THE reference book for HTML4, DOM, CSS & JavaScript
Review of Dynamic HTML: The Definitive Reference - Danny Goodman by  malross

Advantages: Covers every aspect of DHTML with excellent reference to browser inconsistencies
Disadvantages: Will slowly be going out of date - keep checking for revisions!

...Dynamic HTML - The Definitive Reference, by Danny Goodman As a reference book for HTML, the Document Object Model (DOM), cascading style sheets (CSS), and JavaScript, this book is unsurpassed. The quality is something I've come to expect from the O'Reilly series of internet development books. Not only does it cover every detail of these topics (up to HTML 4.0), it also states which browsers, and which versions, support each element. This alone is enough to make it an indispensable reference for the web developer. However, it is also clear that a lot of thought has gone into how the information in the book is organised, with good cross-referencing sections, as well as a good example-laden introduction and well-structured main sections on each of the technologies that combine to produce DHTML. If I were stuck on 37 Signals... Read review

Mears Transportation Florida
Review of Mears Transportation (Orlando) by  Dalesman

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Plenty

...don't believe the word watch or clock figures in their vocabulary , in fact some of the time they simply never turned up at all, when I telephoned for a Mears Taxi they kept me hanging on and more often than not the taxi never turned up.. ~~~o0o~~~ I booked a Taxi 3 or 4 days in advance to take us to the Orlando Airport to catch the flight on our departure day and despite having a booking reference number the Taxi never turned up and Mears Operator claimed no knowledge of ever having recieved a booking, I complained to the Virign Rep, who telephoned Mears, but they wern't that interested, said they had no knowledge and sent another taxi out, we waited some 30 mins with our cases outside the hotel waiting for this taxi to turn up, no appologies in fact apart from calling out our surname and at the end of the journey asking... Excellent Reference Books
Review of Member Advice on Computer Books by  jonwhite

Advantages: Detailed, informative, excellent reference books
Disadvantages: Costly at £35 - £ 40

...I can highly recommend the BIBLE series of computer reference books. I own 3: Dreamweaver 2 Bible, Access 97 Bible and Windows 98 Bible. They are all in daily use and are invaluable to me as reference tools. They are normally around the £40 ($50) price but are undoubtedly excellent value for money. Each book usually comes with a CD packed with tutorials, help files, examples and other useful programs. As a learning aid to programs they are brilliant and I believe they are second to none. The books are published by IDG Books and there are many titles available covering a wide range of topics. With each book containing about 1000 pages you can't fail to find the answers to any queries you have.... Read review

If you only buy one reference book, buy this.
Review of Oxford Dictionary of English (Dictionary) by  fmml

Advantages: Comprehensive and easy to use
Disadvantages: Large, heavy and easily damaged.

...to dream up! The Actual Book So far, we've established that this book is a veritable mine of information. Now onto the practical issues. This is a large, heavy book (about 27.5cm by 22cm by 7cm) . Strictly only for reference. Its place is on a bookself, not being transported anywhere. The pages are inevitably thin and easily crumpled and torn if you're not careful with it. The dustjacket will get ripped and bent - it's a bit of paper which slides over a heavy hardback cover; it's going to happen sooner or later. Be careful if you do as I do: find the right entry while walking back to your desk, then absentmindedly put it down, open, on an uneven surface. If it falls off, something will probably get ripped because of the weight of the book. Basically, be very careful, use it only as reference book, and, if you use it frequently, expect... Read review

An excellent reference book
Review of Football Fan's Guide - Janet Williams by  toneboy7

Advantages: An excellent reference book
Disadvantages: Can become quickly outdated

...As a frequent travelling football supporter I have seen quite a few football fan's guidebooks, but this is definitely the most useful book that I possess in that category. While covering only English professional grounds (presumably to allow it to fit in your car) each team is presented with contact details, a number of maps, parking guides, food guides, pub guides and all sorts of information you never thought you would find useful. I find this particular book invaluable there are a few problems. All reference books by nature become quickly outdated, and given the number of teams that move stadiums along with new teams joining the league every year this book is no exception. The other problem is one of size. It is a bit chunky, and so not to be considered as pocket material should you be travelling by means of public... Read review

Transport yourself back in time
Review of London Transport Museum (London) by  duskmaiden

Advantages: child friendly, something for most people
Disadvantages: fairly static collection, a few pointless audio visuals

...Transport is in my blood. My father was a bus driver and is obsessed by most things that have wheels and moves. Trains, buses, cars, and lorries, you name it he has videos, books and models of them. I've caught the bug and become a bit of a London Underground junkie being fascinated by the history and development of this much maligned transport system. I have become such a geek I recently took a one day course on the Art and Architecture of London Transport. This was held in the subject for this review, the newly reopened London Transport Museum in Covent Garden. I have been to a number of Transport museum such as the tram museum at Critch and the Glasgow Transport Museum but the London one had so far eluded me. Housed in the old Victorian Ffower market the museum has had a 22.5 million face lift and relaunch. The museum... Read review

Transport from heaven
Review of Switzerland Transport by  greatmum1

Advantages: Efficient and realiable
Disadvantages: None

...Swiss Transport System Last year we went to Switzerland in May bank holiday. My Swiss experience has been unforgettable. You might think why did I wait so long for writing a review? Well, there is so much to write, I did not know where to start and where to finish. Two things I liked the most about Switzerland- Swiss transport and Swiss refuse disposal system. Well I do want to start writing about garbage first, so I will start with the transport system. The transport network consists of rail, buses, boats and cable cars- all accessed by one pass. The punctuality is beyond expectation- I am not sure if they set their clocks by train time or the other way round! When to book: ---------If you wish to visit Switzerland, its best to book before you go there. The travel centre in London is very helpful. You could look up over... Read review

My kind of Transport!
Review of Transporter 2 DVD by  NewYork2006

Advantages: Loads of action, sexy cars, great soundtrack
Disadvantages: None really!

...I absolutely loved this film!! I've been watching a lot of comedies lately but my friend bought me Transporter 2 for my birthday and thought I would watch it to make a change. I finished watching it about 15 minutes ago and had to come straight on here to tell you all about it!! This obviously is a sequel to the film The Transporter (hence the highly clever name Transporter 2!). Incase you haven't seen the first one and have no idea what I am talking about, The Transporter is Frank Martin played by Jason Statham (Revolver, Collateral, Mean Machine) and he is as the title suggests, a Transporter. He is paid to transport things from one place to another and the 'things' he is transporting are usually highly dangerous or something that somebody else wants and Frank therefore has to defend his life, and the 'thing' he is transporting...
