Advantages: Educational, fun
Disadvantages: can be boring if you are grown up
...Snakes and ladders,
Played this game at school today so though I would write an opp. I seem to remember my grandmother having a set for us children to play when we visited
Snakes and ladders.
The game of snakes and ladders is a simple board game with counters and a dice. The board has numbered squares ladders are drawn on leading from a numbered square to a square of a higher number. It also has snakes leading from a high numbered square down to one of a lower number.
The game is be played by two or more people as a race to see who can get to the top/end first to win.
Each person takes a turn to throw the dice and then moves a counter the number of squares on the dice and if they land on a ladder they go up or if landing on a snake the counter goes down.
Some people play it so that if you throw a six you can throw...

Snakes and Ladders
Review of Snakes and Ladders by
ilusvm
Advantages: educational, fun for children, available at reasonable prices, easy to play
Disadvantages: not so fun for adults!
...~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Snakes and Ladders
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Snakes and ladders is a very simple board game that has been around for years. The aim of the game is to get to the 'end' first. The game is based on the roll of a dice and therefore is purely down to luck.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How To Play
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The board consists of rows of 10X10 numbered squares. There are pictures of snakes and pictures of ladders which connect one square to another. The players take turns in throwing the dice and move their counter along the number of squares that the dice states. If a player lands on a square where the bottom of a ladder starts, they get to move up to the square where the top of the ladder ends. If they land on the head of a snake then they have to go down the snake to the square where its...
How Snakes and ladders was invented perhaps
Review of Snakes and Ladders by
Simoncook1
Advantages: Helps children to learn to count
Disadvantages: No skill involved so lacks long lasting appeal
...to traverse upwards to the next level. The next level is exactly the same, but the direction he can move is reversed.
Every so often Horrison notices a couple of trees with interlinking branches – they almost look like ladders – whipping out his wicked whip he is often able to climb up these trees and thus move up several levels in one go.
As Horrison contemplates his progress he suddenly stumbles across a horrifying thing. Horrison, as you are all aware, has a mortal fear of snakes. Imagine his surprise and fear when he spies a gigantic snake, just as big as the tree ladders. As he attempts to sneak around the snake, the snake looks at him and gives him a look that says “You’ve got to be joking Horrison” – before you can say “arrrggggghhhhhh” the snake knocks Horrison onto his tale and what...
snakes and ladders
Review of Snakes & Ladders by
Nuttytart_2kuk
Advantages: cheap to buy, fun
Disadvantages: can get boring
...Snakes and ladders, the two objects don't really go together do they so why create a game involving them?
I first played this game when i was about 8 years old. its fairly simple game to learn how to play and is suitable for all ages.
The idea of the game is some what simple. There is a board consisting of 100 squares, set out in rows and columns of 10. The idea of the game is to get from one to 100, using the dice. However there are certain obstacle to overcome such as the snakes. These are all different lengths. If you land on one of these you have to slide down the tale of the snake to that square. Ladders are also on the board, However these you climb up the board.
You throw the dice moving up the board with the number you achieved. If you gain a six, you roll again.
The game was first invented, so i heard to teach children...
Snakes and Ladders
Review of Snakes & Ladders by
thebotkin
Advantages: it is easy to set out and to understand.
Disadvantages: you cannot have more than 3 players.
...The first time i played this was when i was about 7 (i'm now 8.) to play this game you need two counters and a dice. The board consists of a 100 squares with columns and rows of 10 squares. The game is not complexed at all. The idea is to move along the board however many numbers your dice says if you get a 6 you get another go, it is quite a straight-forwward game if you avoid the snakes and ladders but if you land on one they will be an obsticle for you. If you are on the square of a snake you move down until you get to the end of the snake, whereas if you find a ladder you will move up until you get to the end of the ladder. It is a boardgame. The ages are from about 7 till 100. There are 2-3 players.There is not much point in having strategys or plans as the game is mostly fluke and luck and a bit of skill and strategy. I hope i have...
3D Fun And Games
Review of 3D Snakes and Ladders - Boardgame by
purebitch
Advantages: Great Gameplay, Fun for all the family, Colourful.
Disadvantages: You have to build it!
...Everybody at some point in their lives must have played Snakes and Ladders. I personally loved this game when I was a kid. We all know that you go up the ladders and down the snakes. What would you say if I told you that now you can actually go Up the ladders and Down the snakes?
This classic board game has been converted into a 3D version, by the company Peri Spiele. No longer does the game consist of one board that lies flat. It can now be built up, into a six tier board game. This means that although the rules and gameplay are the same, it adds a whole new lease of life.
I spotted this game in Toys R Us in Scunthorpe, when I was Christmas shopping for the kids. This is the only place I have seen this game available. It caught my eye immediately and I knew the kids would love it, so I bought it. I always try to buy things...
Learn how to be a good little boy
Review of Snakes & Ladders by
peppermint
Advantages: dead easy to learn and lots of fun
Disadvantages: much harder to bash children with lots of moral overtones in the modern versions!
...Don't steal, don't lie, don't be lazy! Now play that game of Snakes and Ladders and learn how to be a good child for mummy and daddy! So was the intention behind Snakes and Ladders, as a Victorian game to develop good morals in young children.
Snakes and Ladders was one of my favourite games as a child, and is still popular today. It's a simple game which children can pick up very easily, and seem to be drawn towards.
Basically, you have a board of 100 squares, in a 10 by 10 formation. Each square is numbered in order from one to 100. The board features an equal number (usually) of snakes and ladders of different lengths, each one joining two different squares together.
You take turns to play, starting with your counter on zero. On the roll of one die, you move the required number, getting anotehr go each time you roll a 6...
MGS SNAKE EATER
Review of Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater (PS2) by
Roguey-117
Advantages: Great graphics, excellent story, easy to play, long lasting
Disadvantages: can be repetative when replayed for the extra features / items
...in the wind make the graphics on the game one of the best on PS2. The in game clips are great and are incredable to watch and in some clips you get the oppotunity to see through snakes point of view to see little extras.
---SOUND---
The music that accompanys the game is excellent and in many points of the game it adds drama to the scene. for example at one point in the game you have to climb a very long ladder. whilst you are doing this the incredible snake eater theme is playing and it gets louder until you feel like a hero... and all your doing is climbing a ladder :). The background sound of the jungle is great with the natural sounds adding to the effects o the game. Other sounds are noticably good like the rustling of the bushes which could lead you to lunch...
---GAMEPLAY---
The game is set in the 1960's and you can see...
The Ups And Downs Of Life
Review of Snakes & Ladders by
jimbuck
Advantages: Easy fun game to play
Disadvantages: None
...Having just heard a question on The Weakest Link to which the answer was Heaven and Hell I though that I should update this opinion on Snakes and Ladders to show what a clever smart arse I am.
Known as Heaven and Hell in India, Snakes and Ladders is probably one of the oldest board games to grace our tables and keep the younger children amused. It can be played by anyone who can count and throw a die. (Dice is plural of die)
The board about 18 inches square is divided up into 100 squares and numbered thus starting at the bottom left hand corner and ending with 100 in the top left hand corner although, presumably to get around the patent laws, I have seen some boards starting at the bottom right hand corner.
Each square has usually got a small picture in it and scattered around are ladders and snakes hence the name of the game...
