The Royal Wells Inn- "The Royal"
Review of The Royal Hotel (Tunbridge Wells) by
armychick
Advantages: 24 hr bar, luxury, well presented rooms, Affordable!!
Disadvantages: Having to leave!
...Firstly the Royal Wells Inn/Hotel/"the Royal" are the same things, a beautiful hotel in Tunbridge Wells.
The Royal Wells Hotel
Mount Ephraim,
Tunbridge Wells,
Kent
TN4 8BE
I was lucky enough to attend a wedding this weekend very near Tunbridge Wells, and of course we had to look for accomodation. It was a complete surprise, that my boyfriend had already booked a hotel when the bride announced the date and place nearly a year and a half ago. Apparently she had recommended this hotel as an excellent place to stay to all of her guests.
The Royal Wells Hotel got its name from Queen Victoria, who often visited as a young princess in the early nineteenth century. Later through her rein, she allowed the use of her Coat of Arms, which are prominently displayed at the entrance. Today the hotel still retains much of its Victorian...

Sweet life at Royal Palm Suite!
Review of Royal Palm Suite Hotel, Maraval by
ttspud
Advantages: Close to shopping centre/ city centre
Disadvantages: Shops close early, rooms slightly pricey
...One one of my many visits to beautiful Trinidad, I decided to try the Royal Palm Suite Hotel in Maraval. Having stayed in quite a few hotels and having heard positive reviews from family members, I decided to give it a shot and hopefully have an enjoyable stay. The hotel is mid sized with 70 or so rooms or suites, and is a family run local hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly and always had a smile or a kind word.
*LOCATION*
The hotel is a 20 minute drive from the Piarco International airport and taxis are readily availabe at the airport at a cost of around £15 (guests can make prior arrangements to be met at the airport by the hotel's in-house taxi service as well). Maraval is a fairly affluent area in the city with some very beautifu, large and expensive houses nearby. Nestled between the Maraval hills, the hotel...

A right Royal at Ross, Why?
Review of The Royal, Ross-on-Wye by
getscenic
Advantages: original victorian hotel, superb position and views
Disadvantages: creeky floorboards, rooms need updating
....
The bathroom again was large with everything spaced nicely. The bath was full sized not one of those silly shallow water saving ones you get in Holiday Inns etc. There is an over bath shower which if not careful would remove the skin from your back it was that powerful (most invigorating).
Back in the bedroom area there was a small 20in TV which was too low for comfortable viewing and needed to be wall mounted rather than on its small stand.
A reproduction dressing table and large mirror completed the furnishings.
But here comes the slight disappointment. The Hotel website states that they had completed a refurbishment in 2006. But all this room had seen was a coat of paint and what seemed like new curtains. The bathroom still had the old Best Western style warning signs and the bath suite was at least 20 years old and looking its age...

`·.,¸¸,.·´Charlotte in Wonderland`·.,¸¸,.·´
Review of 5:55 - Charlotte Gainsbourg by
SuperSpeedPuma
Advantages:
Disadvantages:
...been. now I edge really. mess around with your heart. and fill it to the brim with broken dreams. our coils goes under the knife. two lives may Be saved. and yew I sweater this off. i' ll refuses the Nobel prize. instead I will look into your eyes. yew I sweater this off your whole body will Be mines. and i' m prepared to work throughout the night. our coils goes under the knife. nothing is taboo [...]. Charlotte is very at ease in her English elocution, no distinctive French accent. Contrast between the whisper and environment a little rythmée is simply royal… and always also dazing. What a sound Spectacle! I was far from imagining at which point I could have been also admiring.

1 of the best Holiday inn hotels
Review of Holiday Inn Leeds, Brighouse by
emmachef
Advantages: I work there and right next to the motorway
Disadvantages: No lift to second floor
...I work for this hotel but I've also stayed here on my wedding night so you might think I'm being over generous with the scoring but I've stayed in alot of Holiday inn hotels and I can tell you this is the best so far.
If you need a hotel in a good location with easy access to the motorway then this is the hotel for you. Just off the M62, junction 25 going towards Brighouse. It sits on a hill with gorgeous surroundings, its a great location for weddings. It was built in 1989.
The car park is free for Hotel residents and guests using other facilities like the spirit club, bar area or restaurant. The car park has CCTV and can hold up to 220 cars on three levels and on the top level it has dedicated easy access car parking for blue badge holders only.
The hotel has 94 excellent rooms in total with a choice of standard, double...

The Inn Is Out
Review of Member Advice on Chain Hotels: Whitbread Travel Inns / Metros by
LostWitness
Advantages: Cheap and cheerful
Disadvantages: Basic
...a Whitbread restaurant and fixed room rates – but due to the additional costs incurred in central locations, the prices are slightly higher. According to the specific location, Travel Inn Metros cost between £46.95 and £54.95 per night. The standard of fixtures and fittings in Travel Inn Metros is normally slightly higher than those of a normal Travel Inn. Some Travel Inn Metros are old Travel Inns that have been refitted to a slightly higher standard. Travel Inn Metros suit travellers arriving by train.
Travel Inn Capital comprises five additional Travel Inns, all located in the centre of London. Where real estate and costs are so much higher, you would expect to pay more than elsewhere in the country, but the room rates still only range from £69.95 to £79.95 per room, per night. The newer Capital Inns tend to be well fitted, but the older ones...

Good Charlotte - The Young & The Hopeless
Review of Young And The Hopeless, The [ECD] - Good Charlotte by
ManUtdBoi
Advantages: fun to listen to, thought inducing
Disadvantages: people instantly discard it as kiddy music
...Charlotte to be something that they didnt want to be, or didnt accept them for who they are.
Its also about the fact that young people (including myself), do keep alot of feelings to themselves, particularly the sort of feelings that eat you up inside.
This, Good Charlotte's second album, following on from 2001's self titled debut (which didnt get a lot of coverage in the UK), will make a lot of people cringe due to the fact that, as I said, it is a genuinly emotional record that won't suit all tastes. So if your looking for a pick-me-up, then this isn't for you, but if your searching for an album full of great lyrics and songs with genuine feeling, then GC are for you.
Hold On
Probably the best song of them all. It is largely based around teen suicide, and says that if you can hold on then things will get better eventually.
'Hold on...

IF YOU REALLY MUST SEE A ROYAL BEDROOM
Review of The Royal Yacht Britannia, Edinburgh by
RICHADA
Advantages: Educational. Slightly Magical. A Great Visitor Attraction. Disabled Access Throughout.
Disadvantages: Situation and Surroundings. Some Material Decay Now Taking Place.
....
Behind the bridge is the larger Flag Deck, RMY Britannia carried around 2,000 flags. Most prominently flown, when the Queen was on board, were the Royal Standard - from the main mast, the flag of the Lord High Admiral (the Queen) and on the mizzen (third) mast the Union flag. One interesting fact that I learned from this visit was that the main mast and radio aerial had to be 'scandalised'. No, not a reference to the gutter press, but a naval term for hinging a mast - in this case the top twenty feet - in order that the ship could pass under bridges.
In the accommodation area underneath the Bridge and Flag Deck are situated the Admiral's Suite and Officer's cabins. The Admiral's Suite comprises a day cabin - a living room, come office, come dining room, a small sleeping cabin and a bathroom. Of the officers and crew, only the Admiral had...

Inn My Opinion....
Review of Travel Inn (Liverpool) by
Squiggles
Advantages: Economical, clean, modern and comfortable
Disadvantages: Lack of facilities, no room service
...I recently had cause to stay in one of Travel Inn’s motels/inns, at Tring, a small town just a few miles away from where I live. Travel Inn offers over 250 inns around the UK, each providing good quality basic but very comfortable accommodation, at a very reasonable price. They are ideal for ‘stopovers’ on long journeys as all have either a bar/restaurant included or are situated right next door to well known restaurants and eating chains.
The accommodation charge is just £40.95 per room and for this, you will get a modern, airy and fairly spacious double bedroom (please note the price quoted is per room only and does not include any meals) with en suite bathroom (and shower over bath), remote controlled colour television (basic channels), radio alarm and tea and coffee making facilities. The beds all have duvets...

A Holiday in(n) Leamington Spa? Well near enough!
Review of Holiday Inn, Leamington Spa by
philwalsham
Advantages: Great location for exploring Warwick or RLS
Disadvantages: Eratic customer service and staff abilities
...I’m torn between writing a glowing report of a hotel that is in a perfect position for travellers and business people alike or one that tears into the staff for their failings.
LOCATION
Firstly this hotel is in an odd position, just outside Royal Leamington Spa itself on a Retail Park / Business Estate, which isn’t as bad as it sounds but don’t expect stunning views of the surrounding countryside if you’re on the wrong side of the hotel! Incidentally, ignore the hotel blurb that says it ‘overlooks’ Warwick Castle – IF you are on the right side of the hotel you can just about see the castle on a good day.
It was built as a Marriott Hotel which has been taken over by the Holiday Inn chain who is owned by the InterContinental Hotels Group, they are best known in the UK for the Holiday Inn brand and Crowne Plaza hotels.
Personally I...
