yummy
Review of Athens in general by
pelasnet
Advantages: excellent cousine
Disadvantages: not suited for vegetarians
...Greek food is simply delicious. So if anyone has the chance to get to Greece you better experience some of the delights offered at their restaurants. My recommended ones are Giros, Pasticio and Souvlaki (check the spelling!). Being one of the cheapest countries of the EU, dinning out is a treat that will not affect heavily the pockets of most tourists. I have eaten a massive sea-food dinner for 4 for a mere £25 (impossible to get those prices in the UK!). The are plenty of restaurants in the city, but if anyone is around the suburb of Kifisia, the go to the "Kifisias Grill Restaurant" is Kifisias Avenue. Excellent terraced restaurant with absolutely delicisious food....

Cheap food
Review of McDonalds [TV Advertisement] by
robertliu84
Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Crowded
...Food here is very cheap compared to Burger King. There is also a good range of products, and the fries are very tasty. The burgers come in all sorts as you would expect and the food comes in nice packaging though some environmentalists may not like it. The coke sometimes tastes a bit funny, but I do prefer McDOnalds to Burger King, simply because since the opening of McDonalds in cambridge, Burger King has had to raise their prices by almost double to stay alive.
Mcdonalds do best deals and service is quite good and quick. It is quite busy though and often overcrowded with nowhere to sit. Queing sometimes takes quite a while too.
Their adverts have Alan Shearer in it. I don't know why a healthy footballer is eating at fast food restaurants!!...

Butcher's Natural Nutrition dog food
Review of Butchers Tripe by
brittle1906
Advantages: A good meaty food for all dogs, good value for money.
Disadvantages: Pongs a bit!
...I bought my dog, a adult male border collie cross, a pack of six Butcher's Natural Nutrition canned dog food, simply because it was on 'Roll Back' special offer in my local Asda. I paid £2 for the six 400g cans. The manufacturer's statement on the packaging states that they have over 25 years of experience in animal foods and have in conjunction with leading nutritionalists, produced this food suitable for all sizes, breeds and ages of dogs.
The flavours sounded more like human recipes, Chicken, ham and pea casserole, Beef and vegetable stew and Lamb stew with a hint of Mint!
What dog could resist that? The product is an all meat chunks in gravy type food, made with fresh meat. The ingredients are not bulked out with cereals or soya and the food has a high meat content. The food is enhanced with vitamins and minerals, has...

Dried food sounds too good to be true and is
Review of Iams by
shoprite
Advantages: It doesn't make the kitchen smell and that's about it
Disadvantages: expensive, old cat won't eat it,not available everywhere
...This is the sort of food a person without any experience of cats would think up. It is dried and has no smell, which is great for the owner, but not so great for the cat, young or old, that mainly rely on their sense of smell to decide on which food is good to eat. I'll bet you've seen your cat refuse to eat day old food, this is because, although it looks the same, it no longer smells fresh.
Iams, though nutritionally sound, lacks any interest for the hungry cat.
My poor cat is 17yrs old and has very few teeth. The vet recommended trying Iams for a while to reduce the tartar on her remaining teeth. She found the food so hard, it was impossible for her to feed even when she had decided through hunger to give it a try.
I can see the reasons people will try this food and perhaps you'll be OK, but with an old or picky cat, I simply couldn...

Recommended to Advanced Japanese food lover.
Review of Asakusa, London by
TangyAtom
Advantages: Good Value
Disadvantages: Can't think of.
...My Favorite place, and I am Japanese. Enough said, right? :-)
Price is reasonable, food good especially deep fry kinds (tempura, Agedashi Dofu etc) and stuff on the board. You might find staff are sometimes less smiley and uptight, but simply look at them how much of work that they are handling at the same time. It's bit of Japanese mentality as we value the efficiency more than anything, having said that, never rude or anything like that, which you do find at some of the arrogant restaurant.
Very traditional style, means more you go and more your face get familiar, your joy at this restaurant triples. Never judge and leave snooty restaurant critics style comment by simply going there once and spend an hours. Just think why it's always so busy and fully booked....

You can get good food thats not pricey
Review of Pets at Home Cat Food by
doodah01
Advantages: Cheap & nutritious,
Disadvantages: only available from pets at Home
..."Specifically formulated to meet the needs of a growing kitten, it’s packed full of fresh meat, vitamins and minerals. It’s free from artificial colourings, preservatives and wheat gluten. Put simply, it really will give your kitten the best start in life."
I had decided that I wanted to feed my kittens a complete dry food as early as possible. All the literature states that the dry foods are better for cats teeth, and often has better nutrtion.
However I was astonished at the wide range of foods available and some of the prices were incredible.
There is less choice of flavours for kittens, but in my experince they don't seem to mind.
I chose the pets at home version, only because it seemed to be the cheapest cat food of its type. It comes in 2 kg bags that cost just 6.99. On average they last me 3-4 weeks (2 kittens...

Spot on food and snazzy surrounding...
Review of Purple Sage, London by
SmileyBen
Advantages: Spot on food, great wine.
Disadvantages: Quite expensive, considering it's pizza
...Most people will be somewhat shocked at the prices at Purple Sage - not because it's vastly expensive, but simply because it's really quite expensive for *pizza*. However, if you try this place you'll probably realise it's not actually overpriced, because this isn't junk food pizza or the sort of cardboard you get at Pizza Hut, this is real food, with imaginative toppings, cooked spot on. It is hard to realise that Pizza can be cooked well, but this place shows it, as the texture and taste of the whole dish is brought out.
Add to this a wide range of other Italian dishes (and if you're out to impress you can avoid pizza altogether, happily) and you get a really nice night out. And there's some great wine as well!...

Heat sensitive Tommee Tippee Soft Tipped Spoons
Review of Tommee Tippee Soft Tipped Spoons by
tiggerkid
Advantages: Convenient to start weaning
Disadvantages: Inaccurate indication of food temperature
...Overall, Heat sensitive Tommee Tippee spoons are a great product to start weaning your baby with. They are fairly shallow, so the amount of food you put in your baby's mouth is just right. They certainly indicate when the food is too hot by changing colour. However, most of the time these spoons also change colour even when food is just simply very warm but not hot. So, at times if you rely on the spoon alone, you end up feeding your baby fairly cold food. Another thing is that when your baby attempts to feed him/herself, I don't thing this spoon is entirely safe to give to your baby. The handle is too long and the baby doesn't know how deep the spoon should go into his/her mouth and the tip of the handle is quite pointy. So, once your baby attempts to feed him/herself, I'd advice some other spoon.
All in all, however, I'd say it...

This is a must
Review of Siam Orchid by
lindylou
Advantages: good food
Disadvantages: decor
...There are few restaurants I would wish to recommend in Manchester and for a large city I find that somewhat surprising. The trouble is so many these days are part of a lage chain and are little better than fast food chains. Of the smaller more private eating places where food is considered an art form and something to be enjoyed at leisure simply, where are they?
The Siam Orchid is an exception for me. It is quite small for a City restaurant but even so you will not feel hurried if you want to regard your eating as your night out. The food is always piping hot and cooked in the most delicious of sauces. The staff are pleasant and attentitive but will also leave you alone if you want to enjoy an intimate moment or two. The decor etc is not a lot to write home about but I forgive this becuase they seem to regard the food as their raison d...

George Foreman GR10005
Review of George Foreman GR10005 by
Mattletcher
Advantages: easy to use, easy to clean, cooks almost anything
Disadvantages: would be better if it had a timer, but still easy to operate
...Ideal for anyone who doesn\'t like greasy, oil drenched food! Any items in the George Foreman range of 'mean, lean, grilling machines' significantly reduce the amount of fat that you end up attempting to digest.
Once turned on, it automatically heats up to an ideal cooking temperature and the red light automatically turns off. All you have to do is simply place one of the two drip trays underneath the grill, put the food inside, and wait a short time for it to be grilled to a very high standard, even the thickest Cumberland sausages will be cooked with ease in less than 10 minutes. One downside is that it does not have a timer so you will have to keep an eye on the food you are cooking. If at any time the temperature drops below the ideal temperature, the light comes back on and gives it a boost to quickly get back to an ideal...
