Strada Review
Review of Strada Restaurants by
purplefood
Advantages: Delicious Italian Food
Disadvantages: none
...This is one of the most delicious chain restaurants I have ever been too.
You do not always need to book to go to Strada although I would recommend doing so on weekend evenings as it can get quite busy. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and full of reccomendations. Alongside the usual menu and wine menu provided also comes the weekly specials, which are well worth a try. While this menu may seem quite small in comparison to other resturants, the quality of the food is far superior and I can guarantee there is something for everyone here.
You have the option of ordering garlic bread while you decide on your meal and I highly recommend you do so. Their twist to this Italian favourite is to use pitta style bread and season with springs of rosemary and garlic or basil and pesto. Assuming you plan to leave room for the other...

fresh tasty food, great atmosphere
Review of Strada Restaurants by
street600
Advantages: good varied menu, free mineral water, tasty food, reasonable price
Disadvantages: I can't think of any!
.... There are several pasta dishes.
Small choice of derserts but good variety. The espresso in this place is good too.
The prices in Strada are good with bread baskets at £3.50 starters around £5-£7 and pizzas averaging about £10 and otehr mains around £12.
What I also like about Strada is that they bring complementary glass bottles of mineral water to your table and refill when empty. So you don't have to feel cheap asking for tap water.
The atmosphere in the restaurants is always relaxed a friendly and the decor is modern and stylish.
My favourite branch of Strada has to be the one by the Tower of London, It's called More London Place I think. Has a fantasic view of London or the river....

Walk away!
Review of Strada Restaurants by
kat74_uk
Advantages: none
Disadvantages: staff, service, food and prices.
...I have had many years experiance of various Italian restaurants- all over the uk- and also abroad. I often go to Lakeside Shopping Centre- located in West Thurrock, and often end up staying until the shops close at 10pm- so I also often end up eating out there.
There are lots to chose from, and myself, mother and daughter decided to book a table at Strada for mothers day- as we'd been there several times- and really enjoyed it.
To start with- when we tried to book a table- as we were in the area- we went in to book in person. I asked to book- and the waitress didn't seem to understand me- so she sent the manager over...this was not the usual manager- however he greeted us & we asked about Mothers day. He said they were extremely busy that day- but he'd see what he could do and call us the next day.
There was no call- so I...

A good eat out
Review of Strada, London by
jfalbrektsen
Advantages: Bottles of free filtered water
Disadvantages: Staff can be a bit overly enthusiastic
...Up until a few years ago, I had never heard of Strada. Then, one by one, their restaurants started popping up around London and there are now close to 30 of them in the Greater London area alone. Outlets can also be found in Bath, Brighton and Tunbridge Wells, amongst other places.
In spite of there being quite a few Stradas, these restaurants have manage to retain an unusual sense of individuality, and when you're in one, you don't feel like you're eating in a chain restaurant at all. The atmosphere is friendly, with a modern and light decor and Stradas tend to be very welcoming.
I have been to several Stradas in the London area and a week ago, I went (once more) to the Parsons Green branch. As usual, two bottles of free filtered water arrived at the table immediately. So few places have that and I really think...

A great venue as a couple or a big group
Review of Strada Restaurants by
03bintls
Advantages: Great food, service and experience
Disadvantages: May be a little pricey for some, but you get what you pay for!
...I visited Strada at Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth the other week for a birthday celebration. We booked a table in advance for 13 people and they were very accomodating. We were all seated upstairs on a long table - no complaints there. There place was full of atmosphere and certainlly looked very nice. One section of the table was a little wobbly, but now I'm just being picky!
The first waiter came round with the wine menu and served our selections. The prices were reasonable considering (I think they start at around £18) and the bottles were kept cold in the containers.
The food itself isn't cheap (unless you order from the extensive pizza list), but it really is done nicely. The choice of pizzas is amazing and every one is huge and gorgeous. The plain is around £7 and they go upwards from there. Every style of topping from...

Pizza in Putney?
Review of Strada, Putney by
sunmeilan
Advantages: Delicious food, good prices
Disadvantages: None really
...My friend and I are usually more than happy to slob out in front of the TV with a take-away on a Friday night. Last week, though, we had plans to meet up someone we were at university with a couple of years ago and we didn't particularly want him to see us in all our glory (or distinct lack of). We therefore decided a trip to a local restaurant was in order and as we were meeting in Putney, a restaurant in Putney it was. My friend chose Strada because she'd eaten there before and knew that the food was good as well as being reasonably priced.
Location
Just off Putney High Street at the intersection with Upper Richmond Road, the restaurant is in walking distance from East Putney and Putney Bridge tube stations.
Address:
147 Upper Richmond Road
Putney
London SW15 2TX

Akbars restaurant, York
Review of Akbars Restaurant, York by
sharkel
Advantages: Fabulous night out, excellent food
Disadvantages: only a teeny tiny one - read and find out!!
...On the first night of our recent visit to York we ventured out to find somewhere to eat as the hotel was a tad expensive for us commoners!
When we entered the city walls we asked the first people we met where the best area/restaurant was to eat. Both of them immediately answered Akbars, an Asian restaurant, which luckily was just around the corner on George Hudson Street. They also gave us options for Chinese and Mexican food but both of them were adamant that Akbars was the best.
We walked round to the restaurant and had a look at the menu outside the front door. As I'm a vegetarian I need to ensure that any restaurant I visit is going to have a good selection of meals for me to choose from and not just one or two veggie options. There was a very large amount of meals for me to choose from and we happily went inside...

Wheely Good Restaurant
Review of Bella Italia Restaurant, Cambridge by
uglyboots
Advantages: Unique building, delicious food
Disadvantages: Nothing major
...Bella Italia Cambridge
I should start by saying that there are 3 different Bella Italia restaurants in Cambridge: one at the Grafton Centre - next to the Vue Cinema, one at the Cambridge Leisure Park and one along the backs, near Newnham College called the Watermill.
I have visited all three restaurants, so will give a quick note about the other two before my full review which is on the Watermill Bella Italia. As they are all part of the same chain they share the same menu but the restaurants themselves are slightly different.
Grafton Centre – Possibly the smallest of the three Bella Italia restaurants in Cambridge, it is on the first floor of the Grafton Centre next to Vue cinema, a fast food Italian and a Burger King. In my opinion, Bella Italia’s food is much preferable to the other eateries available on this floor...

My restaurant is better than your restaurant
Review of Restaurant Empire (PC) by
Molefay
Advantages: Get to design your own menus and restaurant
Disadvantages: I need a money cheat lol
...Any tycoon pc games and, well you may have noticed, I am there. This one was no exception. Apparently, it is the worlds first 3D restaurant sim.
As with most of these game types, there are scenarios or freeplay. I always prefer the scenarios - it makes it feel like I'm almost doing something worthwhile!! I did say almost.
Starting with some cash and an empty restaurant, your aim is to design the restaurant, menus, recipies and even your staff, ultimately outdoing the competition.

Restaurant Empire
Review of Restaurant Empire (PC) by
Unicorn76
Advantages: fun, easy, family game, good for the money
Disadvantages: none so far
...INTRODUCTION
I have recently been playing a game that I can get into, and is very good and a lot to do and achieve in this game. Great effects during the game and great graphics and sounds too. Let me share with you what the game is about. I like this game simply because I like any sim based game and any tycoon game and this fits in with the collection just nicely.
WHAT IS RESTAURANT EMPIRE
Restaurant Empire is a sim/tycoon type game, and very fun to play. This game will suit everyone in the family, as it is easy when you know how to play the game, the basics are you have to run your very own restaurant, of course you will have your staff to help out, and you can also decorate your restaurant to your tastes. Watch your guests in your restaurant for complaints too, this will give your restaurant a bad name if you get too many...
