Saitek X52 Pro Flight Control System
Review of Saitek X52 Pro Flight Control System - joystick, throttle by
ardleyf
Advantages: Sense Of Proffesionalism, Very Smooth, Great Grip and Control
Disadvantages: Not Very Portable, As State Of The Art it comes at a high price
...The Saitek X52 Pro Flight Control System is state of the art in flight control systems. As a frequent user of flight simulator the saitek X52 has made my flying even more enjoyable with the control smoothness and joystick re-centereing. In total the amount of different switches is 30, however as there are three mode settings you can have up to 90 button configurations. Installation is quick and simple, and runs as soon as connected via USB. In total with both the throttle and joystick there are 7 axis instead of the usual 3/4 on older joysticks. The metal material on both the throttle and joystick gives a sense of proffesionalism and the rubberised surface on the throttle and joystick handle give a good firm grip. I would recommend this to anyone who has a serious interest in flight simulation both civil and combat. Even though it...

Grab it firmly by the shaft and waggle frantically
Review of Saitek Cyborg 3D Gold - joystick by
kitt
Advantages: Loads odf buttons.. Really strong
Disadvantages: Bit plasticy looking
...The Saitek 3d Digital kicks butt. I work out and yet I haven't managed to snap this plastic device yet. Reading through a few reviews there is the odd suggestion these joysticks are weak. I haven't found that to be true at all. The are perfectly designed for flight sims and driving games. I haven't found a game that doesn't support the Saitek in one way or another. It is great. It has 4 buttons at the front and two on each side.. God dammit I feel like a presenter from QVC... It's a Joystick, it is good, If you want a good joystick them buy it NOW!...

A stick of Joy
Review of Saitek Cyborg 3D Gold - joystick by
NickyC
Advantages: A brillaint joystick, very compatable
Disadvantages: If you loes the CD, then you're in deep ****
...The Cybord 3D digital joystick is by far Saitek's best yet. It is designed and very compatable with flight simulators, i have used it with Air Attack and Falcon 4.0 to name just two, and i have had nothing but joy from it.
It has thirteen buttons, all of which you can configure yourself and calibrate the joystick however you want it.
This is the only joystick i have owned that has a facility for both rundder and throttle. The stick twists form side to side, this acts as the rudder.
If you are going to buy this product then i warn you, don not loes the CD that comes with it, because it is very hard, if not impossible to install and configure the joystick without it!...

Portable, stylish and easy-to-use
Review of Saitek ST90 joystick by
liamsingh
Advantages: Plug-and-Play, Folding legs
Disadvantages: None found!
...The Saitek ST90 Joystick has many great features to offer. The first and foremost for me is portability. It's quite lightweight, and the legs fold up so that it can be stored or carried really easily. Even with this, it is still very stable when in use. There are three buttons, two on the front and a trigger. This makes it easy to use in any game situation, be it fighting the enemy in a flight simulator or braking for corners on a motorbike game. Two of my main uses for it. The joystick also has a digital throttle, which makes speeding up and slowing down really easy. It also has four LEDs that show the throttle level, making it easy too see the speed you are putting in to the computer. The feet of the joystick are padded, which gives a little extra grip when in use.....

Nice looking but it's unreliable
Review of Saitek X36 Flight Controller - joystick, throttle by
paranpipa
Advantages: Looks nice
Disadvantages: unreliable, dosent support Windows 2000, breaks easily
...This is a great looking joystick. In fact it was used in the 1999 movie Solider. The joystick functions well under Windows 98 or ME. Even though saitek insists that the joystick works under Windows 2000 the joystick has problems and causes the computer to freeze up. So if you are running Windows 2000 do not go with this joystick. The X36f comes with software from saitek that allows you to set profiles for all your games. Meaning that you preset the buttons in the software and then the joystick remembers it when you are playing the game. Now, this would be great but it doesn’t work. Well, it works but it is not reliable. It doesn’t work on win2k and has many problems under Win 98 and me. Also the throttle control that comes with the joystick breaks easily. I had to replace mine. If you use the joystick for a while it loosens...

Fantastic value stick
Review of Saitek Cyborg 3D Gold - joystick by
Cuffs
Advantages: Feels great to use on most games and loads of programmable buttons
Disadvantages: Not great for racing games due to the fairly stiff return spring
...After looking at a number of joysticks on the market I chose the Saitek 3D Digital after a recommendation from a friend. What a star buy it was which was made even better by the fact that Dixons had priced it at £19.99 rather than £29.99 or even £39.99 as I have seen it sold for.
The stick itself looks fantastic and feels great when playing most games. The only games that I find it difficult to use on are racing games. This is due to the fairly stiff return spring in it.
The software that comes with the unit is easy to set up although it isn't the easiest in the world to use. This however doesn't matter too much as Saitek supply settings to use the 8 programmable buttons, throttle and hat switch for many games on the CD. I also believe that you can download new ones from their web site.
When I was having problems setting the unit...

One great joystick
Review of Saitek Cyborg Evo joystick by
TALBONE
Advantages: price,USB Connector,solid,game profiles,right handed and left
Disadvantages: clashes with my belkin N50 , big thumb screws
...Hi I just had to add my two pennys on this because have you ever played a flight simulator and wished that the joystick you were using was more comfortable? Are you left handed? Are your hands larger than average, perhaps? This maybe a solution for you. The Saitek Cyborg Evo joystick.I think that this joystick is the most customizable joystick. Saitek has been known as a company that makes nice products, at good prices. The Cyborg Evo features 4 axis control, 8-way hat switch, trigger, 5 stick buttons, 6 base buttons and a throttle lever. The joystick is fully programmable using the included Saitek Software. It's Windows 98, SE, Millenium, 2000, & XP compatible and all that over an USB Connector. But the best thing about the Cyborg evo is the many ways you can adjust the joystick with some chunky metal thumb screws so you can use...

Good Vibrations
Review of Saitek ST330 Rumble Force by
Bigbaz
Advantages: Cheap and the cat likes it
Disadvantages: Causes white knuckle
...website where there is a beta set of drivers available for download for Windows XP. The website URL is www.saitek.com On installing these drivers, Windows XP hands out dire warnings, suggesting that they could cause XP to become unstable and corrupted if installed. They didn’t and anyway I doubt very much if I would have noticed the difference.
The joystick is a 3 button, 1 trigger joystick with a detachable throttle, which can be positioned either side of the joystick to suit left or right-handed gamers. The throttle itself is one of the sticks best features as it is super smooth and very responsive to use. The buttons can be programmed for whatever use you have for them, such as undercarriage or flaps.
As a stick bought for flight Sims, it doesn’t acquit itself very well. G forces caused by the movement of the aircraft and explosions...

The Saitek X36F
Review of Saitek X36 Flight Controller - joystick, throttle by
Claxon
Advantages: Easy to reach buttons, Fully programmable, Looks great
Disadvantages: Remembering what you programmed each button to do
...The Saitek X36F Flight control stick is a beast of a Joystick. It has 3 push buttons, a missile launch button (with safety catch), a trigger button, 2 eight direction HAT controllers and a "Pinkie" switch. all of these buttons are in easy to reach locations so it is easy to use in the heat of battle.
With the use of the programming software, you can change the function of all of the butons and HAT switches and can choose what mode to have the "pinkie" switch set to. The Pinkie switch is simply a sliding triggar that is operated by your little finger and it can function as an ordinary button (good for afterburners) or as a Shift button, which will allow you to program 2 commands for each button. One for normal usage and one for Shifted usage.
The Flightstick itself does not have a small throttle wheel built in like most other modern...

A high end Joystick
Review of Saitek X45 Flight Control System - joystick by
J.Gamgee
Advantages: Large Base, Good instructions, Easy to use, Durable
Disadvantages: Bases may be too large for some desks, Expensive, May be too large for some hands
...Until recently I have been using the Saitek cyborg 3d digital stick. I was impressed by this stick which is why when that one wore out that i decided to buy saitek again. This is currently the top of the range flight stick made by saitek - replacing the X45 permutations previously on offer.
At first look there are an overwhelming number of buttons on the two part controller. However they are easy to use bacause they have been well spaced and well positions. The two trigger controls are useful in games with more than one sort of weapon. The triggers are sturdy and are not slack - meaning that you cannot mispress them easily. The stick is easy to hold thanks to its ergonomic design, especially in the case of the throttle control. Though those with smaller fingers may find it difficult to reach the rudder controls which are located...
