...Reef Surf School Learning to surf can be quite a daunting experience, so when we first decided to learn we chose to have lessons with one of Newquay's well know surf schools. Reef surf school has BSA approved instructors and the school is open 12 months of the year. They also have the reef surf hostel that you can stay at the lodge and have surf lessons for a special package deal such as £49. The hostel comprises of flat screen tvs and cd players to make you feel at home. The lodge has many facilities including a bar that has special events and DJ's and they serve good food. Disadvantages: Astonishingly bad customer service and tech support

...Quite frankly, I wish I had never heard of Freedom2surf and would advise extreme caution to anyone considering choosing them as a broadband supplier. I applied for a broadband connection some 40 days ago and am still without a usable connection. During that time, I have: * been sent an unusable router by Freedom2surf (a BT router locked to BT), an error described as "absolutely ridiculous" by a representative of Freedom2surf's sales team * spent a total of around 6.5 *hours* on premium rate 0870 numbers queueing to speak to Freedom2surf tech support and sales, on more than one occasion being cut off after holding for around half an hour * had to talk to a Freedom2surf sales person because it proved to be impossible to speak to anyone in tech support (as of now, I have still been unable to speak to *anyone* in Freedom2surf tech support... Advantages: High rate per hour

...I am in two minds about this company that pays you to surf with a surf bar. The money you get per hour and the unlimited surfing hours is very good. The bar itself is quite large and not that easy to move around your screen. I am not happy with the fact that you have to be 'actively' surfing, by that I mean that you have to have your browser open to be classed as earning and actually be surfing the web. Well that's ok, we surf don't we? So let's use it while we are doing something on the web, Right? Wrong!! You have actually got to change url's every minute to keep yourself 'active'. So where's the fun in that? I have even had it running while surfing the Clickthru network, a site you have to stay at each page for up to a minute at least. I just could not keep my Spedia light 'active'. This is one bar that just does not suit me... Read review

...I like surf its a brand i have used for years as it works well and unlike other brands it dose get the tough stains out. i have kids so this is very important to me as washing clothes is a job that never seems to end. so when i saw surf small and mighty tropical in my local tesco's on offer at only £1.79 i had to give it ago, and guess what- it didn't let me down. surf small and mighty tropical the small bottle with a big attitued, surf at 2x concentrated delivers a big blow to the 99 top stains. surf small and mighty tropical is a great smelling automatic biological washing liquied that leaves clothes smelling clean and fresh for along time and gets the top 99 stains out. the bottle only contains 730ml of washing liquied but as you only need 35ml per 5kg wash it gose a long, long way at 20 washes per bottle. the cap of the bottle... Advantages: It's where the cool dudes go
Disadvantages: Not much else around if you are not into sitting on the beach or surfing.

...As you enter Newquay you are advised "Some of Europe's finest beaches", but which beach to go to? All the beaches in Newquaqy are sandy and large, here I take a look at Fistral. Fistral - obviously great for surfing why else would they hold the surf competitions there? Car Parking: There is a car park 'on the beach' but it obviously fills up quickly. There is quite a lot of parking areas close by. Parking is pay and display mostly, although some are free. You can get to Fistral without going through the town - head for Pentire, where there is on-road parking overlooking the beach. Shops: There is a small shop on the beach selling burgers/sandwiches/sweets/ice-creams and assorted beach goods. The Headland Hotel is right by the beach and has a small surf shop and (so long as you are smart and clean) a bar and restaurant. Misc... Read review

...Blue crush was released in the UK in March/April time as it dawned on British Summer. It was released in the USA in the summer of 2002, but after a successful debut, was not released here, as winter was drawing in and it seemed an inappropriate time to debut a summer surfing film. The film makers itself originally wanted surfers to audition, and teach them how to act. However this did not stop many actors who couldn't surf, trying to audition and inevitably, these were the people that got the parts and had surfing stunt doubles. New actress Kate Bosworth held the starring role as Ann-marie, an aspiring surfer from a young age, now in her early 20's, living in surfing capital, Hawaii. ...This is a review of the surf advert where a gentleman is stood at the bus stop,waiting for a bus to take him to work. Suddenly a car drives through a large puddle by the curb and the spray soaks the man from head to toe in muddy water.Obviously the man has to go home and get changed. He washes his clothes in surf and it gets all the muddy water stains out of his clothes and brings his shirt out like new. The next day the man is stood at the bus stop again, a car drives past and suddenly his trousers are ripped off,then another car goes past and his shirt is ripped off.Finally another car drives past and off come the boxer shorts. Don`t panic his privates are covered by the surf box. We then see the woman who stole his shirt in the car as a passanger sniffing the mans shirt. ...Newquay is an all kicking all dancing surfing get a way. wether you are a complete begginer or an expert surfer, this is an ideal place for you. Surf courses run throughout the summer. The long sandy beaches filled with young holiday makers and surfers provides an electric atmosphere that everyone who goes here wants to be a part of. it is home to famous surf competitions and many live apperances from popular bands. it would appeal mainly to the younger generations, such as students. ...Unique surf are another company in the long line of pay you to surf companies. They will pay you monthly as long as you earn at least $100.00 for international users. They quote a figure of at least 70% of their revenue as a payout its calculated at the end of the month. The bar is well designed and can be shrunk it takes up around half the screen when running at 1280 x 1024. The bar is stable and runns without affecting anything else. The main advantage of unique surf is that they pay you for unlimited hours, lets hope the pay rate is near the 70 cents an hour used in the example.... Read review

Advantages: solely for girls interested in surfing
Disadvantages: US magazine

...Up until now only the male population got a look into the surf scene. With only giving the girls supplement space in Surfing Magazine. So now its official - girl power has hit the newsstands (I have only seen it so far in W H Smith) with Surfing Girl magazine. Imported from the States and priced at £2.50 this magazine is not a bad read. The idea of a magazine specifically for girl surfers is worth a look. The 130 pages are all dedicated to surfing mainly it has to be said in the US. It would be nice to see something about surfing in the UK but it is only the first edition. Perhaps the North Cornish Sea is not blue enough for them? Their feature this month is swimwear, which takes up pages and pages, with a neat four-page section of just small pictures of swimwear along with prices and stockists.
