Advantages: Great sceneary and lovely weather

Advantages: A remarkable insight into the discovery of the world

...of water depicted thereon could be described as nautical as at stretch! What was special bout this map was that it was dated 1424 and showed the world in a way, which defied all known logic. Places, coastlines and stuff were evident where accepted history stated that these places had not yet been discovered. Example, the map outlined the coast of North & South America plus Caribbean islands. Now we all know that Christopher Columbus discovered this area. Or quelle horreure, could these Hollywood people have been trying to fool us with the movie 1492? Could our trusted history teachers within their government-approved syllabus have misled us? What else was there to do but investigate? Without telling you the whole story – then there’d be no point in your reading the book, I’d probably have breached all sorts of copyright rules... Up until 1992 they were excluded from international competitions in response to the apartheid regime and have to watch on TV as other emerging African nations like Cameroon in Italia ’90, Tunisia and Morocco all outstripped them on the field. Having qualified for the last two finals South Africa are keen to make up for lost time. South Africa qualified for their first ever World Cup finals for France ’98. They backed this up by qualifying for Japan and Korea as well. France was disappointing for many, having won the African Nations Cup in 1996 showing them as the best in Africa they should have done better than being eliminated at the group stages. ...Table Mountain is one of the Jewels in South Africa's Western Cape. It takes its name from the simple fact that on most days the mountain top, which is relatively flat, is covered in a thin layer of clouds which creates the table-like effect. The Mountain looks down upon the city of Cape Town which surrounds it. All this information, however, can easily be found on any other website. I would like to describe, briefly, my Table Mountain experience. To go up the mountain and look down upon the most southern tip of Africa and not only marvel at the beautiful view but also, quite remarkably, acknowledge that you are staring down upon a point in the distance where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet, separating, arguably, the Western World from its Eastern counterpart - this is a truly remarkable experience.... ...*** INTRO *** South African wines are taking off in this country and some labour MP's are supporting trade in this area. I bought mine in a central London Sainsbury's supermarket for £2.99 chilled. The price appealed and I had not tried a white wine recently. *** THE PRODUCT *** The wine came in a green 75cl bottle alcohol 11.5% proof by volume. This was displayed on a simple cream label with the Sainsbury's logo. The back of the bottle carries a label with plenty of information, a map of South Africa, some advice on serving (Serve chilled as an aperitif with oriental cuisine and special spiced dishes). The bottle contains six glasses of wine (?) each glass contains 1.4 units of alcohol. ..., marriages and family life, political activities,imprisonment and finally his freedom and election to South Afican president. The book is illustated with photo's of Nelson Mandela from throughout his life which add greatly to the presentation of his story. Also included at the beginning of the book is a map of South Africa which i found very useful when trying to relate to what was being said in the book about where he travelled etc. Overall i found this book an enthralling read and would recommend it to anybody interested in reading a true story of a man who's courage, strength and compelling desire for change lead him to serve 27 years in prison and yet hold no grudges or malice when he was freed, only a continuing fight for freedom.... ...South Africa are the chokers of world cricket. With the talent they have at their disposal, they should be challenging and beating Australia, the best team in the world. When you look at the South African batting lineup, it is difficult to imagine any team bowling them out cheaply, especially with Mark Boucher batting as low as number nine on a regular basis. This shows just how good the middle order really is. The bowling talent is also formidable, with Shaun Pollock and Allan Donald being the best fast bowling duo in the world at present. Mornanteau Hayward also looks to be a promising addition to the pace attack. In Paul Adams they have a very useful wrist spinner, despite a freakish delivery. As far as all rounders go, South Africa can call on Jacques Kallis, Shaun Pollock and Lance Klusener. Yet, with all this talent, they lost... Read review

...Hluhluwe-Umfolozi is without doubt the best game park in South Africa. I may be a little biased because I used to work there, but after experiencing other parks in the province, along with national favourites such as Kruger and Addo, I can state without reservation Hluhluwe-Umfolozi is by far the most scenic and gives visitors the best chance to see the Big 5, and other sought after species. HUP as it is known locally (or HIP - there is some debate over the spelling of Umfolozi), is the oldest and most prestigious park in South Africa. It is situated in the heart of rural Zululand, in scenery so beautiful that it used to take my breath away each and every day.
