Jarvis Hotel, Brighton by  thebigc1690

Advantages: The whole experience was an advantage.
Disadvantages: -

...Having just returned from what I class as a well deserved break I thought I would write about the Hotel me and my family have just returned from. I decided at the last minute really that I would book us a weekend away and began to surf the net as you do looking for not only a bargain but a nice place to stay to boot. The place I eventually chose with the help of my fiancé was the Ramada Jarvis hotel in Brighton, I have never stayed in a hotel in Brighton before having only visited once previously and having stayed in a bed and breakfast so I cannot compare it to other hotels in the Brighton area but I can compare it to other hotels throughout Britain and indeed Europe as I am fairly well travelled. The first thing of note with this hotel is that it has a modern look without losing any grandeur, I often find modern hotels look... Read review

Ramada Jarvis-Christmas Party Night
Review of Ramada Glasgow Airport, Glasgow by  rustifer

Advantages: Beautiful location and not too expensive
Disadvantages: Not being able to book online for this package

...Having already spent a very nice short break at the Ramada Jarvis Gourock Hotel for my birthday a couple of years ago we decided to book the Christmas Party Night for the 16th November. I know it’s a bit early to be celebrating Christmas but for us it was just an excuse to get away for the weekend. The Ramada Jarvis Gourock is situated on the Firth of Clyde, within easy reach of Glasgow Airport and the city centre. It is also handy for beauty spots like Dunoon and Greenock. The Christmas Party Night package includes, for £40 per head, an overnight stay with Christmas dinner and disco (finishing at 2am) and breakfast the next morning, as well as full use of the hotel facilities. Check in is at 4pm leaving plenty of time for a swim before dinner, which is served, from 6.30 until 9pm. Our room was very spacious... Read review

A hotel built around a mill
Review of Ramada Jarvis, Perth, Scotland by  grovej

Advantages: Good Location
Disadvantages: Rooms in need of redecoration

...Whilst away on business at our head office in Perth Scotland, I recently stayed in the Ramada Jarvis Perth. ++++++++++Location++++++++++ The Jarvis is located pretty much in the centre of Perth, so has good access to the bars and restaurants. Near to the hotel are the following bars The Foundry, The Sandeman, and Sportsters, also near is the local cinema if you want to catch a film. As for restaurants is it not too far to walk to Dos Amigos (Mexican) or Pacos (American/Italian). Being in the town does make parking a bit difficult but the hotel has parking for around 10 cars outside the hotel and has a small private car park across the road, this will probably take about 20 cars as well. ++++++++++Formalities++++++++++ My room was booked through my companies travel department so I don't know the cost of the room but through... Jarvis International Hyde Park in Bayswater Road
Review of Jarvis Hotel, Bayswater Road by  tyger

Advantages: Close to Fun Bits of London
Disadvantages: Regular Price is Expensive

...Update: 10 Novemeber 2001: Well, it's not a Jarvis anymore. It's been a 'Ramada Jarvis' for a few months now. I don't know if this makes a huge change to the basics but there's a new decor outside - new paint and shiny new signs. It's still a big hotel on the Bayswater Road and they do still send me discount e-mails for weekend breaks. I'm too skint at the moment to do an investigation for Ciao! :-) I have wondered what the big hotels that line the Bayswater Road are like for a long time. I used to live in Bayswater a few years ago and therefore had no need of them. Now, as I ride on the Oxford Tube for at least four [more likely five these days]round trips a week to get to work, the hotels were recently becoming a bit of an obsession. 'Oh, if only I could stop and stay somewhere instead of travelling all the way back to Surrey,' I... Read review

jarvis chichester
Review of Ramada Jarvis Chichester Hotel, Chichester by  dansteele316

Advantages: excellent location and service
Disadvantages: prices may seem a little steep if you want to stay sometime

...The jarvis is a great place to stay. Set in a fantastic location upon the south coast. You are approx 5 mins from goodwood racecourse and motor circuit. At the right time of year you can see the glorious goodwood week and the world known festival of speed and revival festival held at the race circuit bringing back the memories of yester year. You are also two minutes from Chichester town center and 30 mins from portsmouth and worthing. The hotel itself is very stylish and as you pull up to it you feel the class it has. The entrance hall is like an inclosed paradise island courtyard. The reception is like a small building as is the hall and corridors to all rooms and facilities. The resurant is very nice and the food is of the highest order. The rooms are very spacious and they are clean and tidy plus the dont look old and shabby like... Read review

Och Aye an did you see the wee beastie
Review of Ramada Jarvis Hotel, Inverness by  whitbybunny

Advantages: Close to city centre, nice menu, spacious studio rooms
Disadvantages: Run out of bare essentials, don't live up to promises

...The Loch Ness monster was not spotted by me on this visit to Scotland but as some of you know I am back and forth to Inverness until the end of the month, so I still have plenty of opportunity to have a sighting of the legendry beast. I was on business with three male colleagues (lucky stuff hey?) and returned home last night after a mammoth journey home via Gatwick. You may have seen the reports of delayed and cancelled flights on the news yesterday – it was a nightmare… This review is about the accommodation that we stayed in whilst we were there. The Ramada Jarvis Inverness hotel was booked for us by our employer and although I do have some stories to tell, it wasn’t an overall bad stay and I would go back again – but then again I have no choice as I still have to stay there again before the month is out! ~ ~ Hotel... Luigi's Mansion - Leicester Stylee
Review of The Ramada Jarvis Hotel (Leicester) by  LostWitness

Advantages: Good location
Disadvantages: Feels like Luigi's Mansion

...The Ramada Harvis Hotel in Leicester (formerly The Grand) sits in the centre of the city, right in the middle of the main shopping high street. The hotel is approximately ten minutes’ walk from the railway station and is close to many of the city centre bus services. I was brought to the city on business, at a call centre about fifteen minutes’ away, but the hotel is well-placed for any visitor the city. The hotel offers limited, complementary parking but do check this when you book. As I was unfamiliar with the area, I asked a couple of local colleagues where the hotel was, and they referred to it only as The Grand. Bear this in mind if you are asking for directions, as the Ramada Jarvis name tag does not seem to have been adopted by the locals yet. RECEPTION AND ARRIVAL The main entrance to the hotel opens straight out onto... Read review

Jarvis Hotel, Bristol
Review of Jarvis Hotel, Bristol by  polydeuces

Advantages: Good leisure club,nice rooms
Disadvantages: Unfriendly staff

...The Jarvis Hotel is a couple of miles north of Bristol in an area called Winterbourne. As a former country house built in the mid 19th century and with extensive grounds it has every going for it as a hotel. The Jarvis group have spent a lot of money refurbishing the place including an excellent Poolside leisure Club with swimming pool, spa, solarium and under-utilised exercise equipment. As is often the case the pool is a little small and you soon learn how a goldfish must feel swimming around the same extent of water only about 6 times your body length. The rooms in the old part of the hotel are quite spacious but you may find those in the newer part little better than a motorway lodge for size. They are clean and tidy and have the obligatory tea-making facilities. All rooms are en-suite. The bar is cramped but nearby is a huge... Read review

Jarvis Penns - Sutton Coldfield
Review of Jarvis Penns Hotel, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands by  sue.51

Advantages: Pleasant surroundings, good food and leisure facilities
Disadvantages: room not to the standard of some hotels

...Towards the end of last year, my partner and I were looking for somewhere to stay for a short weekend break. After trawling through a lot of newspapers and websites, my mother suggested checking out the Jarvis web-site after seeing some cheap deals on Teletext. Up until this point, I did not associate the words cheap and Jarvis in the same sentence. I checked out their web-site for prices and availability, and contacted the hotel directly, who confirmed, that whilst they did not normally honour web prices over the phone, they would on this occasion. We booked to stay for a Friday and Saturday night at a rate of £49.98 per room per night including breakfast. The hotel is an old country house in large grounds, with its own lake, that has been converted and tastefully extended into a hotel with 170 rooms. There is a very large... Read review
