Say Salut to this famous French product...
Review of Port Salut Creamy Cheese by
emmorticia
Advantages: tasty, not too much of a smell if this bothers you!
Disadvantages: none
...Second op in one day, I know, I'm sorry. But I've just dived into the fridge to find myself some lunch and spotted a round orange wrapper in our cheese box in the fridge - looks like my dad's finally bought Port Salut again!
Port Salut is a soft French cheese that is produced in the Abbaye du Port du Salut. Here it was invented in 1816 by Trappist monks, many of whom had learned the art of cheese-making as a means of survival after escaping France because of persecution in 1789 during the French Revolution, and returning in 1815. In 1873 the head of the abbey came to an agreement with a Parisian cheese-seller, giving them exclusive rights of distribution. In 1959 the rights were sold to a major creamery, and the cheese is now produced in a factory.
The cheese is easily recognised, with its distinctive orange wrapper and "Le...

Church of Santa Maria Dela Salute
Review of Santa Maria della Salute, Venice by
poshtroika
Advantages: Away from the Tourist Hoards of St Marks.
Disadvantages: None
...Just returned from our annual anniversery trip to Venice and noticed that no-one has done a review on this church as yet.
Just Jump on Vaperreto Number 2 outside St Marks.
As you stand by the water at St Marks you can not but notice a large Church on the opposite side of the Canal which is the Church of Santa Maria Della Salute, I am afraid I did not take any photos this year as the main dome is covered in scaffolding, in fact there seemed to be more buildings this year that were being worked on.
This is not a critism of Venice, by its nature restortaion work is a necessity.
It was on 22 October 1630 that the Senate of Venice decided to build a Church to Honour the Madonna to mark the end of the Plague which had devestated Venice.
So the first stone was laid on April 1st 1631, what a change from here where it seems to take...

IF YOU REALLY MUST SEE A ROYAL BEDROOM
Review of The Royal Yacht Britannia, Edinburgh by
RICHADA
Advantages: Educational. Slightly Magical. A Great Visitor Attraction. Disabled Access Throughout.
Disadvantages: Situation and Surroundings. Some Material Decay Now Taking Place.
...Once again this is a review written following the benefit of a second - rather different visit to this particular Scottish tourist attraction. I first visited the Royal Yacht Britannia on my own in 1999, the first year that it was open to the public having been "forcibly" retired to Leith Docks in Edinburgh.
I am not going to go too deeply into the politics behind the decision to put the Britannia on display in the Scottish capital, save to say that it seemed an odd one when the rest of the historic ships are either based in Portsmouth or Chatham. With absolutely no disrespect to Edinburgh at all, it was always my opinion that the Britannia should have retired in her home port - Portsmouth, where all the required facilities are on hand to look after her in a ready made historical naval setting. Indeed if she was to go to Scotland...

Join the Royal Navy and see the world....
Review of Armed Forces by
backstreetwoman
Advantages: A fantastic career
Disadvantages: None, none, none
...When I was 17 I joined the Royal Navy as a Wren. To say I thoroughly enjoyed my time in there would be an understatement. I learned my trade as a Radio Operator and also learned everything I needed to know about being in the Navy, such as how to salute correctly, how to march without doing the ‘dolly walk,’ how to polish my shoes to a high shine by spitting on them – yes, that’s right! – how to wear my uniform with pride and how to recognise different ranks, leading up to the Commander.
This was how it began……….
I started off my basic 6 weeks training at a Naval Base in Reading. Here, the Royal Navy weeded out those serious in becoming a fully fledged member of the Armed Force from those who just wanted to 'see what it was like.' We didn't wear the full uniform at this stage, just...

ROYALE WITH NO CHEESE!!!
Review of Casino Royale (2006) by
ultrafrosty
Advantages: A GREAT "REBOOT" OF THE BOND FRANCHISE!!!
Disadvantages: SOME CONFUSING TIMELINE ISSUES - BUT THAT'S ALL!
...I know that reviews of Casino Royale are popping up all over the place right now but I simply wouldn't have been able to forgive myself if I didn't put my own opinion of it forward.
From my childhood up to the present day, I have always been fascinated by James Bond. I always loved watching the Bond movies and through the years had every official Bond movie on video and then eventually on DVD.
I think it's just a guy thing… I'm sure there would be few men out there who would say that they wouldn't like to be James Bond. Okay maybe not in reality as most of us probably wouldn't last long at all but it can't be denied that any actor that has ever played Bond doesn't have the best job in the world while the role is theirs.

Royal Mail - Currently In A Strike Period!
Review of Royal Mail by
taylora-2006
Advantages: Print Postage Online
Disadvantages: Currently On Strike
...Royal Mail is the UK's number one postal service, infact many people aren't even aware that other postal companies even exist. So you'd expect them to be pretty good at what they do, to fight of all the competition? Well actually no, there service is pretty poor at times. Unfortunately we are stuck in a position now whereby Royal Mail is so well established that it would be hard for any other companies to compete. In this review I will only talk about Royal Mail's UK services as I rarely use their international services and want to base all my reviews on my own personal experiences.
So what does Royal Mail offer? Royal Mail offers a whole range of services. For standard mail (mainly letters and small items) they offer a first and second class service. First class should take 1 working day adn second class 2-3 working days. Costs start...

Where has the Royal gone from the Mail
Review of Royal Mail by
gt5952
Advantages: Some of the Staff
Disadvantages: Its falling to bits
...Im sorry, but I rate Royal Mail as Poor.
Its not so much the Postmans fault, but rather the oppression they face, thus causing the problems. Heres my review~

Royal Mail is the letters and packages business, covering the whole of the UK for a one-price-goes-anywhere universal service. Smell Royal & Beeeee Happy
Review of Boots Royal Jelly Shower Gel by
HotBlonde
Advantages: Smells Devine & Sexy
Disadvantages: Products in one shop
...********Back Ground**********
A few years ago I came across the Royal Jelly range. My friend used to use the body spray and I liked the smell. We wore it out when we went clubbing, as it was better than smelling of sweat. yuk - not very attractive to the opposite sex. A few years later I came across it in Boots in the form of bath and shower Gel. I had to buy straight away, as I wanted to treat myself.
As I was showering the smell took me down memory lane - sigh.......the good old days!!!!
Even after a couple of years of not smelling this product, the fragrance hasn’t changed one bit. It still smells divine and full of moisture. So not only does this product have a lovely fragrance, it is good for your skin. As it re-hydrates your skin and moisturises deep down. I cant stop smelling it, the fragrance stays quite well too...

The Royal Wells Inn- "The Royal"
Review of The Royal Hotel (Tunbridge Wells) by
armychick
Advantages: 24 hr bar, luxury, well presented rooms, Affordable!!
Disadvantages: Having to leave!
...Firstly the Royal Wells Inn/Hotel/"the Royal" are the same things, a beautiful hotel in Tunbridge Wells.
The Royal Wells Hotel
Mount Ephraim,
Tunbridge Wells,
Kent
TN4 8BE
I was lucky enough to attend a wedding this weekend very near Tunbridge Wells, and of course we had to look for accomodation. It was a complete surprise, that my boyfriend had already booked a hotel when the bride announced the date and place nearly a year and a half ago. Apparently she had recommended this hotel as an excellent place to stay to all of her guests.
The Royal Wells Hotel got its name from Queen Victoria, who often visited as a young princess in the early nineteenth century. Later through her rein, she allowed the use of her Coat of Arms, which are prominently displayed at the entrance. Today the hotel still retains much of its Victorian...
