Sea and Sea!
Review of Sea & Sea Seamaster Pro-EX by
ElyshaF
Advantages: Amazing pictures
Disadvantages: Heavy when above water
...I visited Australia as my brother lives over there a few years ago and he was lucky enough to book me a place to go scuba diving.
I have always had such a desire to go and see the Coral Reef and all the life forms that you can't even imagine unless you have seen pictures in magazings.
You couldn't believe my excitement when I was actually told that I was able to do this!
I do not own this camera but was given the loan of it for my adventures to the bottom of the sea. As all of you will most likely know, you can't just take an ordinary camera on a journey like the one I was about to experience and with some of the cheap cameras around, you cannot always guarantee quality pictures.
The features of this camera included:
Built-in 35mm amphibious lens
Unique built-in close-up lens that focuses down to 18 inches
Automatic film load...

Omega seamaster professional automatic wristwatch
Review of Omega Seamaster Professional by
chrisupton
Advantages: Luxury, quality, feel, design, status, - too many others to mention
Disadvantages: the bezel is a bit hard to grip bit thats it !
...in the middle of the watch case around a matching velour pillow.
THE WATCH CASING..........
The Case diameter of the seamaster is of 41mm, 45mm to the end of the crown, the thickness is 10mm, 47mm from lug to lug and weighs 150 grams (this varies between models). The lugs are slightly polished stainless steel and so are the crown guards, the rest of the case is brushed stainless steel. The omega symbol raised emboss crown sits deep into the case of a double screw lockdown type winder, but is easily accessed and is of good size. The omega symbol raised emboss helium release valve is located at the 10 o'clock position of the case and just looks like another winder. The case back is again stainless steel, with the traditional seamaster sea-horse raised in the metal with the Seamaster wave pattern raised around the rest of the case, There is no text...

It's a camera. It goes underwater
Review of Sea & Sea Motormarine II by
ESpy
Advantages: Cheaper than throwaways - and it goes deeper
Disadvantages: Rangefinding! Needs a strobe
...The Sea & Sea Motormarine II EX (also known as the Seamaster Pro) is a fairly simple underwater rangefinder camera.
It is depth rated to 45m, has a maximum shutter speed of 1/125 and uses 35mm film (DX coded). It has a built in flash - which I have to say is of no use underwater (the flash is so close to the axis of the lens that it illuminates any suspended debris in the water, causing a snowstorm look...). However, it is useful on land & around pools (the ultimate party-proof camera?).
I bought mine about 6 months ago to take to the Carribean for some snorkelling & diving, and found it excellent. The quality of some of the shots really astonished me - as a novice user, I didn't expect to get anything like the number of good shots (IMO) that I did. Trying to judge distances underwater is tricky at best, so I tended to work...

The Dead Sea and me
Review of Dead Sea (Israel) by
buzzard_cad
Advantages: An unusual experience, good for the skin
Disadvantages: A long walk, the salty water may sting after a while
...~Summary~
The Dead Sea, this was the main reason for my trip to Israel. The healing properties of the waters may be overstated, but you can't go to Israel and not experience mudpacks and swimming in the salty water. The resorts are well equipped with showers, lockers, toilets, restaurant and products to take back home. The actual Dead Sea waters are receding so it is a long walk to the water edge, but there is a land train if you have trouble walking far. The waters are a bit stingy on the skin so I would advise caution if you have sensitive skin.
~Introduction~
The Dead Sea is in Israel and is shared with Jordan. The Dead Sea is renowned for its revitalising properties and products from the Dead Sea area include mud masks, bath salts and other bathing items. The Dead Sea is also below sea level in a valley and has very high salt...

Standing
Review of Poetry by
panther_hafsa
Advantages: N/A
Disadvantages: N/A
...this is the first poem i ever did and i wanted to share it and see if others could relate to what i was trying to say.
Standing and staring at the deep blue sea,
Thinking how clear it is to see
Closing her eyes she try’s
To look into her heart
To see her own blue sea
Seeing it within she sees how deep and dark, it flows
Standing and staring at her own hearts sea
Seeing the pain and misery
Hoping that one day it will flow clear as the deep blue sea.
i would love to hear peoples thoughts on this and if you could relate to what it was that i was thinking at the time i wrote it. I did actually write this standing by the sea in Blackpool....

The Roman Theatre
Review of Paphos (Cyprus) by
lalr
Advantages: Don't miss it.
Disadvantages: None
...Near Paphos, I also visited the Ancient Roman theater. It is similar to the one in Verona (Italy) but this one is smaller. The beauty about this structure is that it is built in a semi circle manner with a small platform or flat area in the centre of the semi circle, where you can stand and speak and everyone will be able to hear you. It is un believable. This structure sits high on the hill side over looking a flat plane of land with the sea clearly visible not too far away. It is a beautiful setting, especially if you are with someone who likes a similar atmosphere. After visiting this ancient site, i went down the plains to the sea. The sea in this region of Cyprus faces the African continent and is rough. It is not advisable to go swimming in these parts but sitting by the sea with the strong sea-breeze splashing salt water on you...

All Pools should be like this on holiday
Review of Dead Sea (Israel) by
richardjmeek
Advantages: Sitt and chill out
Disadvantages: Dont get water in your eyes it hurts
...I visited the dead sea about 10 years ago now and still remember it very well. We visited for an afternoon on a trip from Jerusalem. The drive was breathtaking through the desert and beduin camps, and down to the dead sea. The temperature was scorching hot between 35-40c and quite humid near the sea. It ws amazing to get in and sit in the sea and fload without worrying about swimming, all pools on holiday should be like this. I sat and read the paper just for a clasic photo. Claims are also made about the mud of the dead sea containing healling properties well i believe as our mud fight cured my heat rash. Only thing is dead sea is on isralels border and you have to put up with guard towers and the odd soldier. I recomend anyone go to israel but maybe hold off for a few years until it settles down. Well worth the wait...

Bond Goes Vanquishing
Review of Die Another Day (Special Edition) by
psrose78
Advantages: good story, good action, nice women, its Bond
Disadvantages: not everybody likes Bond
...of Connery, Moore, Dalton, and Lazenby, mix well, leave to simmer for a bit, and you have Brosnan. In this film, he leaves some of the wisecracks behind (not all of them though) and introduces a more steely side to Bond.
As Jinx, Halle Berry created most of the pre-release headlines, especially with the sea emergence scene. Although I thoroughly enjoyed that scene (as did just about every male in the audience - plus some females if I wasn't much mistaken) she had far more to offer in her role. She was convincing as an agent, and her only initially noticeable downfall was the out-of-character 'go girlfriend' smart remarks.
Toby Stephens is excellent as the pompous villain, managing to pull off self-obsessed, without the seemingly obligatory psychotic demeanour that accompanies most film baddies. He certainly seems to revel in the role, even...

Better than a goldfish any day!
Review of Benjamin Toys Sea Monkeys by
Thehonesttruth
Advantages: -

...What are Sea Monkeys
**************************
Sea Monkeys are weird little beasts. They are a hybrid variety of brine shrimp (Their correct Latin name is ''Artemia nyos''"after the New York Ocean Science Laboratories where the hybrid Sea-Monkeys were developed.")
Brine Shrimp for many years were harvested either live or as eggs to be sold in pet shops as fish food. After some cross breeding, Sea Monkeys, a variety of brine shrimp specially bred to live longer and be bigger than other varieties, were created.
Sea Monkeys appeal has always been in their unusual life cycle .By a rare process called ''Cryptobiosis'' (meaning hidden life') they are able to exist in latent suspended animation inside their miniscule eggs for indefinite amounts of time.
Starting a Tank

When you buy a sea monkey kit, there are three...

Ocean Village
Review of Southampton in General by
Autumn-Swallow
Advantages: Sea Breeze
Disadvantages: non
...Southampton is not a very interesting place, to be honest. It is not much of a city life, and not a country side. So, it doesn't have the best of both sides.
However, there is a quite interesting place called Ocean Village. It is not very big, but, there are a few pubs and a club and a couple of good restaurants. Because it is by the sea, so, I like to have dinner there especially in the summer. I enjoy the sea breeze, a pint of cooling beer, and a nice meal at a fairly reasonble price....
