Reviews of rive gauche perfume
An excellent present UPDATED
Review of Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche by
SusanLesley
Advantages: Lovely fragrance, good range of products
Disadvantages: Possibly expensive?
...If you're looking for a perfume to buy as a present for a lady of any age - then look no further than Rive Gauche by Yves St Laurent. There is a wide range of products from which to choose so you can spend as much or as little as your wallet will allow.
The fragrance itself is quite light and not too overpowering so it is equally suitable for wearing during the day or during the evening. It also means that it would be an excellent choice of gift for someone whose tastes you weren't quite sure of.
The design of the packaging and the containers holding the perfumes and powders are all a distinctive blue, silver and black, which makes them instantly recognisable as Rive Gauche.
The 50ml eau de toilette spray currently costs £26 in the Empire Stores catalogue, but I would imagine that it could be bought more cheaply at one of the many...

Just One Spray
Review of Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche by
ms19
Advantages: very popular, nice smell, great packaging
Disadvantages: none
...Rive Gauche is a very strong perfume and definitely one for the evening. It is by Yves Saint Laurent and is very popular, many people I know wear it. Even after YSL bringing out many new perfumes none seem to beat this one. I have tested out some of the recent ones but still do not like any of them as much as this.
Thi perfume could be worn in day but I think it is for night. It comes in different measures but I have the 50ml bottle which is around £26+ I am not too sure. The smell is hard to describe, I would probably describe it as flowery but very strong. You do not need to wear lots of this fragrance so one spritz would be enough. This stays on very well so you do not need a lot on for this reason too.
One thing I love about the perfume is the packaging it is very posh and luxurious. This has a very classy look with the blue...

my favourite
Review of Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche by
inde
Advantages: smells wonderful and lasts for hours
Disadvantages: none
...I have been using rive gauche for more than 10 yrs and have tried others during that time but have never really found another that i loved as much, it's fragrance is sweet but not overpowering and i find it suits me and i am often told so, people say they love the smell and ask me what it is, then they go out and buy it too. So we can't all be wrong. I also find that certain fragrances can give me headaches too but i have never had one while wearing rive gauche, it also lasts ages. i do however believe that as we all smell differently anyhow it can smell different from one person to another but i would definately recommend it to anyone....

IF YOU ASK ME Y?
Review of Yves Saint Laurent Y Eau De Parfum Spray by
Morning_Becomes_Electra
Advantages: Beautiful light powdery rose fragrence.
Disadvantages: Lasting power not too great.
... 'Y' Perfume by Yves Saint Laurent
Y is one of the many perfumes from the range of Yves Saint Laurent. It comes in a plain white box with gold writing and a large Y to the front. The weight on the bottle I have, which is a vaporisateur is 100ml 3.3 fl oz. The bottle is square and the gold push down spray top is a fanned shape. It has a good solid look to it, and is finished off with gold writing to the front.
Created in 1964, Y was brought out to represent the haute couture of the house of Yves Saint Laurent. It's a classic fragrance, quite timeless really, and a suitable perfume for day or night I would say. It's light and green, with notes of jasmine. It has a delicate smell of powdery roses, quite lovely, and Y is one of my very favourite perfumes. I find it a little similar to Rive Gauche, only much lighter. Y...

Ooooo! LA LA!
Review of Yves Saint Laurent Paris Eau de Toilette Spray by
Morning_Becomes_Electra
Advantages: Divine fragrence.
Disadvantages: May be too sweet for some.
... PARIS - Yves Saint Laurent
I just adore the perfumes of Yves Saint Laurent. There are so many I like from this one maker. All very distinctive too. His 'Y' is the most beautiful fragrance, as is Rive Gauche, Baby Doll and many others. Paris is one of my firm favourites, and one of the first I owned of his.
Paris comes in a salmon pink, gold, and black square box. Quite chunky, like the perfume. The bottle is dimpled, clear glass, quite squat and round, like a squashed ball. It has a black and pink chubby top to it. With Yves Saint Laurent written in gold lettering to the front of the bottle. There is nothing really feminine, or particularly attractive about the bottle, and the basic looking bottle belies the perfume inside. The bottle of Paris de toilette I have is a 75ml bottle, 2.5fl.oz. It has a black push down atomiser...

PUTS AN HALO OVER MY HEAD
Review of Charles Worthington Heavenly Hairwash Outrageously Rich Shampoo by
belinda9
Advantages: smells beautiful, hair is all soft now
Disadvantages: want to eat it
...in and rinse. If you use loads of hair gel or other styling products like me , then I would repeat the procedure. I always wash my hair twice now, as some shampoos still leave a residue in your hair.
The shampoo comes out of the bottle easy enough, it isn't too thick or neither too runny. It smells quite perfumed, rather like a scent than a shampoo smell. It left my hair smelling great, I didn't need to apply an other perfume that day lol.
I can't really explain the fragrance, it's rather sweet smelling, similar to Rive Gauche perfume.
It's in fact gorgeous.
The real ingredients are.
Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Chloride, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Glycol Distearate, Betaine, Citric Acid, Glycine, Peanut Oil, Threonine, and Proline.
I'm sure you have heard of them all!!!
Well I have tested it now...

Selecting a Sensuous Perfume
Review of Chanel No 19 by
Freespirit
Advantages: Quite simply this perfume makes me feel good.
Disadvantages: none
..., powdery aroma. Chanel introduced this family in 1921 with Chanel 5. The aldehydics also enhance natural scents and add a bright effervescent note and are used in virtually all modern perfumes. Others famous perfumes in this family include: Arpege, Caleche, White Linen, Rive Gauche.
Chypre – (pronounced sheepra) is the French name for Cyprus which is the legendary birthplace of Venus. Fairly heavy and clinging, often classic and sophisticated this family always includes patchouli and oakmoss. This family can be represented by Miss Dior, Femme, Ysatis.
Floral – is the largest family and may contain a single predominant fragrance or a mixed bouquet. Famous florals include: Joy, L’Air du Temps, Fracas, Fidji and Giorgio.
Green – Often described as the scent of fresh cut grass which I think is a little misleading...

Effortless Parisian Relaxation
Review of Hotel Saint Paul Rive Gauche, Paris by
blackpuddinonnabike
Advantages: Hotel Cat; Location; Comfort; Friendliness
Disadvantages: No view
...Despite living in France for a year, and visiting on numerous occasions I'd never actually been to Paris before. So for a first visit I really wanted the hotel to live up to the promise of the city - and the Hotel Saint Paul Rive Gauche certainly did that.
Right from the welcome at reception we knew things would be relaxed here. The hotel cat, Sputnik, lounging on the reception desk summed up the feel. If anything my only gripe came at this point, and it was nothing to do with the cat (who was fantastic, though I do recognise not everyone would be so happy to see a moggy at reception), but rather that the receptionist spoke to us in English when I was speaking in French. Really a very minor complaint when her English was so good, and it's a common trait in the big French cities and not really worth getting worked up about.
Staying...

Just Breezing along with the Breezer!!!!!
Review of Bacardi Breezer by
Hippychick54
Advantages: many
Disadvantages: small bottles
...of something else - that would be the bacardi then - beautiful! (Warning alcohol content 5.1%)
Price - £2-50 - not bad considering - so lets have another and get my funky keyring! Damn the 200 calories it tastes good!
Funky disco keyring is superb, a little ball that when switched on lights up in different colours - bet I'll lose that to my daughter when I get home!
Second breezer went down like the first - well it had to be quick the wasps were bothering me - it was either the Rive Gauche or the orange drink..... but after the drink they still bothered me so it must have been the perfume!
We decided to go and were just walking out of the pub garden when in walked Ernie and Lynne - big hugs all round...haven't seen them for ages..'you can't go yet Kate come and have a drink with us'!
Well, what choice did I have? Ernie bought a round and guess...

SEXY AND SENSUAL- I'VE GOT THE EDGE!
Review of Calvin Klein Euphoria by
Morning_Becomes_Electra
Advantages: Long lasting, and a gorgeous scent
Disadvantages: None really.
...Calvin Klein Euphoria Eau de Parfum Spray 30ml
Euphoria by Calvin Klein
I adore perfume, in fact I feel naked without it, and I am quite fussy about the perfumes that I use. I prefer a French perfume, and these usually come with quite an expensive price tag. So I would rather wait till I receive it as a present, or I feel that the laying out of the money on a luxury can be afforded. I have quite a few favourites, and I usually go for any perfume by Yves St Laurent. My favourites being Rive Gauche, and 'Y'. Romance by Ralph Lauren is another favourite of mine. As is Miss Dior by Christian Dior. I also love the Japanese perfume L'eau Dissey by Issey Myaki which I received from my Husband as a impromptu present last year. So when asked...
