Coco Pops Rocks From Kellogg's
Review of Kelloggs Coco Pops Coco Rocks by
newby2
Advantages: Coco Pops Rocks From Kellogg's
Disadvantages: Coco Pops Rocks From Kellogg's
...Coco Pops Rocks From Kellogg’s
Cereal is something I love and I seem to go through boxes of the stuff. I can find that getting the same old sort is rather tiresome and I usually try and try newly released products or ones that are on special offer and I have yet to try.
These Coco Pops Rocks were on special offer in Tesco’s a few weeks ago and I think it was something like £2.50 pence for two boxes. They are smaller than most boxes but they are rather heavy and contain a lot of “Rocks” inside. They are fairly new out on to the market and no one I knew had tried them yet so I thought I would give them ago. These chocolate flavoured breakfast cereals I always find rather expensive and no always the best thing to be eating first thing in the morning. I do like to snack on them throughout the day or evening so I don...

AKG K240 Studio Headphones
Review of AKG K 240 Studio by
Gumbeh
Advantages: Typical AKG bulid quality - sturdy, comfortable and brilliant sounding
Disadvantages: None that i can think of...
...Essentially the same as the old K240 DF's that I replaced, these are another high quality example of AKG's offerings. Sound quality is as excellent as ever.
...Sound...
These are very versatile headphones as the sound reproduction is very good - as useful at home as they are in the studio. They have a good MF and HF range, good LF but can be a bit lacking sometimes - compared to the old 240DF's I had anyway. I use them at work sometimes for sound checks and they have always been pretty reliable.
...Durability...
They've been dropped, contorted and ran over; they still work as well as ever. Reasonably thick, sturdy cable which not only avoids getting tangled up with itself unlike smaller cables, but also helps to prevent damage from twisting, cutting etc.
...Comfort...
This was one of the main reasons I bought the newer...

Pop One Off
Review of BBC1: Top of the Pops by
peppersinclaire
Advantages: See op
Disadvantages: See op
...Okay, it’s not *so* bad that you want to turn over, but really, who can be arsed with TOTP anymore? It’s not that I find it DREADFUL, it’s just... there. Like rind on Edam, very fast rapping on a Busta Rhymes CD and a poorly head after 10 shots of gold tequila, you can always rely on it. Sort of.
For over 30 years (it was launched in 1964 - thanks to stevethesleeve for correcting me!), Top Of The Pops, or ver Pops as I like to call it, has been something of an institution. Which is fairly apt, seeing as some of the acts and presenters should be in one, ha ha. The premise has always been the same from its conception – the top acts in the UK charts travel on down to the studios in London to mime (sometimes VERY badly) to their song and mug at the camera. It’s a simple enough set up, which was enlivened (and...

My Rock Classics
Review of 10 Best Rock Songs by
Esless
Advantages: They are proper rock songs
Disadvantages: You may not know or like them
...themselves (in my opinion) with this offering of ‘throbbing’ electric blues guitar and funky drumbeats. The song is taken from the 1975 album Fandango which is a half live, half studio recording. The lyrics to this song are a little explicit, but they ROCK…
I been up, I been down
Take my word, my way around.
I ain’t askin for much
I said, Lord, take me downtown,
I’m just looking’ for some tush.
ZZ Top are renowned for many of their songs (think of Legs and Viva Las Vegas) which are all worthy of a place in my list, but it’s this track that really livens me up – my feet start tapping to the rhythm and that’s it – I’m lost in the music.
9 SWEET HOME ALABAMA by LYNYRD SKYNYRD
From the start this song has ‘movement’. It begins with a guitar intro...

It's only rock and roll, but i like it!
Review of 10 Best Rock Songs by
black_dog
Advantages: Sex, drugs and rock and roll
Disadvantages: Sex, drugs and rock and roll
...the rock world with his, well, out-of-this-world style, which included (admittedly to a slightly less musically based degree) setting his guitar on fire, using his teeth as a plectrum, and playing his instrument in an assortment of whacky positions. Purple Haze demonstrates his lose chordal style of playing (listen to bands like the Chili Peppers and his influence is undeniable) and utterly distinctive picking. One of those artists who tended to extend everything while performing, Hendrix is an example of how different you can sound live when compared with a studio recording. He is also the third casualty of rock (fourth if you include Brian Jones from the Stones) mentioned here, another victim of his own excess. Rumour has it that he was a charmer with the ladies, and more than a few have claimed over the years to be raising little Jimi...

FALSE GODS - AND POP IDOLS
Review of Pop Idol by
LostWitness
Advantages: Hayley
Disadvantages: Darius
...that’s wrong with the music industry these days. I disagree – I don’t think Pop Idol was exploitative – the contestants had the time of their lives, and I’m sure their appearances have opened up lots of opportunities. Pop Idol was an entertaining format. It grew in tension week on week, and certainly got everyone talking. Pop Idol has nothing to do with the pop industry being corrupt – it was like it before Pop Idol came along and always will be. Pop Idol was not supposed to be Rock Idol, or Opera Idol or Indie Idol – if you don’t like pop music, then chances are you wouldn’t have liked this series either.
Saturday night just doesn’t seem quite the same any more – it doesn’t help that Pop Idol has been replaced with that dreadful Stars In Their Eyes crap. It comes...

Nothing New Since Rock N Roll Track By Track
Review of Nothing New Since Rock 'n' Roll - Fight (The) by
xerofailure
Advantages: Great Catchy Pop/Rock Tunes Throughout
Disadvantages: Poor Longevity
...General
First off, I am a fan of the Fight. The Fight are K8 (Vocals and Guitar), Matty (Bass and Backing Vocals), Scott (Guitar and Backing Vocals) and Jack (Drums).
The Fight are a young band from Dudley, UK. 'Nothing New Since Rock N Roll' is their second release but is there first mainstream album. This album is much more polished than their first attempt 'Home Is Where The Hate Is' and features 3 of the same songs that have been given a overhaul.
The CD contains Explicit Lyrics.
The tracks that feature on both releases are 'Forgotten Generation', 'Stage Skool Kidz' and 'Revolution Calling'.
The CD was released in 2005 and The Fight are currently writing and recording for their 2006 release. The Fight have received much critical acclaim from the alternative music press including a spread a favorable

Rock n Rollercoaster
Review of Rock & Roller Coaster,Walt Disney Studio, Disneyland Paris by
shamis4
Advantages: superb ride with speed and inversions all in one
Disadvantages: 1.32m height restriction
...I have just been to Disneyland Paris with my family last week on our summer holidays and had loads of fun at the parks and in particular one of my favourite rides has to be Rock n roller coaster!
This ride is situated in the newer of the two parks in The MGM studios in which there are some of my favourite rides as well as Rock n Roller including Tower of Terror and Crush's Coaster (from finding Nemo). To get into the park there are lots of ways such as Package holidays or staying in the Disney hotels or accommodation or just buying a single day ticket for one or both parks.
Rock n Roller Coater as I said is situated in the studios at the back corner and has to be one of the best rides in the whole park - and having experienced the same ride in Florida in Disney world, I would certainly say this one in Paris is much better...

Hooray for Holl.....Florida
Review of Universal Studios by
Ork1927
Advantages: Fantastic rides, shows and 3d films to do with the Movies
Disadvantages: You can't drive the replica Delorean
...and chances are you will too (once you've got your bearings). It is fantastic and one of the best rides in all of Orlando. There will be big queue for this so it is one to grab a fast-pass for or run straight ahead as soon as you enter the park. You'll probably want to ride it more than once as well.
FOOD AND SHOPS
There are plenty of food outlets as you would expect. It is mainly fast food and quite expensive but still compares reasonably to in-park prices in the U.K. The meatball sub at the restaurant next to the Mummy was very good but I can't recall if we ate there another time. You can leave the Studios for a bit and go back out to City Walk where there is a range of restaurants including the Hard Rock Cafe if nothing takes your fancy in the park.
As for shops, nearly every single ride and attraction has its own shop (even...

Studio 1... Back To Being Great
Review of Studio 1 - All Saints by
simoon69
Advantages: The All Saints are back
Disadvantages: One dudd track
...(This review can be seen on www.popsalvage.co.uk, but its my site)
The All Saints are back. After five years apart (it's ok they now embrace their former hatred… in a good way) they have come back with the stunning 'Rock Steady' which has already hit number three in the charts and now the new album 'Studio 1' follows. The big question is has the reunion been worth it or should have they stayed solo/a duo?
New single 'Rock Steady' opens the album and it's a funky little number at 2mins 49. 'I've got my bags packed baby and I'm ready to go, look in my eyes rock steady and I promise you more'. It's an instant All Saints anthem and I think sees them sounding slicker than ever. Also Nicole (my fav) gets to sing a whole verse something that never used to happen! 5/5
I am praying that the rumours are true and 'Chick Fit' is the second...
