Disco Blows Dogs For Quarters
Review of Detroit Rock City - Various Artists by
bandcamp
Advantages: classic 70s rock songs + alcohol = happy bandcamp
Disadvantages: horrendously awful inclusion of a cover version...
...Disclaimer: This review was written over several days under the influence of alcohol, and will more than likely be a bit essay-ish (I'm sorry, I tend to ramble but it's usually relevent), contain sweary words, insults to disco music and emo poseur-c...types, and the author cannot guarantee she can keep her libido in check if we have to discuss good-lookin' folk. C'mon people, I know you've all got a little rock 'n' roll in you. And if you don't, you could have... :P Does that chat-up line work coming from a girl? Hmm...
+ "DISCO SUCKS" +
Seeing as how Detroit Rock City is probably my number one favourite movie and also stars the Object of My Lust (Giuseppe Andrews... be still my heart and girl parts...), it was pretty obvious that the moment I found out that there was a soundtrack available, that I would be moving mountains...

Panic! At The Disco - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out
Review of Fever You Can't Sweat Out, A - Panic At The Disco by
danfellowes
Advantages: Original, Unique, Catchy.
Disadvantages: Maybe too different for some.
...recently adopted a new bassist Jon Walker who replaced Brent Wilson last year. Spencer Smith on drums and percussion completes the foursome that makes Panic! At The Disco.
■The Album■
This album has many disputed genres due to the originality of the music. The music is incredibly well made, many different parts to it with a mass of instruments filling up some of the songs and they come out with a unique sounding album. The vocals and the style of singing has to be something to be credited for this originality, they work well with the music to make up the tracks. The sound is a mix of techno, rock and indie I suppose with some parts breaking down into very techno-like beats and others consisting of mainly guitars, drums and vocals making an Indie rock sound.
Lyrically as well the album is fantastic. For someone who enjoys...

Panic! At The Disco: Everyones new favourite band
Review of Panic! At The Disco - A Fever You Can by
briggsyrocks
Advantages: A superb singer, and two good albums in one
Disadvantages: The guitarist does very little
..., and Panic at the disco, with their ridiculously long song titiles, and clear personnas, clearly dont care that they have been labbled "emo" before even stepping foot off the plane, however, it is clear, that anyone who tradmarks Panic! as emo, has not been listening clearly enough to the music.
The first half of the album, is a romp of hard rock and techno, with the voice of lead singer Brendan Ross at the height of its yell. the unbelieable singing with such an open throat of Ross on this album, is definitely my favourtie thing about it. but that is not enough to create a brilliant album, which is where the conept of the album comes in.
To divert from the norm, techno is used in the first half, whereas the second half (the purpose of the intermission is to split the two up) is done using keyboards, accordians, violins, and all sorts...

"WHO ROCKS THE PARTY!"- CHICAGO ROCK CAFE'
Review of Chicago Rock Cafe' - Swansea by
fabfrog5
Advantages: its a colourful restaurant by day, funky club by night!
Disadvantages: you can't guarantee the drinks offers are on!
...CHICAGO ROCK CAFÉ - SWANSEA
There's a little club in the town near me and I won't go anywhere else! A lot of people will disagree with my opinion, but to me this venue offers so much.
I have been going to this club regularly since it first opened 5 years ago. I have eaten food there, seen many great tribute bands on stage, watched live sporting events, sat quietly with a group of friends and watched soaps on the big screen, and most importantly, I've danced the night away many times.
#A BRIEF HISTORY
Chicago Rock Café came to Swansea just at the end of the year 2000. It is a venue that opens early during the day time and serves food while a jukebox plays quietly or a film is shown on the screen. Not only is it a good quality themed restaurant, but you can continue your day out into the night with a live band or disco DJ...

Makum Disco
Review of Dog Disco - Leatherface by
Champ666
Advantages: Great Tunefull Bitter Punk Rock
Disadvantages: They Are From Sunderland
...Leatherface have been one of the most cruelly overlooked bands to emerge from the UK in the last 20 years. They have consistently made great melodic powerful punk rock, and have etched out their own sound. Quite a difficult thing to do in a genre that can rapidly run out of ideas and start to sound stale. Despite my love for punk rock even I can tire of the same idea being played out over and over again.
Letherface like all great punk bands have carved out their own unique sound you can tell a Leatherface song as soon as you hear the first note. Their totally unique guitar sound they have sticked to using Gordon-Smith Guitars (which are hand made in Partington near Manchester, and often cited as being the British equivalent to Gibson, I think that they are better), they switch effortlessly between intricate picking and good old...

He most probably did create disco.
Review of I Created Disco - Calvin Harris by
fraquelty
Advantages: Great bass lines on nearly al the tracks.
Disadvantages: Some filler tracks which are'nt needed.
...successful but im sure this wont be the case in the future.
5) Acceptable in the 80s - At first this song wasn't hugely appealing to me, but the more it got played, the more it grew on me. With it beginning to appear on adverts and tv programs more often its very unlikely that people wont recognize it. If you want people to dance at a party, this song would definitely do the trick.
6) Neon Rocks - Heard this song when Harris first came into the mainstream. Since then its been taken off his myspace but possibly this could be due to it being released in the future? Follows the same kind of tune to this is the industry but it offers so much more with its variety of synths and catchy lyrics.
7) Traffic cops - First filler track on the album, only a minute long and is basically and intro to vegas. Not much to say about it other than press...

Panic No Come To The Disco
Review of Fever You Can't Sweat Out, A - Panic At The Disco by
Playgirl27
Advantages: sublime music, completley different
Disadvantages: None
...INTRODUCTION
Well, I had to write a review on the band i can't stop listening to and am at the moment. I purchased the album saturday last in Woolworth's so was lucky after a good search. This particular band are from America. I first came across them on myspace music. After a listen to some of their tracks on their i couldn't wait to get the album. Panic at the disco's a fever you can't sweat out is so Easy to listen to and catchy.
They are from Las Vegas Nevada. When you listen to the album this does show. In one word a cabaret type feel to many of the tracks. You can certainly imagine them playing in a glitzy vegas hotel. You wouldn't think this for an any indie band but let me explain.
According to their page they are rock/indie/techno now this does show in many tracks. They have been signed by record company Fueled...

ROCK with Captain Rock
Review of To the Future Shock - Captain Rock by
in2deep
Advantages: awesome blend of hip-hop electro
Disadvantages: N/A
.... He also likes to fly around picking up girls in his Def ship.
Rock, Rock, Rock with Captain Rock, he rocks!
Captain Rock, To The Future Shock Album
Released: 04/11/06
Tracks
Cosmic Blast
Bongo Beat
House Of Rock
To The Future Shock
Return Of Captain Rock
You Stink
The Pure
Return Of Captain Rock Instrumental
House Of Rock 'Dub'
You Stink 'Dub'
You Stink Bonus Beat
Back to the future shock is a very special album with its fine blend of hip-hop electro tracks and the clear exploration of Captain Rock exploring musical styles possibly attempting to find his niche. Two of the releases on the album include "You Stink" and "Bongo Beats" which are more straight up rap cuts in comparison with his other electro tracks, and his debut "Cosmic Glide" which was more on the pre-electro disco-funk rap tip...

Rock City - Putting the Cock back into Rock!
Review of Rock City (Nottingham) by
Emma1973
Advantages: Lovely men, with lovely long hair
Disadvantages: Skinny chicks in hot pants, grrrrrrr
...bizarre that it costs £3.50 with an NUS card as Crash will cost you only a pound!
Love Shack - Every Friday, in 3 rooms, outrageous 60's, Disco 70's and cheesy 80's. £5.00 on the door.
Distortion - Saturdays, mainstream rock, hardcore, punk, ska, Indie & hip hop, will cost you a fiver without a a NUS Card or flyer.
Nailed - Saturdays, in the downstairs room, plays all that dodgy American metal stuff
Reloaded - Saturdays, in the Rig, DJ Dave plays classic Rock
Alternative Under 18's - Sunday, does what it says on the box, No beer!
So there you go, summat for practically every alternative person out there. We ended up going on the Saturday night.
I finally got all tarted up and was glad to find out that it was a 5 minute walk directly up the road from our hotel! Rock City right, premier gig and night club place, got...

Truck Rock
Review of 10 Best Rock Songs by
Truckle
Advantages: My choice
Disadvantages: erm... my choices!
...Hmmm! Top Ten Best Rock Songs, right lets see. This could probably change slightly week to week depending on what sort of mood I'm in. But I'll give it a go, some of them will be obvious choices some of it will be soft rock and maybe even some of the newer pop friendly rock but hey, it's my top 10 and its what I like to listen to at the moment. In no particular order I will begin:
Black Sabbath - Heaven and Hell
taken from "Heaven and Hell"
--------------------------------------------
Probably a controversial choice as it's with Dio on lead vocals and not Ozzy (Ozzy is fantastic btw). Its starts like a typical Sabbath song - big drums and a doomy guitar riff and builds up to a rocker song. The main reason I've included it, is that after the guitar solo when things do get a bit rockier it contains one of my favourite song lyrics...
