Blame it on Rio
Review of Rio de Janeiro by
indiecater
Advantages: Spectacular, exciting and perfect for budget travellers.
Disadvantages: Is that a knife in your pocket or are you just trying to rob me?
...on by the city authorities such as the Pao Music concerts which host Gilberto Gill amongst others. If reggae is not your thing then you can marvel at the foot volleyball that often defies description with skill levels not yet dreamed about back home.
Ipanema (you know the song 'Girl from Ipanema') is a swanky suburb that boasts a better beach than Copacabana and a more laid back atmosphere. It also feels safer which means that on weekends every grain of sand hosts a different soul. The beach is divided up by
different lifeguard posts. Posta No 9 is where the beautiful people (or at least the people who think they are beautiful) hang, just down from it Rio's gay population comes out to play (complete with Rainbow flag) and a bit further down you'll get high as the hippies fill their pipes with the sort of stuff the Happy Mondays craved for years...

The Real Rio de Janeiro
Review of Rio de Janeiro by
jala
Advantages: Beaches, gorgeous tropical islands, unbelievably great value.
Disadvantages: Having to keep your wits about you, but no real problem.
...They call the city of Rio de Janeiro "Cidade Maravilhosa" (The marvellous city), I have to say that visiting Rio was an eye opening and awe inspiring experience. This review is a selection of the best parts, with a few pointers on what not to do there.
SAFETY TIPS
------------------
**Hotels
First of all, it is recommended that tourists stay in a Hotel that is on the coastal road of Copacabana beach - Avenida Atlantico, or one of the coastal roads that run adjacent to Ipanema beach. Or choose one that only a short distance from the coast. This is because if you want to go out at night, you will not have to walk down any side roads, where you are only asking for trouble. Therefore it is much safer to take a taxi. Take 'Sul' taxis. They are yellow, with a blue strip down the sides. We were tricked a few times by other taxi...

Give your music a RIO-Tastic blast
Review of Rio 600 64 MB by
Desolate_Cash
Advantages: Small compact, smart, tastey, and interchangeable covers make it personal.
Disadvantages: Battery wares down extreamly quickly.
...Introductions…
The Diamond Rio 600… A wonder of mans ingenuity, Sexy, elegant and highly sophisticated. This little beauty was one of the first in the Rio MP3 Revolution and with its endless array of options is it surprising that it was such a hit?
My personal experience…
I personally purchased a Rio 600 just over a year ago now, MP3’s had just started to become popular and the Rio 600 was an advancement in technology rarely seen before. Whilst it appears simple, and by today’s advancements I suppose it is, it really is more than its appearance might lead you to believe. In order to make it look less complicated the Rio 600 works via an internal menu. In other words, you push the menu then scroll through the options much as you would on a mobile phone – See my op on the Nokia 3310...

Go to Rio!
Review of Rio de Janeiro by
1234
Advantages: You must go!
Disadvantages: none
...Rio de Janeiro is to me one of the most beautiful countries in the world.
You have everything to enjoy yourself at Rio, and one thing that you are not going to feel is bored. I know Rio very well, and I would say that if you think in holiday think of Rio. It is in the air the way the cariocas live. They are happy people!
I would say it is a very informal city where you can go out in your good old pair of jeans...and there are lots of places to go. Food is one of the things you have to try...meat you can eat with no worries. It is a place or the place where you feel happy and relaxed. You do not need to go to Italy to eat a good pizza, go to Rio. :-)
It is really nice place to visit, but to many british people is going and not returning and I think that Tony Blair is not going to like much, because who is going to pay for the high...

"IT'S NAME IS RIO AND IT FITS INSIDE MY HAND"
Review of Rio Nitrus 1.5GB MP3 Player by
pesky33
Advantages: small, light, hols 750 WMA tracks, easy to use
Disadvantages: none that I've found yet
...happy with WMA, and I get more on my player that way.
PRICE
I found a reconditioned one on eBay for £80 including postage, a sight better than the £120 from all my local electronics stores. The whole thing came in a white box, so I can’t comment on the packaging, or on the booklet, but if I could work out what I had to do with the player without instructions, it must be easy enough for anyone.
LOOKS
As I said, the hard drive is 1.5 GB, which is the same size as an iPod mini, but the Rio is a lot smaller than that, weighing in at 78g (26g less than the mini, fact fans) I personally think it’s a much nicer looking device too, with it’s sleek black outer, with nice curves that just fit into the palm of your hand beautifully. It always feels like a smooth stone sitting in my pocket as I wander round. The black can show up fingerprints...

Not so reliable Rio
Review of Rio 600 64 MB by
antlynch2000
Advantages: Great Looks and Great sound quality
Disadvantages: Reliability
...I recently purchased a Rio 600. When I took it out of it's box the first thing that struck me about it was it's looks. It looked great, a very modern design and a very nice texture too. The sound quality was great when I tried it out for the firest time, and the fact that it only needed one AA battery to run was a huge bonus. Then after one month of use the problems hit me. The button that is used to skip forward one track became disfunctional. This meant that I had to skip back through all of the other tracks just to skip one track. The Rio 600 is also beautifully illuminiated by a blue backlight. This stopped working. Recently these features have stared working again - to my relief. This brings me to ask how reliable the Rio 600 is. It's no use having great sound quality if you have trouble acessing the sound....

review of the kia rio 1.3
Review of KIA Rio 1.3 by
arnoldhenryrufus
Advantages: Price won't break the bank, reliable, good looking, large hatchback, economical, quiet, its quite sporty
Disadvantages: if you are tall there is not a lot of leg room between the rear and front seats, mine doesn't have air con
...My husband and I have two Kia's, technically mine is the Kia Carens and his is the Kia Rio (well on paper anyway), but it is me that drives the Kia Rio 1.3 - mine is in metallic blue.
We initially brought it as ex demo mobile when it was 5mths old with only 2000miles on the clock, me being the hard business woman (from watching all these car programmes on tv with my hubby), negotiated the price down from just over £6399, down to £5,300 and they fitted my cd player in it as well for nothing, plus taxed it for 6mths.
(you can hire me out if you like, only joking)
Anyway back to the car. I think she is beautiful, she has wonderful lines, I like to think of her as a girlie car as she is MINE.
Well less of the girlie version, here's a little technical stuff.
I have the 1.3 version, 5 door model, 03 reg, metalic blue...

The amazing rio 600.....
Review of Rio 600 64 MB by
jimbomcconnell
Advantages: brilliant
Disadvantages: rubbish headphones
...Some may say that it is not worth buying an Mp3 player, and to be honest I was one of them. Then I came accross this wonderful piece of technology, the Rio 600. Its not strictly an mp3 player, it is a Digiral Audio Player, as it can play windows media files as well as mp3's.
It has a 32mb memory, and can hold up to 30 minutes of mp3 or a whole hour of windows media files. It comes with brilliant software to create windows media and mp3. It is fully future proof, as its chips can be upgraded. It uses a USB connection for your PC, so it is easy to transfer the music from your PC. The AA battery lasts a full 10 hours, surprisingly long. It is beautifully designed, and looks the business. It is a handy shape and size, and very convinient to use.
The sound quality can only be described as brilliant, even just using headphones...

Her name is Rio
Review of KIA Rio 1.3 by
Expired-Account
Advantages: Cheap, reliable, comfy
Disadvantages: Name, quality
...it looked nice on the outside the interior was quite cheap looking, covered in walnut dash and plastic accessories. It really wasn't the car I thought it was and it wasn't the car for me. I also looked at an Astra, a nice car, a far superior interior to the 45, but for the money I had it would have been an older car than I really wanted. Then, my boyfriend's dad suggested that I tried our local Kia Garage. I took my boyfriend and had a look, my eye was immediately caught by the Rio they had on display, it was cheap, it was only two years old and it looked nice from all angles.
I took the car for a test drive, the staff were wonderfully helpful. They simply gave me the keys and explained the indicators and wipers were on the other sides than the way I was used to in the Volvo. They put on the special plates and off I went. I had driven quite...

Rios Routine Rocks
Review of Rio's (Bradford) by
AliceCarroll
Advantages: it feels like home to me!
Disadvantages: umm...oh, ok, its vile
...Another Friday night in Bradford, and I'm getting ready to go out. Well, I say "getting ready to go out"...but in reality I am pulling on a pair of jeans and shoving my hair up into a ponytail-in fact I am dressing-down from my usual rather girly attire into something decidedly more casual. Rio's (or as it is affectionately termed by its fans-and staff-"the premier Rock venue of the North") is one of the few night spots in the world that you actually scruff yourself up a bit to attend. It is a commonly known fact by Rios regulars such as myself that you DO NOT wear anything new to Rios, as if you do you will find it ruined in some way or another by the next morning.Just like I ruined my pink dolly shoes. And clothing stinks the next day too, a distinctive unmistakeable Rios smell...you get used to it after a while.
My friends and I...
