Ford Fiesta Si 1.6 16v
Review of Ford Fiesta 1.6 Si by
bagsy
Advantages: Nippy, Great looks, Reliable, Fantastic handling and Ford's best interior. Ultimate hot hatch!
Disadvantages: Can rust, similar to any Fiesta really.
...into a corner, you can feel exactly how the car will respond, as you are cornering, and you can feel if and when you're going to lose it, but from my experience it's proven to be extremely forgiving! The 1.6 litre 16v zetec happily purrs underneath the bonnet quite happily minding it's own business when driving sensibly, but if you plant your right foot, the melody can be heard for miles, and the sound is nothing less of the finest music - it has a real throaty roar, and you can constantly feel the torquey engine pulling and pulling. Most of the power is in the high rev range being 16 valve, and it will happily rev up to 6,500rpm in every gear. It was always much quicker than the figures on paper for the 1.6 16v - it's performance far exceeds the recorded 0-60 times and top speeds - on my Si that was 13 years old I recorded a clean 8.5 second 0...

The Hyundai Amica, Practicality as Standard!!!!!
Review of Hyundai Amica 1.0Si by
ChrisBT
Advantages: Practicality, perfect for the school run!!
Disadvantages: Noise, comfort!!
...The Hyundai Amica 1.0Si
My parents love Hyundai cars mainly because they are practical and cheap. My family has previously purchased;
The Hyundai Lantra 1.6 Gls,
The Hyndai Amica 1.0Si and,
The Hyndai Matrix 1.6Gsi
The Amica, practicality as standard!!
Engine?
An Averaged priced amica will set you back £5,990- £6,600, a cheap car but worth it. The Amica comes with a standard 1.0 litre petrol engine which can take the Amica 15 seconds to get to 60 mph. The stats don't look very good on paper but practiality is this cars weapon; my dad is not a 'slow' driver, he liks to push cars to their limit, (on the way to Colhester via the A12 he drove the Lanta so hard the engine fell out of the bottom of the car.) I have not kown this car to fail in anyway, break down or not start (although we once recieve a tire puncture ; -). The engine...

416 GTI what a nice car
Review of Rover 416 Si by
sarah14
Advantages: Comfortable, fun to drive
Disadvantages: Lack of space for a family
...I purchused my Rover 416 Gti back in 1997, at the time it was 7 years old, but it only had 18,000 miles on the clock, I payed £5000 for the car, and it had all the extras, Leather interior, electric windows and sunroof etc.
The car drives brilliantly, and is very comfortable, this is my first rover and I really love driving it,but unfortunalty it is now time to say goodbye, since buying the car I have had a family, and it's a bit pushed for boot space, also it is quite costly to run as it does around 32 to the gallon, and insurance is a group 14 costing around £500 for me to insure it fully comp.
This car isn't really suitable for a family due to lack of space in the boot, and leather seats can be a bit of the pain, in the summer they can burn your bum and in winter they are stone cold, but it's a great car for a couple or single...

A board that impressed an experienced PC builder
Review of ASUS SiS Chipset A7S-VM - motherboard - micro ATX - SiS730S by
Punty
Advantages: Cheap but powerful and feature packed.
Disadvantages: er... its not free?
...At the begining of September I was given the challenge of building a good PC for my girlfriend by her mum. The catch? I had to keep the price around (or below for preference) £500.
So as I usually do, I set off to research what £500 could get me at the big high street retailers like Dixons, PC World, etc.
The answer? Not much, not much at all. Several actually advertised their £800+ PC systems as "budget". Now maybe its the student part of me but £800 is definatly not budget by any means, so I choose to build it myself.
My first choice of parts just made the £500 limit but I was missing the Operating System and some software so I had to cut corners.
It was at this stage that I discovered the ASUS A7S-VM. The board comes with onboard sound, 3D AGP graphics and networking and costs only £80.
This was a significant saving on buying...

A stalwart little friend
Review of Fujitsu Siemens SCENIC xSi - PIII 600 MHz by
Manx
Advantages: Lightweight, robust, goodprice.
Disadvantages: None noticed yet.
...I am well aware that at the speed computer science and releases zoom along at that a review of my Scenic 500 runs the risk of being a little out of date. However, this is the machine I use at work. I imagine there is every chance it is just the sort of personal computer which will turn up in offices for a good few years to come - even if it is just a case of these once new machines being filtered down through the staff as the bosses (and IT staff) get newer and better ones.
I have no grumbles at all with my Scenic 500. As the name suggests it chugs happily along at 500 Mhz and has 128MB to play with - which, for it’s day - was awesome. I put my machine through a lot; taking the back off and trying to squeeze in cards and anything else I might find in the darkest shadows in the hardware cupboard and this computer has never even bent...

Rover 214 Si 16 valve
Review of Rover 214 Si by
sandyedin
Advantages: quality, power to insurance group ratio
Disadvantages: bit of an old man image
...I will have owned my 1998 Rover 214 Si for three weeks on Monday, and so far i have been loving it.
I came accross it while trawling around second hand car garages looking for a 1.4 Ford Escort Osprey to replace my Fiesta Sapphire, which as it happens required a new engine.
The brooklands green paint linked with a beige paisley patterned interior was a nice combination, if a little old manny. The curvy, rounded lines looked tidy, with the chrome grill and trim strips being nice details. Throw in the standard smoked rear light lenses, the discrete rear spoiler and deep front air scoop under the number plate and you've got a smart and sophisticated wee car.
Standard equipment on the 200 is not bad, power steering, height adjustable steering wheel, drivers airbag, engine immobiliser, 60/40 split fold rear seats, tinted windows...

You WILL lose days playing this game!
Review of Championship Manager 03/04 (PC) by
unnameable
Advantages: Hugely playable, enjoyable, and engrossing
Disadvantages: a little addictive at times!
....
*Updated Player, Team, and Competition Data.
MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
PC:
Windows 98/ME/XP/2000
Pentium 4 1.2 GHz
256 MB RAM
600 MB Hard Disk space
1024x768 Screen Resolution
In practise these are generally recommended system requirements. The game works fine on my 700 MHz Celeron with 256 MB RAM!
Mac:
Mac OS 9.2.2 / Mac OS 10.2 or later
PowerPC G4/G5 500 MHz
256 MB RAM
500 MB Hard Disk Space
1024x768 Screen Resolution
COST
Available through almost every games outlet for around £29.99, although you can get it from Amazon.co.uk for an amazing £17.99.
MY THOUGHTS
As I said already, this game works fine on my lowly 700 MHz Celeron. It actually seems to run quite a bit faster than CM4 did, so a big pat on the back for those poor workaholics at SI Games.
The game is not graphically stunning (none of them have been), but a game...

BMW 'S LOSS
Review of Rover 420 Si by
Algenon
Advantages: Cheap 2nd hand, reliable reputation, spares no problem.
Disadvantages: New owner so company longeavity is uncertain.
..., and the front wheel drive is easier to throw around than rear wheel. The transmission is smooth and positive.
This car was a steal at £4,500 from the private sector for a P reg. I would have paid £6,000 through a dealership. If you are looking for a bargain and don't mind 5 doors as opposed to 3 then look for on of these gems.
The partnership with Honda, before BMW is evident. The design is stylish but looks sedate the performance isn't. Motorway driving is a dream, and town traffic is frustrating you just want to put your foot down....

S.I Prove They are kings of the Genre!
Review of Football Manager 2005 (PC) by
Adono86
Advantages: The Best Out There!!!
Disadvantages: Editor Takes 2 Long!
...decisions whilst these calculations are being done; it saves time and allows for more gaming time. The game also boasts that it has an unequalled depth and choice within its data. When you can work with over 250,000 players and staff worldwide it’s nothing compared to its closest rival will have. This game has been in the making for a year. 2,500 researches worldwide have ensured total accuracy up to the 2004-2005 season transfer deadline (1st September 2004) So Sean Gregan of Leeds United is in the squad but David Healy and Gylfi Einarsson of Leeds United are still at their old clubs respectively as there transfers went through after the deadline.
Never mind you can change anything you wish with the new Data Editor… providing you’re willing to wait a couple of hours for it to load. SI’s new Data Editor is a very powerful tool and to get full...

HP laserjet 5si
Review of HP LaserJet 5si by
andrew6150
Advantages: fast and very economical
Disadvantages: limit of drivers no colour
...Here we have one of hewlett packards printers named laserjet 5si. Very good printer its economical for both business use and single use. the good thing about this printer is that you can print and keep printing and the ink would last you for about 2 years.
One only problem that i found with this printer is that when you connect it to windows xp it would keep coming up with letter instead of A4 which in these days most people use A4. This problem was then solved by going into the printer menu in XP and changing the setting.
Apart from that an excellant printer for your money and you will be surprised when you see this printer start working very well built for business use and home use....
