Royal York Hotel, York
Review of The Royal York, York by
sharkel
Advantages: Beautiful surroundings, leisure faclities
Disadvantages: slightly expensive
...My partner and I stayed in this hotel for two nights very recently. We had originally booked into the York Ibis but I decided to book this hotel as a surprise for him and cancel the Ibis - and I'm glad I did. I researched quite a few hotels in York but this one seemed to have the grandeur, facilities and central location I was looking for - and it had a spa!
Originally named the Royal Station Hotel, the hotel was opened in the 1878 and was owned by the Northeastern Railway Company, the purpose of the hotel being to disguise the train station which is behind it. Although named the Royal Hotel, no member of royalty has actually stayed here. The hotel is built on an old Roman cemetery and there have been excavations, uncovering roman remains.

The Queen's hotel, York
Review of The Queens Hotel, York by
jdeacon_162
Advantages: Beautiful location
Disadvantages: Parking facilities, but thats it!
...Situated alongside the picturesque River Ouse, the Queens Hotel, York is in a key position within central York. All local amenities are yards away, and the city centre is only across a footbridge!
York railway station is located approximately 0.5 miles away, so this is perfect for a break without the hassle of driving. Leeds and Bradford airport is only 24 miles away, and can be reached then by taxi, public transport or even hire car. However, if you do want to drive, the motorway junction (A1) is around 11 miles away.
All rooms are equipped with en suite, tv and tea and coffee making facilities, but im sure you will only use these at night, as there are so many other places to eat and drink. The Riverside Bar is ideal for a few quiet drinks before dinner, where you can find a large selection of dishes at the Royal Brasserie...

A royal treatment indeed.
Review of The Fairmont Royal York, Toronto by
Odysseus4
Advantages: Easy access to the Path and the CN Tower
Disadvantages: Not the cheapest joint in town!
...me, you will not need to eat lunch if you breakfast here.
In the evening the bar area one this floor has hors d'ouvres between 18:00 and 19:00 I think. There is also an honour bar, beers spirits and wines - you simply note what you have and it is added to your bill. I am not absolutely sure but I think coffee might be available throughout the day in this area and I think it is free of charge. But any alcoholic drinks are on the honour system - not free of charge - they have quite large wine glasses though!
This area also has a couple of computer terminals in case you forgot to take your lap top and of course papers though the local paper is delivered to your room in the morning anyway!
PRESIDENT'S CLUB:
Like many hotels chains the Royal York being part of the Fairmont group is a part of the President's club programme...

I stayed in a Royal hotel that must make me queen
Review of Royal National Hotel, London by
gemax2
Advantages: Great location, good value for money & nice food
Disadvantages: Horrible bathrooms
...For my 21st Birthday my boyfriend and I were planning to go to London to get my Birthday present. We decided to drive down which I though would be too long to drive there and back on the same day so we opted to drive down the night before and book into a hotel. So the day before (the night we wanted to stay) I spent 3 hours trawling the Internet looking for somewhere suitable.
It was quite difficult really, as we needed somewhere that wasn't too bad but in a good area close to the tube. At the last minute all the decent hotels were full which left a lot of 2 star hostel type hotels, which had some pretty horrible reviews.
After a painful time I finally came across the Royal National Hotel which seemed half decent well there wasn't reports of rooms being ransacked put it that way.

Disney's Hotel New York meets the big apple
Review of Hotel New York, Disneyland Paris, Paris by
nickjj78
Advantages: Great location and size
Disadvantages: Can be expensive!
...Hotel New York, Disneyland Paris
The Disneyland Paris resort offers a number of hotel lodging options including the Davy Crocket Campsite, two value resorts (Hotel Santa Fe and the Hotel Cheyenne), 2 moderate resorts (Sequoia Lodge and the New Port Bay Club) as well as two premier hotels: the Hotel New York and the Disneyland Resort Hotel.
I have been to Disneyland Paris on several occasions since the resort opened in 1992 and have stayed in 4 of the 6 hotels and my continued favourite for size, service and ease of access has always been the Hotel New York in recent years.
How to book?
There are many ways that you can book a holiday to Disneyland Paris but the most common way from the UK is a package deal that includes accommodation (room), breakfast and park passes for the two Disney theme parks (Magic Kingdom and Disney...

The Hotel Royal Kenz, Tunisia
Review of Royal Kenz Hotel, Port El Kantaoui by
micksheff
Advantages: Very Clean, Good Food
Disadvantages: A Fair Distance From The Main Resort
...The Hotel Royal Kenz in the Resort of Port El Kantaoui in Tunisia was recently my Home for 7 nights between the 2nd and 9th July 2006. The Holiday itself was a last minute booking but the Girl at the Travel Agent's said that She had stayed at this Hotel and that it was superb.
The price for the total package, including Flights and transfers was incredibly cheap at just under £200 Half Board for 7 nights and so the booking was made.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
I had seen a picture of the Hotel in the Brochure so I knew that this was one of the largest Hotels in the Resort with 405 Rooms. I also knew that it had only three Floors and that it was therefore spread out over quite a wide area within its own Grounds.
On arriving in the Resort the first point to note was that the Hotel was quite a distance from the main hub of the Resort...

Bentley Hotel - New York New York!!!!
Review of Bentley Hotel, New York City by
wendybull
Advantages: Clean, nice rooms - amazing views from roof top balcony
Disadvantages: 24 Hour coffee bar was actually a vending machine!!
...My lovely husband booked a short stay in New York for my “surprise” 30th birthday. This was in 2002 and we went there at the beginning of October of that year. Just as a side note before I start the review of the hotel, the weather was fantastic and for much of the time we went out regularly in T-shirts.
Anyway we stayed at The Bentley Hotel for the whole of our stay and overall we were impressed and enjoyed our time there.
**ABOUT THE HOTEL**
The Bentley is a 3 star hotel which was built in 1904 and last renovated in 2002, however I have a feeling some renovation may be going on now as the roof top restaurant has been closed until further notice.
It has 197 rooms in total, which range in quality depending on which sort you book. We had a regular room but found this to be very satisfactory. There was plenty of room from...

The Royal Albion Hotel, Brighton
Review of Royal Albion Hotel, Brighton by
beanie8844
Advantages: great location, cheap, nice rooms, excellent food
Disadvantages: no parking, quite dated
...Introduction to the hotel:
The Royal Albion Hotel was built in 1826 and is situated in a fantastic location opposite Brighton pier. It is a three star hotel and has 186 guest rooms offering views of Brighton beach or the town centre.
My experience of the hotel:
I spent one night in the hotel in January of this year and for a three star hotel I was quite impressed. I and my girlfriend booked a double room for £55 and it was a spacious room with a four poster bed, couch, satellite television, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and a lovely modern bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath. When we checked in the hotel staff asked us if we would like to upgrade to a room with a Jacuzzi batch for £10, we said no, but were a bit intrigued to find one anyways - they had obviously given our room away and were trying to get the extra £10 out...

Fab priced hotel in the thick of New York City!
Review of Best Western President Hotel, New York City by
mummy2harry
Advantages: Cheap, right by Times Square, friendly staff
Disadvantages: Rooms may be too small for some fussy travellers!
...When I was booking a holiday for my partner and I to go to New York, I did a lot of research about hotels, locations, sight-seeing spots etc and then tried to find the best one out of a huge list I made. I didn't want to pay a lot for the hotel because I knew we wouldn't be in it much, and when I saw the Best Western name, I thought it would be a good idea to stick with what I know! So I booked 4 nights in this hotel in December 2005, my second trip to the fantastic NYC.
We easily got a transfer from the airport, and gave the driver the address which I had printed out before we left the UK. We speedily set off into the manic NYC traffic in our little yellow cab, and were there within about 1 hour, not bad considering the traffic! The hotel had a nice frontage, it was all gold, had loads of Christmas lights and little Christmas trees...

Royal Bay Hotel, Elenite, Bulgaria
Review of Royal Bay Hotel, Elenite, Bulgaria by
mayasmist
Advantages: Everything you could need in one resort, friendly staff
Disadvantages: Not a good selection of food If you are a fussy eater.
..., toast or fruit (not the freshest looking fruit i have seen). Evening meal had things like chips, curry, veal, veg, chicken nuggets (not everynight) and tradition Bulgarian Food.
If you stay at the Royal Bay Hotel you can not eat at the Royal Park Hotel Restaurant as you have wristbands that are easily visable to each hotel. But there are at least 3 other restaurants you can eat in. You do have to book these around 10 in the morning for that day.
In the village complex you have an entertainment hall were the staff put on shows most nights, plus you have a room with pool tables and games room. There was an internet room, that was normally busy with the teenagers.
When we booked our holiday we were told that there ws a childrens club that we could use and it was free with first choice!!!! This is true to some degree, The HOTEL...
